Has anyone here ever worked in a retail job? I mean I'm sure some of you have. I would like to share with you a quote from the Barenaked Ladies' song "Never Is Enough" that have to do with retail:

"Never spent a single day in retail

Retail sucks, and to anyone that hasn't done it: Don't. That is exactly what I have to do in retail, try to make sales and eat bad greasy food which I mostly avoid, in a small enclosed area with a bunch of crazies, bored people, old people, and screaming yelling headache inducing kids with equally irritating parents who yell right back and threaten to punch their 4 year old in the face.

heckyes it does! In fact, yesturday I had a bad headache and I got to listen to at least a half hour of "mom how much money do you have, mom will you buy this for me can I have that, I want this pleeeease pleeeease."

I wish I thought of that. There's this one girl that works there who's dumb as dirt, which would be ok if she wasn't such a b***h. I think she finally figured out I dont' like her, because I decided I can afford to stop being nice to people I don't like. She's been keeping her distance ever since. I guess I could afford to throw stuff and kids too. These last two weeks may be more fun than I originally thought.

I've worked in several retail jobs. It's really not fun at all.

My favorite was when I worked at the bikini store, and people would try to take swimsuits back after it was already worn. I told them they couldn't for hygenic reasons, but what I wanted to say was "It touched your CROTCH. Therefore, we don't want that s**t back."

I know retail work sucks, but I will probably have to get a retail job when I get back up to school. I should probably start filling out online job apps to different stores, before everyone and their mom comes back to school.

That sounds like me, the way I treat my step dad. But he deserves it evil .

Really? I had it stuck in my head for my whole last week of working (i'm done now!). Yeah, retail is an evil and soulless concept.

I'm supposed to be getting a job at Kohl's (a department store) but it's been like 2 weeks since my interview and I haven't heard back from them. When I contact them, they just tell me to keep waiting and I'll hear back from them when they get my drug test results back. I hope I hear from them soon, cause I really do need the money. Grrrr.
