well, I have no idea for when Wii will be available in the UK, but I know November 19th is the worldwide debut for Wii, in the USA, so the USA will get Wii before Japan *gasp* eek and Twilight Princess will be the first Zelda available at a consoles launch.

Wii sports will be packaged WITH the Wii, and you can use your Mii avatar to play Wii sports. Wii channels to do all sorts of stuff like go on the internet(yeah, really on the internet!), play video games online! all sorts of s**t can be done online.

so dont be surprised if you get a Wii and you see a Mii avatar who has either brown hair blue eyes and a red shirt, or red eyes, hair and shirt. it could be mii. lol I love that joke! I know it's gonna be hilarious!

but Wii will be avilable in the USA and Canada first. surprisingly. it'll be the first Japanese produced vide game console debuting outside of Japan! I know tomorrow the release date for Europe and the rest of the UK will be released later.

I cant wait for Wii now!

sorry, i had to put the official info, as old info might be wrong. heres the hardware info:
SIZE
Approximately the size of three stacked DVD cases, the Wii console's elegant design makes it an inviting addition to your entertainment setup without monopolising it. Thanks to the Wii Remote, you're given more freedom to place the console where it best suits your lifestyle.
(addition: its roughly 8inches long, 6 inches wide, and 2 inches thick. i checked a different site)

FEATURES
Controls: Intuitive control for anyone using the physical motion of the main Wii Remote, which resembles a television remote control. Up to four Wii Remotes can be connected at once using wireless Bluetooth technology. The wireless signal can be detected within 10 metres of the console. Both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk include a three-axis motion sensor. The Wii Remote also includes a speaker, rumble feature and expansion port, and can be used as a pointer within 5 metres of the screen. The Wii Remote has a power switch, +Control Pad, A, B, - Button, + Button, Home, 1 and 2 buttons. The Nunchuk includes an analogue control stick and C and Z buttons.

The Look: The Wii console features a compact design that will make it a natural addition to any television setup. It can be displayed either vertically or horizontally.

Media: A single self-loading media bay will play single- or double-layered 12-centimetre optical discs for the Wii console, as well as 8-centimetre Nintendo GameCube discs.

Communication: The Wii console can communicate with the Internet even when the power is turned off. This WiiConnect24 service delivers a new surprise or game update, even if users do not play with Wii. Users can connect wirelessly using IEEE 802.11b/g, or with a USB 2.0 LAN adaptor. Wii also can communicate wirelessly with Nintendo DS.

Virtual Console: Wii will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favourite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The Virtual Console also will feature a "best of" selection from Sega Genesis titles and games from the TurboGrafx console (a system jointly developed by NEC and Hudson). It also will be home to new games conceived by indie developers whose creativity is larger than their budgets.

The Specs: The Wii console boasts 512 megabytes of internal flash memory, two USB 2.0 ports and built-in Wi-Fi capability. A bay for an SD memory card will let players expand the internal flash memory. Design was optimised with state-of-the-art processing technologies that minimise power consumption, keep the console compact and enable the "sleepless" WiiConnect24 mode.

CPU: PowerPC CPU (code-named "Broadway"). Made with a 90 nm SOI CMOS process, jointly developed with and manufactured by IBM.

Graphics Processing Unit: Being developed with ATI.

Other Features: Four ports for classic Nintendo GameCube controllers. Two slots for Nintendo GameCube Memory Cards. An AV Multi-output port for component, composite or S-video.

so far so good, looks pretty damn good. Wii holds much promise, though I'd rather get a red Wii ASAP. maybe Wii will have custom add-on skins for the gamers, like a Resident Evil Wii skin, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros BRAWL, and all that other s**t.

Wii is the smallest Nintendo console produced to date. and the smallest console I've seen period.

the good side of Wii, you can play all your Gamecube games easy. you can play double layered Wii discs so I assume it means either more data stored on disc, or the game can last twice as long(like having both discs of Residnet Evil 4 on one disc instead of 2).

I'm lookin forward to Wii, though sad it wont be available in any other color but white. then again, Nintendo is all about the gaming goodness.

well we'll see about that. I mean in the sense that there will likely be decals that can be put on a Wii. I prefer to make my own custom designs, that way I feel accomplished in knowing I made my customizations to my Wii as custom as they come.
