Two people log into a popular MMO game for the first time. Both unaware of how their lives would intertwine, both unaware that they would end up lovers. For a while they soloed a bit, until one day he asked for help and she came to his aide. The two got to talking (via private chat), and eventually became online mmo friends. From then on they formed their own little group of two and began to quest and enjoy their time, and the game, with one another.

A year had passed, and the next expansion was going to become available soon. While in the game, both had talked about going to an upcoming convention. They decided to both go and meet just to see what the new expansion it would bring. He had no idea that the person he had been playing the game with was female.

This is their story, a story of two gamers who fall in love at a convention, move in with one another, then deal with a challenge far more difficult than a fourty man raid, pregnancy and parenthood.

Chester sat nervously upon one of the comfortable couches of the hotel's lobby. The convention was a few blocks down the road, but he had told his friend that he was planning on checking into a nearby hotel to save some money. Just what was Athello's player like?

Sure he had met the guy online and struck up a good online friendship but he couldn't help but be nervous. He had to wear a Hello my online name is sticker on his shirt with his character's name written in black marker. He felt a bit silly, especially at a few people who would stop and snicker. Apparantly this also was a good and cheap hotel to stay at.

A few people going to the convention checked in. Some cosplayed, while others seemed to come in groups. Part of him began to wonder if maybe Athello wouldn't show? Chester had to basically twist his arm to come. It was all for the next expansion though, he figured once they started talking this event would be more fun. Still sitting here alone on a giant couch made him feel very awkward.

A girl walked in dragging along a small travel case with a suit cover wrapped over her arm. It contained the cosplay outfit she made of her character, but in a female version. Since she heard of the convention and was persuaded by her online friend known as Jack Hammer. Skye didn't even ask his name, nor had any contact to say she was there or not. Luckily she did bring her laptop, just in case they couldn't find one another in the mass of people expected to turn up in the next few days.

"Your name please Miss" the registrar asked the young, industrial looking woman.
"Miss Parkin" she replied with her pierced lips while fumbling around in her pocket to find some ID to prove her identity. It appeared she wasn't carrying a handbag. Skye didn't like all that, it was too girly for her. Pockets were just fine for carrying things in, that was the point of pockets wasn't it? As the staff member looked over the identification, she started to tap away at the keyboard like someone on a sugar rush.
"Ahh yes, Miss Parkin. You're in room 39. It's on the third floor to you're left. Here is you're key and have a lovely stay" the lady gave one of those fake smiles that all people in those kinds of professions had.
"Ummm thanks.." Skye shyly responded, feeling creeped out by the plastic smile as she took the key.

Chester honestly hadn't thought about cosplaying, in fact a few people were kind of poking fun at him because he wasn't dressed. This was his first convention though. After a while of waiting he stood up and gathered his things. Walking up to the counter, he just missed Skye.

"Your name please sir?" asked the woman at the counter.

"Chester Vallus." he replied sadly.

"What's the matter?" she asked sort of tenderly. This caused him to become a bit more shy himself.

"Uhhh...a f-friend of mine didn't make it.." he said awkwardly.

"Awww...well I hope you have fun anyway Mr. Vallus! Your room number is 68 on the third floor." she smiled handing him his key.

With a sigh he shoulderd his lone duffle bag and got into an elevator with a shy looking purple haired girl. Oddly it was just the two of them in there, he felt so awkward all of a sudden. Trying not to make eye contact, he couldn't help but notice the bag.

She probably was here for the same reason. Chester wasn't sure what to do, he scooted a bit father away from her to give her space. "You..going to the convention too?" he finally asked breaking the small silence. Oddly riding the elevator up to the third floor took longer than he thought.

The lift took quite a while to even reach the ground floor. Must of been busy or there was many many floors. Not that she cared, she was on floor three. It made her rather glad about that, if this lift broke down or anything there was less stairs to climb then. While thinking on this all, the doors finally sprung open with atleast ten people peeling out of the small box.

Stepping inside she saw someone else wanted to use it as well, so Skye politely held the door so it didn't close on them. Without even asking she just pressed the number three button. She should've asked really, but figured that he was on a higher floor or something. Three wasn't a big number afterall. Looking down to her suitcase she clicked the handle inside itself while she waited for her floor. It was all so quiet, till Chester spoke up next to her. His voice made her freeze up in a nervous way. "Umm, yeah I am.. how could you tell?"

(lol Skype xD)

Chester blushed. "S-Sorry..you've got a lot of luggage for a local. Plus it's just one of the biggest week events in history." he said shyly. Then letting out a sad sigh he began to stare at his nametag.

"My friend never showed up. I had persuaded him to come to this convention, but he never showed. I feel kind of bad for asking him now. I just thought it would be fun to see the next expansion together." he said looking at her now. "I hope he can forgive me..."

That had been on his mind. Chester hated forcing people, so he couldn't help but feel a little bad. He wondered if his friend would be online tonight, Chester also brought his laptop.

(oh shh lol.. I type too fast mkay? LOL)

Skye didn't really look at the guy next to her much, occasionally she would from the corner of her eye. Not enough to see the name tag that was aimed for her purpose only. He was really cute! Had the same natural her colour as herself too. Not that she even remembered fully. This girl had dyed her hair since she was fifteen. Why was he even talking to her? Strange guy.

"Oh, yeah. I um have an outfit to look like my character in the game. I like to cosplay as things quite alot. Never been one of my own character's before so it should be interesting" Skye noticed he didn't carry that much for this amazing week, maybe he was just one of those guys who just went to see the goodies and not to have fun playing dress up. "I'm sorry about your friend by the way.." she rubbed up her arm as she thought of her own meeting with 'Jack'. It made her feel nervous. Skye hadn't told her online friend she was female, so it was going to be a shock for the poor guy.

