Ash Name: Ismaire

Theme Summary:
The ashes of an ex-mercenary turned rogue that failed to protect the one they love most. They were cursed until they can fulfill the oath they took once upon a time. Were they ever able to complete their last wish? Who knows? But the ashes produce the smallest glimmer of light shining through the darkness.

Their growth through the stages would preferably progress from darker/more monochromatic to brighter/more colorful shades as if they were able to find solace and peace in the end.

For clothing, I would be hopeful for European medieval attire. Their hair would be on the lighter end of the spectrum. While they would be androgynous, looks would be leaning more to the female spectrum although having a more masculine frame.

The general theme would definitely be along the lines of loyalty and obligation in a medieval-esque setting. Ismaire has gone through their struggles with a shadow-lined past, but they are attempting to get over it which will hopefully be shown as they progress through their stages.

Ash Ingredients:
- Cursed Mercury
- Solanacaea Nightshade
- Blood-Oath Whispers
- Holographic Light

Ingredient Breakdown:
- Cursed Mercury: It is the one of very few metals that is a fluid at standard conditions for temperature and pressure. It is enchantingly mesmerizing but will produce weakness and hallucinations with a prolonged death leading to insanity.
[It's multiple uses in science and medicine has made it a very viable and flexible material to worth with, such as Ismaire's ambiguous gender. Ismaire's past would include being a handy(wo)man for the one they loved, but, ultimately, Ismaire's prolific need to complete their quest would lead to their downfall and subsequent insanity.]

- Solanacaea Belladonna: A family of small-flowered plants used historically for multiple purposes. It was used by women to dilate pupils which was considered attractive and seductive. It was also used for medicinal purposes as a pain reliever and muscle relaxant. But, it's most notorious use is as a poison for assassinations and murder.
[Again, belladonna has multiple uses that are helpful but only in small doses. Belladonna specifically leans towards feminity, which also describes Ismaire as they relate to the male gender but belonging to the female sex. A common task that Ismaire's love's family ordered Ismaire to do would include bodyguarding and assassinations, if needed.]

- Blood Oath Whispers: Behind closed doors, individuals would swear to complete a task that would be sealed in an offering of blood. The task would be completed with a high likelihood of more blood being spilled.
[Self-explanatory, but Ismaire was bound by oath and affection to their love and her family. It was both secretive and public, as Ismaire did not hide the fact that they were a loving and doting bodyguard, but did hide the fact that they were not a stranger to murder. Additionally, blood oaths were made primarily in the medieval era - hinting to and accentuating Ismaire's clothing theme.]

- Holographic Light: The manifestation of a glimmer of hope in an shimmering array of various light wavelengths.
[Ismaire had always been hopeful that, in the end, they would be able to live out the rest of their days with their love, even if the love was never returned. After they had failed to protect their love, Ismaire's motivation and life was completely destroyed for a time before Ismaire started to pick up the pieces, hoping that their "happily ever after" was still within reach.]

sorry for the delay QUQ

I love the depth and meaning for everything O3O <3 and each are really interesting. It fills out the personality and darkness with hints of light really well. The only thing I feel that you mentioned above, that didn't show at all really is the european style /formal attire. When a cultural cue isn't really obvious I tend to go european anyways so its not all is lost, but the formality of it might not be there so much. Also the fact that they are a bit gender neutral could be brought in, otherwise you will have to compensate with the growth items

otherwise I see the solanacea as cues to make it roguish/assassin like.
The holographic light is a personality tip, being dark but having a spot of colorful light. The blood oath also is obvious roguish/assasin. The mercury is a bit less obvious to me unless you meant for it to be a color cue.
Over all I think the rogue/assassin theme is super solid, so perhaps consider working one of the items into something that could state the formal attire more clearly and/or their gender neutral ish appearance?

To be entirely honest, the clothing is up for interpretation - there isn't any specific clothing requirement that I would want to see on Ismaire. I had put it down in the rough drafts of the post since I had always imagined them to be in some fancy clothing (something I'm just partial to IRL X3) and never changed it.

But, to relate to a clothing style/design, the Blood Oath Whispers is a solid theme in the medieval era (such as in Assassin's Creed haha). I'd be definitely good with a medieval rogue/assassin-esque clothing style!

As for the mercury, I meant it to be more of a hint towards their gender ambiguity since it's a flexible/mercurial material; in retrospect, I didn't make that too obvious - oops! The mercury also represents their slow insanity in pursuing a quest to find the one that they loved that - while having a sliver of hope - may be a fruitless endeavor leading to insanity.
