Arcane Armageddon
You've heard of magic right? Pulling rabbits out of hats, guessing cards without a glance. These are nothing but parlour tricks I'm talking real magic Its true I tell you! They all dismissed me as some fool, Well they learned that magic isn't fiction but it was real. Its thought that died out in the middle ages with the Magus Merlin's Death. However after the events that have transpired people see it now as a necessity to live in our new chaotic homeland.
We lived beyond the end of the world.
Like the dinosaurs before us, our time came to an end as a giant meteor hurtled towards our planet on a crash course for destruction. Countless people died during the chaos following the impact, and our world was blanketed in radiation. However, unlike the ionising radiation from uranium, this mana as it became to be known twisted many of the life forms that had survived the impact.
The survivors of the impact now have been forced to live in refuge's that are relatively free of Mana. Within a few years though, we have discovered ways of focusing Mana into a sort of energy shield allowing us to live without fear within our rebuilt cities, The same tricks were used to give us arable soil, clean water, and at least let us survive on Earth.
However beyond our walls, danger awaits in the wasteland. Mana changed people, ranging from green skinned brutes to the the mighty fire lizards dwell out beyond our sanctuaries. We had to find someway to defend ourselves against these foes who only wish destruction. Scattered across the wasteland our scouts had found some odd crystals that had appeared across the desert that thrummed with an energy. When exposed to mana and focused, The magicite allowed even the average joe to use simple spells. though some are more adept at directly using magicite, even a blade infused with it can cut through thick steel. These crystals were harvested and made into "cores" which are now found in everything we make from our farming equipment to power it, to our weapons to defend our homes.
I believe that someday we will over come the horrors of the wastes by banding together, hopefully restoring our world to its former glory.
-Magister Vlasis

Character Classes
Magicite warrior: These warriors are commonly found wielding weapons enhanced with energy. If focused their blades can easily take down the toughest foes. unfortunately they can't use other cores to cast spells too easily.
Templar: These Magicite users train long and hard to use a greatsword or a battle axe but can also be found alongside Magisters to learn to wield Mana as a weapon. Because of their versatility, they sacrifice damage as well as defense as they cannot wield shields.
Magister: These masters of magic wield the power of their cores to maximum effect. because of their harsh training in the ways of magic, they are more susceptible to physical attacks and cannot take as much. Most Magisters wield a wand or a staff containing a selection of magicite cores for using different spells, though some may choose different to suit their tastes.
Cleric: Clerics, instead of wielding Mana for destructive purposes, they find ways of manipulating it to heal the sick and mend the injured. Like Magisters they are weak to physical attacks. Most clerics wield a wand or a staff containing a selection of magicite cores for using different spells, though some may choose different to suit their tastes.
Artificer: Artificer prefer to attack their foes from a distance by using their Magicite infused bow-swords capable of firing from a distance and fighting close range While they can't directly use spells, they can create items with spells like effects. They can take more damage than a Magister or a cleric because of their time out in the wasteland.
Many other classes sometimes can choose to use different weapons if their class wants to use a weapon not designed for their class.

(Alright I think We have some people to start atleast) The town of Sanctum was an oasis among the wasteland, under its focused Mana dome, the town had flourished into a metropolis so rare in these dark days. With fresh water and food available for everyone, Sanctum was a boon for any traveler. Caravans came to trade here, bring wares to trade for the most valuable materials available from Sanctum. All thanks to their shield. And their shield was failing. The aegis crystal, the massive central pillar that sent the energised Mana into a protective force was dying. Noticed by one of the keepers, the Magisters who kept watch over it to keep their city alive. He had run all the way to the Archmage to report the news, and it had not been good news. The Archmage, so many years beyond youth stood in the centre of town, the old man leaning on his staff for support. He coughed then spoke in a voice booming with arcane power. "I would hope this would never happen, but our aegis is failing." His statement was met by the gathered crowd with harsh whispers. They did not know what to do, this was their home, they could only do what they could to protect themselves from the outside world. "We have found a solution through, outside in the wastes lay some of the giant crystals that are now growing out of the land itself like the plants once did. If only a group of adventurers would be willing to stand up for the task at hand. If anyone would have the courage, the tenacity to take up this quest, please I beg you, any of you visit the Spire and talk to the keepers." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Deep within the confines of her lab, Keera Altimari, took a long look into an ancient book. The book, which came from before the impact, the elf gazed through its yellowed pages, supposidly it was the records of old spells used long ago, but quickly it became apparent that it was nothing. Sighing the elf stood slowly up, still getting used to a new weight brought on to her by a mishap with an unstable magicite core. The elf, now in the early stages of her pregnancy, felt the small "bump" she now carried. She could hear the archmage's plea and while normally she didn't like to out in public and especially to go back out into the wasteland, Keera could put her spells to good use.

Xnyil sighed as she looked around tucking her thin sliver hair behind her ear and sighed as she looked down and sighed as she looked at her staff. Twirling it around as she stood in the field her hand resting on her stomach but she quickly dropped her hand to the side and went back to her twirling her staff sighing as small spells going around her in circles

Jace was roaming Sanctum at the time of the announcement. He was around for any salvageable parts to use, but the announcement took to his interest far more. He understood the aegis, how it worked. It sounded as if they needed miners, or at least someone willing to go outside the city walls in search of it.
Well, the magicite has yet to kill this Magicite Human. And there was probably a good pay out for it in return for completing this quest. He wasn't one for adventures, but he was willing to try just about anything once.
Jace hope that no more females would join on this quest though as he headed right for the spire.

"Sounds like a joke." Xnyil said looking at the spire and sighed as she looked up at it and sighed as she tucked her hair behind her ear a dark look in her eyes. "Look at them, running around like idiots to find partners. They need a healer." Xnyil said looking down

"About time something interesting happen in this town..." Stella muttered, tossing the book she had been reading into the large pile of read books on the left side of the desk she occupied.
As she shuffled through the pile of books on her right, she considered the Archmage's request for brave souls. She never considered herself brave in a combat sense, but she was adventurous and determined when she found something she wanted.
"Oh what the hell..."
Casting a simple spell which returned all the books to their proper places, Stella abandoned her seat, left the library, and headed for the Spire.

A tall, long dark haired man stood amongst the crowd. Crossing his arms his golden eyes watched as the old fool pleaded with them to save his city. Hmph! Fools all of them! Why should I bother sticking my neck out for a bunch of greedy idiots? he thought quietly as the crowd began to get noisy after the elder's speech.
Grex was about to turn and walk away when he spotted some children happily playing in the street. So young and innocent, why did he give a damn so much about them? Maybe because he didn't want them to suffer the way he did as a child? With a sigh he turned around and headed for the spire.
It seemed there was a small group forming, not that he really cared. Maybe if he was lucky Grex would get some coin out of his charity work. Leaning up against one of the posts he silently watched the group wondering just when they were going to leave.

Xnyil sighed as she leaned against the wall and rested her hand over her eyes as she sat down. "Abandoned again, why do I even bother. I'm better off dead if it wasn't for this....weird feeling." Xnyil said glancing down at the sleek white armor she wore and sighed as she looked up a the sky a frown on her face. She sighed as she turned her head noticing a group of people a small on her face as she followed the large group of people to the Spire and sighed as she tucked her hair behind her ear
