  John "JD" Dorian;
J.D. is the affably nerdy narrator and main character—he provides the overall narration in the show
He is quite a geek, but knowingly so and manages nonetheless to have romantic liaisons with some attractive women. He recently celebrated his 30th birthday, which would place his birthdate sometime in 1975.
He is afraid of sharks, hot air balloons, escalators, and dragonflies; acts strangely around pennies; refers to cream cheese as "cow fudge"; collects scarves, loves candy bracelets, asks for help in making major choices in his life from a rocking unicorn horse called Justin and his alcoholic beverage of choice is the appletini ("easy on the tini") although he does also enjoy the occasional nectarini. He believes in Karma, although did not originally on the show. He is also a fan of Journey, Pat Benatar, Billy Joel, Dido, George Michael, U2, Alanis Morissette and Toto. He describes his taste in music as "acoustic alternative", as he is a sensi ("sensitive guy"), all of whom share such a preference.
Zach Braff;
Zachary Braff (born April 6, 1975) is a Grammy-winning, Emmy and twice Golden Globe-nominated American television and film actor, director, screenwriter and producer. He came to fame during the early 2000s with his role as John Dorian on the NBC sitcom Scrubs and has since become a noted film personality, having written, starred in and directed 2004's Garden State. It was rumored that in August 2006, Braff announced that he wanted to concentrate full-time on his film career and would leave Scrubs at the end of the show's sixth season, although he has stated that he would "miss" appearing on the show and that he has not yet decided if he would continue with a seventh season.
