There's something to be said about writing that tears at your insides, leaving you raw and jagged and in tears. Not because it's so terrible you can't stand to look at the missing periods and lacking creativity. But because there is so much pain, so much longing and regret filling every word that the picture painted is one of terrible, impossible beauty...
I want that. I want struggle, envy, greed, hate, fury, violence, regret, guilt--everything that makes your fingers shake as you type, your heart ache for the people you created.
So if you don't like putting your characters through Hell and back, turn around now--I don't always promise happy endings. I promise the heartfelt, meaningful ones that sometimes hurt. But they are masterpieces...
I was thinking something with maybe...vampires? Cliche, but they are tragic beasts. Or other types of demons. I'd like ones that are more complex and less common. We can bat around ideas, maybe you have something you've been wanting to do? PM me or reply here, please~ I await your word.

So, I figure I might throw down some characters I've used--or are using--that might give some inspiration. I may use one of them if you find them striking and can see an idea with them. Or make completely new ones. We'll have to see~
Here is Lilah Evans (bottom posts). She's one of my most recent characters--and by far my favorite. Her story is one that I'm still going through in another roleplay, here.
The short of it is that she goes to a school housing children of the Seven Sins; hers was Wrath, though shortly after starting her third year (the current), she has discovered that there is a demon inside her, trying to break her down, throw her out, and take her body for its own. The struggle to keep it under control while trying to find a way to destroy it has been a tiring, tear-stained journey filled with friends, a lover, and constant guilt and fear. Every moment of solace, every second of peace drives the demon farther into its determination to crush Lilah, while on the other end Lilah's will to keep fighting burns brighter as she slowly finds she has much more to lose than her life. Along with having the power to heal--as shown by her attempt to try and destroy herself, with the help of a friend she's just made named Grin--that can be empowered by the demon to keep her assets in check, she can see visions of the future.
So far, it's only ever of death and pain, usually involving Nikolai, her lover. He stands beside her in her battle, trying to keep a hold of what they have just discovered between them, all the while a war raging inside himself. All of it is being made more difficult with Nikolai's mother's ghost planning to tear them apart, Grin's determination to save her from the demon by any means that isn't her death, and a girl whose half banshee and dangerously crazy about Grin--to a point where murder isn't off the table if anything endangered him. And with the recent arrival of Lilah's thought-to-be-dead brother, claiming he can help her, things only grow more complicated and messed up.

Hmm, I like your character a lot, and definitely like your idea of a roleplay. I think vampires would be okay if others wanted that type of roleplay, but not everyone is really fond of that sort of thing due to either a lack of interest in the whole vampire theme, or people who almost immediately think of it as "just another vampire roleplay. Probably corny." I mean, even in my opinion, the vampire roleplays have to be done right for them to be interesting, you know what I mean? No sparkling pixies running around ( obvious twilight reference is obvious ) because.. Well, a lot of people just would be incapable of taking them seriously. ( No offence if you're a fan of Twilight, by the way. It's just my personal opinion @_@ )
But with the type of roleplay you want, I think that the interesting factor could easily be achieved. I really do like where you're going. When it comes to other races, I can't really think of anything other than some kind of angels/fallen angels/demons right now. Rather tired xD; Do you have any sort of ideas for a roleplay right now? Or are you blank?

Why, thank you. She is my shining achievement. I actually do have a vampire Roleplay idea--but its a small scale one. Three or four people. I find that three is a very good number for a roleplay; not too big, so it works with the smaller RP ideas that only need a few chars for the focus, and there's not just two people struggling to put together all of the ideas and chars.
My one idea is of a girl who has had a life full of abuse and disappointment, now reduced to going through her day-to-day life almost completely numb and cut-off from the world. Until she stumbles across a vampire feeding in an ally one night on her way home. Terrified, she makes it back to apartment with no incident, convinced it was the dim lighting and lack of sleep. But the vampire who she saw is a ruthless, vicious monster all too well trained in the art of torture and mind games. When the girl turns to her guy friend who has recently seemed to take an interest in her without her noticing, things only grow more complicated as he watches her start to grow an obsession with the nightmares and foreboding messages left by the monster. Torn between the knowledge of a world beyond the normal, filled with the promise of power and immortally, and the dedication of a friend who seems to want to be more, the girl must inevitably decide where the pieces will all fall--or allow a monster to throw them where he wishes.
We'd need three to start, and possibly take on double roles or add a few more people as we need. Opinions? Questions?

Hmm actually, it sounds pretty cool. I do like the idea, and I think the amount of people would be sufficient. Sometimes too many people could get really.. Annoying o.o
I really like the roleplay idea, but I'm curious; what roles would there be? I mean the playable characters. Would it just be the girl, and the friend, then possibly the vampire? And the double roles -- would that be the every-day kind of people, or would it be other friends or family members..? I think this would be fun 3nodding

Oh, yes; the main ones would be the vampire, the girl, and the friend. But yeah--old flames, friends, co-workers, possibly other vampires--we can be creative. And we can let people drop in to shell out a few posts and have their char killed off or just disappear after stirring things up, or add them ourselves as needed. smile Pretty flexible. I'm glad you like the idea--what role would you want to play? Or roles. biggrin I personally would like the girl--and one or so other depending on how things start to turn and what's needed. Not the best at guy characters--but I'm learning!

Yeah, I thought so. Also, creativity is always good :3 And, I actually think it would be rather fun to play the part of the vampire xD If I played another role as well, I'm not sure. Like you said, whatever may be needed. And yeah, that was my problem before. Before I used a male character I was iffy about it, but once you play one a few times it's like "psh, yeah. I can do that." xD

biggrin Perfect. We just need another person to play the friend, but they can be added after a few posts. I can set this up by tonight, even. biggrin I can use my Lilah character for this, but I also have another-- Dahlia Rivers--who I could do. Or make a whole other, though it'd take me time to pull one together that's newish.

Oh? =o Sounds fantastic~ And yeah, I would think that sounds like it would work 3nodding And when it comes to your characters, I'm really not sure. Both the ones you have are pretty cool xD What do you think the vampire should be like when it comes to life/personality stuffs? Just creepy in general? Crazy?

Well, then I'll do Dahlia since I have a layout that works for the guild forums mostly. I was thinking kind of alluring, almost; suave, romantic, seductive--all hiding a twisted, sadistic, blood-thirsty maniac who love misery and inflicting pain. I mean, you of course can make him deeper than just that. Maybe have some hidden secrets or desires, or past lovers or family that messed him up or left a weak spot. I'm sure you'll come up with something great. smile I'll go make a thread int he Horror forum real quick, just for preps. Nothing fancy, just a name and a brief descript. Maybe get somebody to play the guy friend role.

And thank you for believing in me! emotion_kirakira xD You don't have to, though. I mean, you can do one to help you, and I can throw up an OOC with a prof skele if you need one. Or use a basic one yourself. But we can convey who our chars are through the Roleplay itself, really. I'd just need a name, heh. Also, Dahlia will be 22.

Alright, 22 :3 and, thanks, but it's okay~ I can make one for now :3 and a name.. Bloody hell I've always been mad at naming. *thinks* Well, seeing as how it has to do with a vampire playing mind games, a girl going crazy, and her friend trying to protect her through it, I'd say definitely something.. That would suit that. The theme. Hmm.. Damn.

Lol, I've just left it blank so far, so don't worry. And I do believe a decent starting point can be either her running across the vampire and that slight almost-encounter--displaying her fears and curiosity, as well as the vamp's sudden fascination--and the morning after or so. Or possibly the next night. Things start to get spooky or something. The start of the mind games.
