I will this summer. I think that is I get baptized God'll make a huge wave (Im am getting baptized in my pool) crash down on me. I don't feel clean at all, are you supposed to get clean after you get baptized?

Cesariana / everyone: You don't have to get baptised with water to have Jesus in your heart. You have to be baptised by the Holly Spirit. Any other baptism is just a sign for others to know that you love God.

Shukumei Tenshi I will this summer. I think that is I get baptized God'll make a huge wave (Im am getting baptized in my pool) crash down on me. I don't feel clean at all, are you supposed to get clean after you get baptized? No, not really. It's just a symbol of the Holly Spirit for others to see. You should however feel clean when the Holly Spirit baptises you xd

I'm surprised that so many of you haven't been baptised yet. I thought that most of the people got baptised soon after being born. At least they are so here in Sweden.
I'm not baptised though, but I'd like to... I thought that it would be awkward to get baptised now, but apparently it's not too late for me then, eh?

Any other baptism is just a sign for others to know that you love God. True true. I was baptized when I was 10 (I'm 18 now). The baptism really didn't do anything for me. It was the summer between my 8th and 9th grade years when I really began to change and become a more God-honoring, Christ-following person.

Any other baptism is just a sign for others to know that you love God. Catholic churches baptize babies soon after they're born. Most of the Protestant Christian churches baptize children when the child has accepted Christ as their Savior and can testify to that by themselves. My family was Catholic when I was born, so I was baptized when I was a baby in a Catholic church. When I was 7, however, we started going to a Baptist church, and I was baptized when I was 10 by my pastor. At our church, you had to stand up in front of everyone (although informally, as we did the baptism at a pool party) and explain how you came to accept Christ as your personal Savior. It's just to show everyone that you believe that Jesus paid the penalty for your sins, and that you actually know that. Obviously you don't when you're a baby.

Oh, but there are no catholics here in Sweden, (only small gatherings), people here (that are christians) are protestants. So I didn't know about the baptism-later-in-life thing...
But how am I supposed to get baptised now? Do I just enter the church and say that I want to get baptised? It seems weird to do that...

Eh, well I suppose it depends on what your church actually does. I mean ours is pretty informal, just doing it at the start of a pool party.
