The light coming through the window had changed, Lucrezia decided. Every other morning it had been kind of yellowish, but now it had more of a blue tint. That deserved to be investigated. She folded back the sheet and stepped off her cot, taking a moment to map out where Wing Ting had wound up curled on the floor (Why did Wing Ting sleep on the floor? She meant to ask). Stepping carefully around the small girl, she made her way to the door.
Opening it, Lucrezia stared out at a thick wall of trees some ten meters away.
"Definitely not Gaia," she thought, sniffing the air. It smelled cleaner. She spun around and called back into the trailer. "Wing! Leves-toi! We're on a new world!"

Wing Ting blinked blearily and peered around the room. "What's a leevee?" She asked sleepily. "And why are there three of them?" And more importantly, she thought privately, why did he care? Wing Ting sighed. Through her time with Lukie, Wing Ting had picked up a few botched French phrases. She often got them wrong, though.
Wait. What was that? A new world? Wing Ting moaned and drew the covers back over her head. Oh, forget that! She was tired! Sleepy time, see voous plate. Aah. Nice, warm covers.

Lucrezia sighed and shut the door. "Not Leevee-trois," she sighed, climbing up onto her bed to open the blinds on the window. "Leves-toi."
She leaned back to get out of the way of the light and looked at Wing Ting again. "We're not on Gaia anymore. We must've moved last night."

Wing Ting frowned. "Isn't that what I said?" She asked, sitting up amist her covers. She rubbed her eyes and scampered onto her feet, hopping up and down to look out of Lukie's window. "Wow." She said slowly. "Big trees," Wing Ting clicked her tongue and shrugged before scampering back under her covers. "It's cold, though. Where are we?" She asked, sitting up inside her covers and pulling them around her head. The result was that she looked like a comical charicature of a begger woman.

"I'm not sure," replied Lucrezia, chuckling at Wing Ting's newfound resemblance to one of the women who would beg for change on market day.
"I bet I could ask Aiden if or when I see him today," she sighed, flopping down on the bed.
"Why is it cold everywhere we go?"

Wing Ting blinked at her friend. "It wasn't so cold in Gaia," Wing Ting protested, her head cocked to one side. "It must've been cold in Rome sometimes, Lukie, wasn't it?" Though maybe not like this, Wing Ting thought idly as she gazed out of the window. It even looked cold outside. She didn't see how the outside could just look cold.

"Never like this," Lucrezia replied with a frown, wrapping her blanket around her shoulders. "I wonder what season it is? It was only this cold for maybe a week around christmas."
She looked back out the window. "Unless those are evergreens, I'm going to have to say spring. Brrrr."

Wing Ting blinked at her friend and said, "Maybe it's Wintertime, then?" A thought suddenly occurred to the petite girl and she rushed on, saying, "D'you think that all the stuff in the Circus is in the same place? I mean, can we still get breakfast? I'm hungry." As if on cue, her stomach let out a long, low growl. Wing Ting blushed a bit, and brought the covers closer around her face.

Lucrezia frowned at the trees. "I don't remember being on the edge of the camp," she stated. "Maybe things got moved around." She got down on the floor and rooted around under the bed for a fresh set of clothes, found them, and ducked into the little washroom, closing the door most of the way. "Let's go take a look around. Why don't you get dressed and well go?"
She finished dressing and vacated the washroom so Wing Ting could use it and set out looking under the bed for her cloak.

"Uuuuuhm. Okay!" She said, jumping out from underneath the covers and dancing around a bit, trying not to touch the floor. It was cooold! Wing Ting hurriedly pulled on a clean white dress and white shoes and...sort of let out a strange moaning sound. "Lukie! I don't have any warm clothes!" She wailed, dancing and turning on the spot. "I can feel my insides getting all frozen!"

Lucrezia gave Wing Ting a sideways glance and pondered if she was cold blooded in addition to short. That thought conquered, she continued shifting boxes around under the bed until finally happening upon a long wool cloak and a lumpy-looking sweater, the latter of which she tossed towards Wing Ting.
"That should work," she said, getting up.

Wing Ting shrugged on the sweater, noting happily that it went all the way down to her knees. She took another look outside. "Eep! Lukie, I know why it's so cold out - it's just morning! Look, the sun's rising." No wonder it was so abysmally cold. Maybe if she opened the door, it would be better.

"No such luck," sighed Lucrezia, standing up and fastening the cloak around her shoulders. "I already poked my head outside. It's pretty cold."
Her eyes flitted up to a vent set a ways up the wall. She held up and hand to it and shivered. No wonder it was cold! The vents were pumping freezing air into the trailer!
"Have you seen these things?" she asked Wing Ting. "They're making it cold. Maybe there's a way to make them warm? I think I saw some dials with thermometer numbers on them near the washroom."

Wing Ting shut the door and blinked at Lukie. Vents? "I think so, if they're anything like the AC units we have at home..." She trailed off. "Can you show me where they are?"

Lucrezia nodded and showed Wing Ting a panel of knobs, numbers, and readouts set at what would be eye level to a normal person. "Er, it says sixty-two right now," she informed her. "Any suggestions?"
