It's like regular Pokémon, only a lot harder (and infinitely more fun). Have fun Nuzlocking it. zoop doop link(I think Div, in particular, would enjoy this game.)

No, what I mean's is that the sprite type's wrong.
That thing's huge. And whilst Steelix are naturally pretty big, that one's basically a moving mountain next to the people.
It just don't seem right.

Pretty big: 9.2 meters; or a little shorter than a 4 story building. But I guess two pokemon of the same specie could have different sizes. I guess there could also be giant pokemon (Assuming they're lore friendly outside the retardime).

Hell, the spikes on its side are probably as long as it should be.

Hell, the spikes on its side are probably as long as it should be. As much as an average person is 1.8 meters tall, he's not 1.2-1.4 meter wide. It's just weird to scale based on abnormally shaped sprites like that. Beside that: The That Steelix is gigantic, so it can't be your everyday Steelix.