(lol xD it's cool. That just tickled my funnybone a bit. xD lol)

"Ahh so you're into cosplay? That's cool." truth be told Chester had never tried cosplay. Then again, this was his first convention. Maybe next year. Occasionally he would catch her look up at him slyly, he felt a bit bad. Chester was probably making her uncomfortable.

When the elevator finally reached the third floor he looked down at her. "Thank you and I'm sorry for making you feel uncomfortable. If you're ever online this week, my character's name is Jack Hammer. Silly and probably stupid name I know, but I like being silly." he said with a kind smile before leaving the elevator.

"I hope you have a fun week by the way!" he waved then began to walk down the hall to his room. Chester probably was going to get something to eat before logging on. Maybe he wouldn't log on at all, part of him was bummed that Athello didn't show. Maybe he would show tomorrow?

She gave a nod, adjusting the costume bag in her arm because it was making her arm a little sweaty from the plastic material. It took her weeks and weeks to even create! The sword was the hardest part of all, so much metal, foam and paint added to the thing.

The lift went ping and the doors opened rather slowly. Maybe the thing needed some maintenance or something. She was about to flick up the handle of her case once again till the mentioned. Jack Hammer. He was right there! Right infront of her! She even saw the cute little name tag as he was leaving. Skye just stood there in shock, couldn't move. He was so cute! Her brain was half expecting a fat nerdy looking guy, but he was the total opposite. In her daze the doors closed again, someone wanted to use it on their floor. "No no no!" she finally mumbled out, trying to pry the doors open and mashing the button back to the third floor.

A fat looking lady wanted to use the life for just one floor, typical. In the back of Skye's mind she wondered why she just wouldn't take the stairs to burn all that blubber off. Finally she got back to her floor and ran around the entire floor to see if she could catch him. But alas.. no such luck... with a sigh the saddened girl went to her own room, hoping he was atleast online.

Chester thought about it, and thought about it, but eventually gave into playing the game a little. Plugging in, and opening, his laptop the young man casually logged into the game.

He left Jack right where the two had stopped doing daily quests a few nights before. A small swampy area, Chester wanted the cool mount and pet from that place so the two were rep farming. At the max level there wasn't much to do but rep farm, instance run, pvp, or raid.

They did a little of everything, in fact a few of the people in guild chat popped Hellos and Greetings and other silly phrases to his character as he logged on. Chester was relaxing on the bed a bit laughing to himself as he responded to a few of the guild members on. Half of them were jealous he was at the convention, and a few actually wanted to hook up with him because they were there also.

That made him smile, but he was still sad that his partner in crime wasn't online or even at the convention. Oddly he couldn't get that girl out of his mind, she was kind of cute.

Skye felt terrible about what had just happened. He seemed so upset about not seeing her, well this was a great start to their real life friendship. While unpacking all her stuff it just mad her feel worse thinking in it so deeply. That was sadly the type of person she was, always thinking negatively on things.

Once all her essentials were out and cosplay outfit hung up on display, all set up for the convention day, she turned on her laptop. It took a while to even find a damn signal on it, but it was there finally. With a quick type of her password into the game launcher, she logged onto her Athello character. He looked so handsome and very much a dream man in her eyes on the appearance sense. Jack seemed to be in same spot where they last logged off too. "hey.."
PostPosted: Sat Apr 27, 2013 8:39 pm

"Hey..I guess you never made it to the convention? I'm here and I've been waiting for you..." he replied to the pm. Chester was a bit surprised that he had logged on. "I'm sorry by the way dude, I didn't mean to twist your arm or anything. I'll let you know what cool and new exciting things this first expasion will bring!"

Jack then stood up and began to use his Class's buffs on Skye's character. Then after he was all buffed up he invited Athello to join a party. The quests were back again.

"You ready to go? I don't know how much I'll be online. Hahahaha! Did you see what Unkle77 just posted to you in guild chat! xD" using his character emotes, Jack Hammer laughs.

Chester felt a bit better that at least his friend was alright. Part of him was a bit worried when he stopped logging in a few days ago. Maybe if that cute girl was around he would be able to talk to her later? "By the way, I talked with a cute girl on the elevator today. She's got pretty eyes, though I think I made her uncomfortable.. "

He was a chatterbox when he was excited. Blushing a bit he stopped typing so Skye could catch up.

(lol sorry xD I figure most of Chester's posts will be like this in game when they PM ^^; I hope you don't mind. xP That's how I usually am in MMO's actually. lol)

Jack was talking about so many things at once! What was she going to do?! But wait... a cute girl in a lift? She was the only one in there! He must of been talking about her! What to do, what to do. Openly admitting she was that very girl would've made things more awkward perhaps. Skye was so torn and nervous now. But couldn't just ignore his comments. "Sorry dude, I had a few issues with transport and such." The demonic looking man stated, before using the bow emote to express his apology. "That would nice if you share what's new with me. Seeing as I sadly will miss it."
"What the hell are you doing Skye?" she said out loud to herself before continuing her little message being spoken out by her male.
"Yeah I'm all set. And I think I'll ignore Unkle77 for today, they are begging for enchanted weapons again. Can a guy be any more noob and desperate? jeez >.>" there was a small gab between replies as she thought on what to say about the 'cute girl' situation "You met a girl? Sweet... what's her name?" Skye asked, hoping he didn't know.
