Well, this is the deal. I was sitting at home watching the news, much like the rest of the world, when a special report made its way through the wire. Of course, the government wasn't supposed to let us know about it, but before thy could stop the coverage and force a media blackout we were all given a sneak peak at the beginning of the end: every station across the country broadcast the same, live footage of a man getting mauled to death by other people, and police trying to pull people off of each other and getting bitten on the process. Shots to the chest and body didn't phase them, and the only time they ever fell to the ground was from a bullet to the head. Then the coverage, and the stations, cut out. All replaced by the emergency broadcast message and a text informing us to stay in our homes and await instructions. What did I do? Well, I couldn't stay in my home: I had the exact same bastards try and force their way into my house and score a free manwich... so I bugged out. I didn't want to, what with all the crap going on in the outside world but what choice did I have against thirty-odd crazies? I may have an AR, but I'm not stupid: they ran towards any noise I made when I used the bat, so a gunshot would be like ringing the dinner bell to the ones outside... I'd need a lot more people and a decently safe location before I could consider making a stand.
