I don't mean what species is he or something...I know he's a fox. I was going around on FanFiction.net looking for new Sonic fanfics to read, and I've been noticing lately that people always make Tails a girl! That, or he's gay for Sonic! Or both!
The point is, why do people think Tails should have been a girl?

Well, he kinda acts girly xd Like "Oh, Sonic!" hehe jk jk but yeah. He kinda acts like he likes sonic or something 3nodding

His voice actor is female but there is no doubt to Tails's manly gender.

The point is, why do people think Tails should have been a girl? Tails is a boy, he hangs around Sonic because Sonic is like an older brother to Tails. Someone from the Sonic X forum on the 4Kids forum think that Tails is a girl. That turned into one big fight.

Some people want to do that without making a yaoi pairing!

I kind of agree with her even though he always like's to be around sonic does'nt meen he likes likes him and I think they make it to where its like Tail look's up to sonic as an older brother

I'd agree on tails being a guy. The whole thing with SonicXTails, that's gross. I think it's borderling pedephilia.

Tails is the most near to a girl character for a guy character, his voice has been played by females, it's usually high pitched anyways, and he's a f'n Sonic Fanboy.

I've been told that Tails was originally meant to be female. Don't believe it though.
Tails is a male. Deal with it. xd

There has been a misconception on him since the early 90s. The confusion began because of A: his voice seemed very feminine through some of the TV series, and B: in the UK, the cartoons depicted him as a female heroine by Sonic's side. Thanks to the internet, this misconception spread like wildfire, but after confirming my suspicions, Tails is indeed a male character right down to original concept.

This is the battle I have been fighting ALL my life, ever since I decided that I liked Tails more than Sonic. Tales is a man. There is no doubt about it! He has crushes, he likes girls, but he is the nerdy science guy and he doesn't know how to connect! He even gets some action in one comic (even though the girl was a robot sent by Dr. Robotnick)! He is an innocent character and the voice actor (or should I say Actress) tries to portray him with a boy-ish i-haven't-hit-puberty-yet voice.
