No change for either of them.
Kechiri 1 She was looking left and right on the street that morning. She had spent the night at the family ranch and was in town on her way to the docks and her precious ship at her moorage. People looked...different. People that she had known her whole life suddenly looked very strange, some times she could pick out the change easily like a drastic change in skin tone, however sometimes it was more subtle and she caught herself staring for longer than was normal but what in the holy hells was going on here? Was there some sort of magic surge? Was it something to do with the trees?
She saw a familiar face and grabbed her brothers sleeve, whipping him around to face her. She examined his face caustically. He had not changed. She grunted. "Ushiruin what is going on here? People are changing! Have I changed?!" She waved her arms to indicate the others he was smart she was sure he had noticed that people were different. "Tell me brother!"

Ushiruin 1
As per usual his sister was abrupt, brash and obnoxious. Yay. Not.
"Well hello Sister, fancy meeting you here, nice of you to yank me around like a rag doll. Yes I have noticed the changes, but we seem to have dodged that particular magical projectile. It is apparently happening to select earthlings. It has not however changed myself or you."
He might have apologized for the tone but she had started it as so she could finish it too. There were basic manners that most of the rest of the family adhered too. And then there was Kechiri would was bent on other things. Like getting what she wanted and roaving the seas and dresses and loot and being queen of the local pirate crew that was more a privateer crew that picked on other pirates, he couldn't say real pirates because they were real pirates they just had class in who they chose to pick on.
There at least he had answers for her..maybe that would make her calm down but judging from the air temperature, the tilt of the earth...that wasn't going to happen. Too bad he wasn't like Ultear and was unable to blend into the shadows the way his cousin could right now. That would have been nice. Fat chance his creatures could help him with his sister when he was that far from the water.

Kechiri 2 She stared at him, used to his weakness as her much younger brother, despite the fact that he was finally taller than herself. "How did you survive our family?" Even the triplets were tougher and 'Ruin had come from her own parents, he should be significantly tougher than he was. She did however listen to what he said, he was a thinker, which was somewhat rare in a family of full throttle doers. He could help contribute to solutions. SHe ignored most of the whining to focus on his observations.
So she hadn't changed...why not? She was special wasn't she? She hissed. "What is causing it 'Ruin?" She growled, he was smart he should know or figure it out. She had better things to do, like working on her empire which was a bit more aquatic than the one her Dad had envisioned for himself. But it was the sea that called her name most ardently.

He shook his head at her survival comment. He had survived the same way everyone in the family had through massive familial support and fair competition. The same way she had, only he had annoyed the family about fifty percent less due to his actual people skills, patience and generally more agreeable nature. At her question though, he paused and thought critically. "It is too much of a coincidence that the trees bloomed and now we have magical pollen everywehre. It must be the newly matured aishan trees. I don't think anything else could be responsible for this level of magical change. It is very interesting that it is affectin earthlings with no aishan blood too. The Kahis remain unchanged as well. At least from my observations. Perhaps it is the trees way of celebrating their increase in fertility and they believe it to be a sort of gift to the earthlings. Kahi's biology being quite different got exempted unless they had earthling blood and those sort of hybrids seem to be quite rare." It was the only scenario that made sense unless further information came to light. He was pretty confident that he had figured it out.

Kechiri 3 She squinted, thoroughly irritated that her special snowflake self had not been chosen by the aishan trees as special enough to have her colors change. She ignored the fact that her brother also remained unchanged by the trees' hijinks. She! Queen of the darn sea. Nothing. She couldn't help it, Ushiruin was smart. She turned liquid, round, begging eyes on him. One of the few times she had ever shown any vulnerability, (and then only within her inner family.) "Why was I not chosen to change? Am I not seen as worthy of the magic these trees bestowed on so very many others?" She took a deep breath, thought about what she wanted to say and plowed forward. "Surely queen of the seas here is a title worthy enough of reward. I belong to a good family."
A bird, one of the ranches messengers landed on Ushiruin's shoulder and Kechiri read the message it had delivered. "Uncle Thal experienced these changes too."

Ushiruin 3 This was the perfect chance to stab his most prickly sister with words and twist the verbal knife. But this was where they differed; he couldn't do it, despite captain pain in the arse giving him the perfect opportunity. He took a deep breath, stared her in the eye and said "Because you are already perfect the way you are." She had rewarded him by finally being vulnerable in his presence and despite all of the poking she had done over the years, he loved his wild and crazy sister, he always had but that also meant he least of all had to put up with her regular crap, besides she needed someone that would stand up to her but also watch her back.
"I am sure the goddess's considered it but you," he gestured at himself, "like me, were born perfect so there were no changes that needed to be made. Uncle Thal however," here 'Ruin crossed his eyes comically. "I'm surprised they didn't change more of him, quite frankly."

Kechiri 4 She looked at him, stepped closer and then gave him a rather long and tight hug. "That, my borhter, is the best thing you could have possibly said, thank you." She took a deep breath as they broke apart and wiped a bit of moisture from her eyes, smearing her normally immaculate make up. SHe had not expected such sweetness from a brother who normally seemed closed off in her presence. Of couse she might not have been paying enough attention to him. She had always sort of taken him for granted, her younger brother, handsome in his own right. Though he took after their mother except for the waterling spots they both sported. She was rather jealous, that like there other siblings he had also gotten Mom's crystals, the crystals were cool, though she would definitely not trader her water spots for anything else. That she got from Dad. He was of course her favorite parent. She tended to butt heads with her Mother. They always had and they likely always would.

