It was Christmas day and Annabelle had just been introduced to her new home. Right now, she was hiding in the library looking at a children's book. She felt at home in a library since she had just learned to read. As she read the children's book, she giggled at the funny parts. She was so cute. The only reason she was with her new mother was because Elliot's mother worked at the orphanage Annabelle was at and taught her to read. Then she came to a word that she didn't understand and went to find her new mother. But she wasn't home. She then found Elliot but wasn't sure about him. She hid behind the door and would pull back her head whenever she saw him looking over. She was really shy and didn't know Elliot. But she knew she had a home for Christmas. But she didn't know why anyone would want her. She didn't think she was anything special.

Annabelle perked her ears when she heard the words 'Merry Christmas.' SHe had never heard them before. She hugged Elliot with happy tears flowing from her eyes. She had held in the pain for so long that she couldn't hold it in anymore. She already knew a few signs but then she signed the word, friend to him and started to purr a little. She never opened up to anyone before because she didn't know how. Then she said something but her voice was weak and faint. "Thank you big brother." She said and hugged him purring some. She then ate the cookie and offered him some. Her white ears were so sweet and made her even cuter and her tail with the brown spot on the end was adorable and fluffy. She never had anyone to love her before Elliot and his mother came along. No one really took the time to help her. SHe used to cry herself to sleep every night because she was scared. That was no way for anyone to live. SHe always thought that no one cared for her and she got her wish for someone who loved her. That was the only thing she ever wanted for Christmas. Ever since he was 2 years old, she had been beaten and whipped, with a belt. occasionally. She still had some scars on her and one of them was on her cheek another on her ear. By the time Elliot's mom got home she was reading with him and sitting with him in the living room. She would point to the words she didn't know and would look up at him for help.

When Elliot's mother returned from buying Elliot adn Annabelle's Christmas presents, She smiled seeing them together. "See Annabelle. I told you he was an Angel." She said and laughed a little at the joke. Annabelle was actually smiling for the first time in her life. She loved the feeling of smiling. Once Annabelle finished the book with Elliot she was snuggled up to him fast asleep. Their mother smiled and said "She's never had any kind treatment in her life. I'm happy that she's already fond of you. It's almost like her past never happened." She then smiled and put Annabelle to bed and started to wrap their presents once they were both in bed. Annabelle knew of Santa and even left him some milk and cookies. Their mother smiled at the note she and Elliot wrote before bed. Annabelle was saying thank you to Santa for helping her Christmas wish come true and that she was very happy here. She then ate the cookies and milk and made it look liek Santa had been here. Their mother even signed Annabelle and Elliot's presents from Santa so that Annabelle would not find out that there wasn't really any Santa until she was older. Their mother wanted her to be as happy as possible knowing she would have to go back to the Orphanage after the holidays. The Orphanage wanted her to have a happy Christmas along with the other children. So they allowed the families that helped out to invite the children home for the Holidays. Annabelle knew that she would have to go back but Elliot's mother was thinking of adopting her as her own, to make the wish permanent.

Annabelle's ears picked up on the harp playing. She woke up to see where it was and peeked into Elliot's room. Her tail began to wag as she listened to him play his harp. It was really pretty to her and she liked it. She didn't want to interupt him, since he seemed to be playing to Jesus. Annabelle believed in Jesus and knew that he loved her no matter what. Then she whispered "happy birthday Jesus," and listened until she fell asleep at Elliot's door curled up in a little ball, with her tail wrapped around her and under her head.

Annabelle then snuggled up to Elliot, feeling really safe around him. Then the next morning she giggled as she went downstairs to check and see if Santa came. She smiled widely seeing he left her a note and presents. She then ran back upstairs and shook Elliot gently saying "Big brother wake up! Santa came." She then went into Elliot's mother's room, shook her and said "Miss Nina! Santa came!" She was obviously excited and it was cute to see her like this. After Elliot's mother woke up, she put her robe on and Went downstairs with Annabelle, who was so excited that she got her Christmas wish.

Annabelle giggled and went over to the tree looking for a good present to open. Elliot's mom smiled at her son and said "Merry Christmas to you too, my little angel." Then she kissed his forehead and looked over at Annabelle who found the right present. She had read the note and was smiling a lot. Then she grabbed a present that had her name on it. It was in pink Zebra wrapping paper. She smiled as she carefully opened it, being careful not to break the wrapping paper. SHe loved to save it and use it for different things.

Annabelle then giggled and said "It's a stuffed Wolf!" She then hugged it loving how soft and fuzzy it was She had the teddy bear Elliot gave her in her lap and was happy as she handed Elliot a gift. "Santa brought you some stuff too." She said and smiled as she gave it to him.
