Shina cleaned up the last of her lunch, looking out over the clearing from her seat atop one of the rather large boulders piled on one side of the clearing. A stream sparkled off to the side, and the grassy meadow provided a lush lunch for Rasha as well. Soon she would be back to Katarina. It was almost time to refill her saddlebags, and the last person she had met had mentioned there was supposed to be some new exhibit at the museum there. She would have to drop by and take a look.

Kayla was starting to get tired as she had an early start today. What was she thinking when she forced herself to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning without so much as a break in between. Crazy, that's what.
"There seem to be a clearing pass that boulder, guys." Kayla said to Snookie, her wild but friendly mew and her very tough-shelled Rampardos, Adira. "Once we get there we can take that break, hopefully.
Adira acted like she didn't hear Kayla but acknowledged it with a glance. Snookie, who was currently in the form of a pichu, climbed ontop of Kayla's head in excitment to see the clearing faster.

Rasha's head rose from the lush meadow grass. Over there, was there someone coming?

Kayla was about to pass the boulder before she heard a deep growl and saw a flash of red and grey pass by her. Oh no. Adira must have sensed someone else ahead. She is so combative to every pokemon that she run across but she has her reasons.
"Adira! No!" Kayla shouted as she tries to catch up to the Rampardos before she starts something that didn't need to be started. Snookie's ears perked in interest before transforming into a shiny swablu to check out what's going on.
By the time, Kayla caught up, Adira was starting down at a ponyta. Great. This doesn't look good. Is this pokemon a wild one or does it belong to someone. Kayla wondered.
"Adira, please. Can we just not?" Kayla tried to plea with the stubborn Rampardos but from experience, it doesn't look good.

Rasha stared at the Rampardos threateningly. This was her clearing, and her trainer was up on the rocks, and she wasn't going to back down! "Back off! I don't know who taught you manners, but they didn't do a very good job!"
"Rasha! Rasha, calm down!" Shina called, fingering her Pokeball. She would hate to use it to recall Rasha, but she was fairly safe up here. Rasha was down there with an unkown Pokemon that seemed to belong to the trainer who had just rushed into the clearing.

Adira growled menacingly at the Ponyta. She did not even hear what Rasha was saying but when it comes to battles, talking is not needed. The winner defines what is to be said. There was one good thing about Adira though. She does listen to her trainer well as she resist lashing out at the ponyta. Her hind legs were already in a crouching position, ready to strike. Her front claws are flexing open and close to try to relieve some tension.
When Kayla finally caught up and stood next to Adira, she placed her hand on Adira's side, causing Adira's tough hide to quiver almost uncontrollably. "Calm down, Adira."
Kayla looked over at the trainer that called out to the Ponyta and smiled sheepishly. "I am very sorry about Adira's behavior. I didn't realize there be someone on this particular trail as I read this is the least used route. Otherwise, she would be out."
Snookie, the swablu!mew, perked lightly on Adira's head but ready to take off if Adira lashes out without warning. "No fight. Fighting bad. Fight hurts much." He convied it by thought so that only the pokemon could hear.

Rasha eyed the Rampardos, then glanced up at Shina. Looking back at Adria, she deliberately drug a sharp hoof through the grass. "So, are we battling or not?" Rasha called to her trainer.
"No problem!" Shina called to the trainer.
"Poony-ta!" Rasha was pawing the ground agressively, and Shina sighed. "Are you sure you want to, Rasha?"
Rasha looked over at Shina and let one ear flop flat as she huffed.
Shina shook her head. "Hey, since they are already worked up, want to let them battle it out?" Shina asked the other trainer.

Kayla sighed in exasperation. "Might as well. Maybe then we can get the real introductions in order and be more polite." Kayla set her bag down before looking up for Snookie.
To her amusement, Snookie was right in between Adira's eyes and staring intently at them as if in a staring contest. Adira's focus was straight at Rasha as she is use to Snookie's annoying yet childish ways. "Snookie! If you come here, I'll give you that cookie I got from the Pokemon Center a few days ago."
Snookie ruffled his feathers and took flight over to Kayla and attempt to snoop for the promised cookie in the bag that was discarded on the floor.
Kayla rolled her eyes but turned her attention to the ponyta and the trainer. "Well, lets start by who gets to go first." She pulled out a 6-sided dice and tossed it in the air. "This is my roll."

Shina laughed. "Sure!" Hopping down, she glanced at the small die. "Wow a six." Scooping the tiny cube up, Shina tossed it in the air.

Kayla grinned at the other trainer slightly. "Well, it looks like I get to go first." She turned her attention to Adira. "And of course you are ready." It wasn't even a question.
Adira lashed her tail to each side of her in response.
"Well, let's get this over with. Adira, start with earthquake!"
Adira bared her teeth in a grin and crouched low to the ground while still being upright before leaping into the air, about 4 feet high before crashing down to the ground with thundering roar. The ground shook so much that Kayla almost lost balance. She had to crouch down and almost hug it to keep herself steady.
Adira: 1050
Rasha: 800-300=500HP
Ouch. I am starting to feel bad. XDDD;;;

Shina winced as Rasha staggered, struggling to keep her footing on the roiling turf. When the shaking ended, she quickly snapped "Lower her defense with Iron Tail!"
Rasha pivoted sharply, her suddenly more solid tail slicing at Adira.
(Stat changing moves cannot fail, and do not require a roll. This attack lowers your defense so all attacks hit for an extra 50hp.)
Adria HP: 1050
Rasha HP: 500/800 (-300 for supereffective critical hit)

Adira blocked the tail from causing damage but she could feel her defense lowered a bit. Growling in annoyance, the rampardos leaped away from the ponyta, aiming for another attack.
Kayla frowned at the Rasha's attack. Smart move but was it a good thing on her part to do that? We will find out. "Lets give some payback, girl. Use Mud-Slap!"
Adira swung her tail up high, as high as it could go and sweeped it across the ground, bringing up dirt, mud and small stones with the force of it. The Rampardos flung it across the field and aimed it at the fire-horse.
Adira: 1050

Rasha danced nimbly out of the way of the flying dirt. “Retaliate with Double Kick!” Shina called. Rasha raced up to the Rampardos, wheeling at the last second to send powerful hooves at the other Pokemon.

Adira ducked under the potentially fatal kick just in time. She back up a few steps to keep a safe distance of those powerful hooves.
"Phew! That was close!" Kayla muttered in relief. "Give her a taste of her own medicine, our way. Head Smash!"
Adira roared before charging at Rasha; head lowered at full speed. Snookie, the pidgey, is cheering Adira on with a pompom attached to a stick in his beak and swaying his head from side to side.

Rasha neighed her displeasure as the rock Pokemon crashed into her. Pivoting sharply, not waiting for orders, she sent an Iron Tail attack smashing at Adira.