Ushiruin 4 He too inhaled sharply, the hug was as unexpected as it was welcome. He too, wrapped his arms around her and squeezed. They had never been exceptionally close, not as he was with Daanu. Kechiri had lost Elaxi at a pivotal point in her development and he believed it had let deep and poorly healed scars on her heart. They had Elaxi back now but her prolonged absence had left deep scars that time may eventually heal. He hoped htey would anyway. Perhaps this was a continuation of that healing. He was surprised at how much muscle she had underneath the frilly pirate dresses she insisted on wearing. This girl worked out hard and regularly to maintain such a figure. They broke apart and he used a soft cloth to help her with her makeup so she could miantain her appearance if her crew mates were about as well they might be as she was here and usually that meant they too had shore leave. This was the closest village to the 'Sea Wasp's' usual mooring point and the village was rather small. "Buck up sis, can't have your crew see you like this." He did his best to button up his heart too. She had indeed touched his heart with her actions. The only ones who regularly got hugs from her were Elaxi and Dad.

Kechiri 5 "Yes, yes quite right." They ventured around the market for a while, seeing the mass color changes on familiar faces and how those affected by it seemed to freak out, managing to smooth her ruffled feathers to an acceptable smoothness. She was again in full possession of her senses but she did feel warmer towards her brother, some great good had indeed come of this day. They bought a few basic supplies that were needed in their household. Then they turned and began the long walk home. Steady ground felt strange to her, no matter how long her self assigned shore leave was she never got wholey used to the land. She turned to him bored. "So do you have a girlfriend yet? I have been thinking of perhaps maybe finding myself a proper mate. But I am also not sure I am ready yet ya know?"
Having a mate might tie her down, unless he was also one with the sea. She just didn't know what she wanted yet., Though flings on shore at the tavern were getting a bit old. They were initially exciting but not for very long, and she never got attached.

Ushiruin 5 He stopped walking and stared at her. "Me? Do I look like I know?, I'm surprised you are thinking about it though. There are many out there, but very few worth our time. I guess the best way is to expose yourself to new people? You could head up to Jauhar or Zena? Do you have an idea of what you are looking for?" He didn't know what he was supposed to look for himself. He had been steadily building his career and spending time with the family over looking for a mate. Of course she was older than he and that might have something to do with it. Besides any prospective mate would have to run the crazy gauntlet of his family it would take someone special indeed to brave that hoard and repeatedly return.
"I am perhaps not the best person to ask," as he had exactly 0 experience in the matter. "I know one has to be very very careful who they have kids with for more than one reason. But I am fresh out of hints and tips." He smiled and shook his head. Kechi would need a confident and strong mate. "Don't pick a weenie whatever you do."

Kechiri 6
"All I am saying is that after three months at sea I get lonely and picking up random strangers at the pub is not getting any more fun. What say I come home at least to the same person every shore leave and they look after whatever spawn we have while I work for a month or two then at least I am building something, better yet if they come with me to sea."
She always knew what she wanted from life and now an ideal mate began to form in her head. Appearance mattered only to the point that she was at least attracted to them, the inside here mattered so much more. A male would be preferred only for the point of making it a bit easier to have kids. That and she liked the musculature on males. She really wanted kids but not neccesarily right away though if it were to happen early that would be fine too.
She had a lot of living left to do and she may have to take up a different kind of sailing if kids came into the picture. However if they were at the ranch they would be as safe as a turtle's heart with all of the hyper dangerous family and cirtters there to keep pesky pirates out of their business. "Appearance doesn't matter too awful much, but their heart and soul must be sturdy and well bred."

Ushiruin 6 He really was unqualified to give dating advice, but he was decent at least with brotherly advice. "All Mom has said on the matter is when you know you know, whatever that actually means." He shrugged. He was greatly enjoying the walk and talk, perhaps being isolated from her family for months at sea was rather softening his sister up to an extent. This was good as she was usually hard like an anvil and hard things were brittle. Much better that she learn to bend before she broke.
Dating was risky business, but one thing was for certain he felt sorry on many fronts for whoever took advantage of her. Girl knew all the long bladed weapons like the back of her slight blue hand. And they bristled off her person like quills. She was in a word deadly and fueled by a cunning and ambitious mind. Ushiwa had spent a long time making his daughter impervious in battle. Magic and deep emotions remained her only weaknesses.

Kechiri 7 Well he wasn't being particularly helpful. Not that she should expect him to be. He didn't seem all that interested. "So you like just girls or boys too? I've never really gotten the chance to ask before. I like both, with a preference towards men, easier to have babies. Plus I likes all of them muscles the men have. I just haven't come across any that I like at sea, theys all a bit rough around the edges. Plus it wouldn't be good to date anyone on my own crew and it is slim pickings on the local fishing boats. Maybe you are right and I need to consider travel. Not sure where I would want to go. Maybe I will just see where my feet will take me." She lapped him on the shoulder, "I can't thank you enough for making me feel better about the tree changes, and for the advice, slim as it was. You did your best little bro." They were almost home, they were winding very familiar curves, and she recognized all of the trees.

Ushiruin 7 "You are welcome, sorry I wasn't more help sis." He could tell she was closing herself off in preparation for being surrounded by the rest of the family. He was sad that the moment was ending. He was also sad that she lived most of her life with her heart closed off behind barrieres unless she trusted whoever she was with and actually relaxed. Hew as far too relaxed for that sort of thing. He preferred to live in the moment. That and trusted the whole family. He was sure she did too, she just wanted to maintain her image among them as well,. She had always been complicated and it looked like that in particular was not going to be changing any time soon. However, she had finally let him in just a little bit and that made him have a bit and that made him have a bit more hope for her. She had always been highly competive with him, as she wanted to be Dad's favorite and he happened to be the only boy. She should know that Dad didn't really care about his kid's genders at this point, just that those kids were happy and healthy and living their best lives.
"In answer to your question, I like both."
