Another day, another visit to the barn by Shakuntala to muck out stalls and give the horses a wash. The building was peculiarly quiet and humid as she entered; squeezing herself through the large door she had pushed aside. She fell into a walk along the beam of light that split the stalls in two, wiggling her nose to the scent of soiled hay and manure as she walked passed the rows of horses hanging their heads out of their gating curiously.
Someone's been neglecting their duties... she huffed as she sniffed out the one compartment where the steed's droppings festered in the boiling heat of the enclosed building. If I find out who... Shakuntala shook her head. No, no, getting angry over something like this was stupid. Finding the culprit would take too much effort and, considering many begged her to fill-in for them and she surreptitiously agreed, she too was in the wrong. Letting out a sigh, she pinpointed the neglected horse's stall and approached it. Might as well do it myself... Again.
The stallion, despite officially named Bounty, was colloquially referred to as Boot amongst other trainees because he was a handful to handle. Shakuntala didn't choke it up to their teasing toward the animal; to her, all horses were wonderful, wonderful creatures and didn't deserve to be treated or talked about as such. But soon she would find out why he deserved the nickname. As she neared the horse, he immediately snapped at her, causing her to withdraw a step.
"H-hey, hey there... C-calm down, buddy," she muttered quietly to him. "Just... J-just gonna..."
Snap!
As she rose her hand to unlatch the lock, Bounty chomped her right on the base of her thumb. Shakuntala yanked her hand back with a sudden yelp as she shot eyes to the steed's face. His nostrils were flared and his ears drawn back, indicating severe anger. She pinched her lips together at this, wondering what about her incited such a reaction. The girl was known for instantly easing a horse into rapport toward her. Was her skill diminishing or was this horse just a sour grape?
It's my fault... she reasoned as she raised a hand to the latch again. I just have to take it slow.
In a painfully slow stretch of her arm, Shakuntala raised her fingers to the lock. Bounty was watching her limb, but made no motion to bite this time. He was studying her movements instead, preparing himself if he'd a need to defend himself. Finally, the tips of her fingers gently touched upon the lock, and as she slowly raised it, a smile of recognition met her lips at the sign that she was successful. Gently swinging it open, she tried to grasp a hand onto Bounty's bridle, but this sudden invasion of his face spooked him.
Suddenly, the horse kicked itself from its stall and went running; making a beeline to the doors of the barn and out onto the campgrounds. Shakuntala, thrown back by the stallion's speed, stared wide-eyed in disbelief, before she found herself in a run after the escaped horse.

The day was a warm one, or rather hot if you asked most people, for Saoirse it was lovely. The heat reminded her a bit of all the long afternoons she had spent working molten glass in front of a roaring furness. While the furness where a lot hotter than the sun was at the moment the warmth was still a great thing in the eyes of the new recruit. A smile played the her lips as the trainee thought of home. The ginger haired girl was wandering around the compound in an attempt to become more familiar with her surroundings. It would not be good if she was late to any of her class or a meeting. Her journey took her over to the stables where the horses where kept. That looks like the barn over there. She looked down at the map in her hands to double check that she was correct in the assumption that the building she saw up ahead was indeed the one she thought it was. Hearing the thundering of hooves Saoirse looked to up find a large horse barreling right at her and the trainee barely manged to doge the stamping equine. A cry of surprise jumped off her lips as she dived out of the horse's way. " What the..." she mutter softly as she started to sit up. She pushed her self off the ground and started at the retreating figure of the horse for a moment in disbelief before she started to brush the dirt of her uniform. This was certainly an interesting start to her first day, she wondered if she should have tried to stop it instead of just getting out of the way. Noticing a girl that seemed to be running after the horse Seers jogged over to the other girl with a wave. "Hey there! Are you after that horse?" She asked as she got closer. "I can try to help you catch it if you'd like."

Shakuntala had broken out in a cold sweat as her feet kicked off clouds of dirt behind her. Not just from the erstwhile heat of the summer's daunting sun, but from the panic and fear that almost burst forth in a flood and bring her to her knees in sobs. She was positive if Santos caught wind of this incident, she'd received a good ole boot to the head as punishment for her irresponsible move. Even worse, she fretted the disappointment that would be brought to her if Marco found out as well. She knew he'd be easy on her, maybe even excuse her actions, but Shakuntala did not want to test him. The fact this horse could probably be seen in danger may incite his anger; something she feared even more than Baldy.
She wanted to right her wrong as quickly as possible, but with how Bounty was charging through the compound, she was positive someone was going to get hurt if she didn't do something now. The stallion managed to avoid barreling another female trainee thanks her quick reflexes, causing Shakuntala to sigh in relief. Realizing the redhead was trying to flag her down, the copper-skinned horse lover jogged right up to her and opened her mouth to speak. The only thing that came out though was a long wheeze as, for the first time since her run from the barn, she had managed to catch her breath. Bending at the waist, she hunched over with her hands on her knees and let out a few pants. Then, turning her head up to Seers, she nodded furiously.
"Y-yes!" she cried out. "I-I, um, a-anyway you can... J-just... Just follow m-me!"
She didn't have time to formulate a plan. Instead, she beckoned Saoirse and took off in a run again after the runaway steed.

Saoirse took the time to catch her own breath as well while Tala spoke. The redhead quickly followed the raven haired girl as they started to chase down the horse. She had little experience in horse wrangling and was unsure what to do to try and catch Bounty. It was pretty clear however that the stallion was much faster than either of them. Should they try and split up to catch him? If one of them manged to get in front of him and have him run twords the other that would make catching him a bit easier right? Oh but wait, he had not tried to avoid her before so chances are the surround and capture method might not work. They should probably attempt to find a way to slow him down first. "D-d you think that he might come for treats or something?" She asked Tala as they ran, half choking on air the first time she tried to ask. Maybe he could be enticed to come close enough to be caught with food or something, Horses like apples right? Or was that carrots. They could probably find a few fruits and veggies left over in the kitchen or wherever they where stored that could be used as bait.
