The two infamous "G"s, I thought about what I am going to post from a comment a friend made, he said "I dont beleive in god, because he dont like us(gays)" So I thought about it, and nowhere it says god does not like gays, the bible is just man's way of having god in a physical form when they failed to realize god IS everything. Another problem with religion is how much they put god above them yet they fill it(god), with human gender (calling him he not a she, god is ABOVE that), giving him human emotions like anger and spite, Why would god hate when he created you and he knew what you were going to do and still did it anyway, so what kind of fair god is the one who makes you just so he can punish you? The god made up by humanity, the god that fullfills all the right things to please the larger crowd, how about the smaller crowds that are hated because of it? Us, I am not a religious person nor will I ever be, but I still beleive in god. I dont need a priest to pray to god for me, since we are all equal, why is he better then everyone else to talk to god? Just beleive in god and ignore the humanity bullshit that comes with it.
"Problem is the bible itself is rather contradictory. In the old testament, god condemns homosexuals, which I take to be written because the leaders of the Jews at that time knows that homosexual relationship will limit their supply of people to work and become soldiers. In the new testament however, Jesus supposedly overturned all the old testament's laws, stating that the law are made to serve human, so if the law is bad, they should be removed. So the original prohibition supposedly is removed too. " -- Cypherangel

You see the truth is...the bibal , much like many other laws in the U.S ...(The constitution) is only open for the interpritation of the people who is reading it at the time...people see what they want. Also with this statment ..peole can also twist it to whichever beleife they want to support. So thus these people you see professing these belifes ..may not stand for everyone.

There lies the problem, it is open to interpretation...yet it is still called perfect and all should live by it. Now thats the problem.

It really annoys me when someone says that if you're homosexual that it's against god and you have to change your ways if you don't want to go to hell. Or even if they say, "it doesn't please god" or "that's not what he wanted" or "it's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." It just annoys me so much and I wish I could strangle people when they say it. Who gives a damn if we like the same sex? It's not like we're hurting anyone! So why should they care? Some people NEED to mind their own buisness.

The supremeacy of God and church and 'set in stone and unquestionable mentality' about the Bible are a few of the contributing factors of my abandonment of Christianity. Though I do not quite believe in a 'god' I think that if there were a god they would be loving twoards all and non-judgemental.
Besides, dosn't Christianity say that you shouldn't juidge others?

I did NOT mean the Adam and Steve thing seriously. stare I was just telling you that's what my Great Grandma was saying...I didn't tell you or mokubahv to insult you. stare
But anyway, like I've said before, why would God put homosexuals on this earth if he didn't want them?
I believe in God and Christ and the teachings of Christ (basically Christian sweatdrop ), and you shouldn't hate God because some say he hates Gays, which I don't believe he does.
My grandpa says: God is in everything. God is part of you and everyone else, as you are a part of God.
Same thing goes for homosexuals as it does heterosexuals. 3nodding

Alas, such true and intelligent words which you speak! If God makes everything why would he make people whom he was against? Taylor_Highwind I believe in God and Christ and the teachings of Christ (basically Christian sweatdrop ), and you shouldn't hate God because some say he hates Gays, which I don't believe he does.

Also, as my friend put it: Jesus rocked! I like him a lot.... it's his cult that scares me. Hehe... nothing against Christians here... just saying I like Jesus... he was cool... Christianity just isn't the right religion for me. I kinda-sorta believe in a "Graet Spirit" of nature... but I don't quite see it as being supreme, because as Taylor's grandpa believes I see it as being somthing thats within us all, as well as in all the world around us, thus making us a part of 'God" and "God" a part of us. Yea.. I'm wierd...

I don't know what I believe. My homophobic parents tried to shove religion down my throat for years and now I have no taste for it. Maybe I'll figure it out some day, but mostly I don't care. I can't really call myself athiest of agnositic, so I just go for apathetic.

But the openness of the Bible, and the fact that it was originally written in hebrew/greek/latin etc., allows room for argument. GD will never quit arguing about it and supporting their beliefs strictly with the Bible, while the evidence in either dirrection can be soo well argued. It just has to be decided on an individual basis.

well i dunno. i do readings on other parts of the bible that arent in the bible. yea there is another part. but its not in the "bible" because it doesnt really talk about jesus, it just talks about the laws and whatever things. the reason god doesnt like homosexuals, well he loves us all but this is the reason, is because his fallen angels come down to earth and started having gay and bisexual sex and turning people gay and bi and whatever. but it also says that "thou shalt not go back and forth. thou shall be committed." which means you can be gay. or straight, but bisexuality is a sin because you flip flop. and you cant commit to one thing ((meaning what sex to be with)). its hard to understand, i know and i forgot the name of this part of the bible, my boyfriend has it. and i guess im committing a sin because im bisexual. but i dont know, since im mgetting married next year then its okay? i think thats a loophole. *shrugs*
