Lieven giggled quietly as he turned the pages of the fairytale he was reading, happily sitting in his bed. It wasn't too often he just got to relax and do his hobby alone. He normally always had Cebrien to share the time with. It always felt more complete with the vampire sitting beside him, reading along, or rather listening to him murmur the story and words, and weave a tale in ink. Unfortunately, the vampire had long left for.. something.. before Lieven even woke. The pink-haired boy had found his boyfriend missing when his eyes opened, and in his place a pillow with a note attached that Lieven had been clinging to. The note was simple.
Lieven, I'm going out for awhile. See you later. ~ Cebrien
That was Cebrien after all. Blunt and sweet, to the point. No need for elaboration. It made Lieven all the more curious. Why had his lover gone out like he did? And why so early? Cebrien certainly wasn't your average vampire, but surely didn't like mornings all too much either. Both of them liked to sleep in. He turned a page, and smiled lightly at the lovely picture of a couple, prince and princess. At the moment, he wished his own prince was back.

Cebrien smirked to himself as he wandered the aisles of the ancient book store. Sharpened, black tipped fingers lightly touched the spines of books. As he looked at the titles, he mused that he'd never done anything like this before. Bought a gift for one of his pets? Ridiculous. Even more ridiculous was the fact that he was really here. At a bookstore. Looking for something that would please his pet. But then...Lieven had become so much than a pet, hadn't he? Reading to the vampire pleased Lieven, and on some level that Cebrien couldn't seem to process, the reading pleased him, as well.
With a sigh, Cebrien finally found the section he'd been looking for and knelt near the floor to search. Only a few moments of looking at he found it. The perfect book for the pet...no. For the person who had come to mean so much to him. Smiling a little, Cebrien paid for the book and left, hissing at the sun a little. As a vampire, he hated the sun, but he didn't go up in flames like so many myths said. No, it was merely a minor annoyance, and he could get sunburned easier. But his long coat and slacks took care of that, as well as sunglasses and very little time actually spent in the sun.
It didn't, thankfully, take him long to get home with the book giftwrapped under his coat. Hidden in the back of his slacks, since he wanted to see if Lieven would notice before he gave it to him. He'd never bought a fairy tale book before. He hoped it was something that Lieven didn't have before. Though even if he did, he highly doubted his boyfriend would have a first edition of the original Grimm Brothers' tales.
So he smiled as he walked in through the front door and called for him in a sing-song voice. "Lieveeen~"

Lieven kept reading quietly, having gotten almost to the end of his tale before he heard the familiar creak of the front door swinging open, and a wider smile graced his loving, pink lips. He laughed lightly at the sing-song tell-tale voice of his boyfriend, his Cebrien, and slid a bookmark into his place in the story. A book could wait; Cebrien could not. He called out softly, his own voice a sweet harmony with even the playful song of Cebrien's call. "Be right there!"
Bare feet met the carpeted floor, and he slid the large fairytale onto the nightstand, before quickly letting his feet take him to the foyer. He laughed happily and smiled as Cebrien stood at the door, and ran to him, hugging him around the torso and giving him a nuzzle in the cheek, standing on tippy toes to do so. "Where have you been?" He asked innocently, green eyes blinking in curiosity at why he had been absent this morning. Unknowingly to the innocent boy, the answer was just slightly below where his arms were crossed around Cebrien right then and there.

Cebrien chuckled as he heard Lieven respond to his call. That was one thing he loved about Lieven...he never kept him waiting. As he listened to Lieven's feet bringing him nearer, he unwrapped the cookie he'd bought on the way home. His smile widened when his Lieven ran to him and hugged him. It always made his heart skip a beat to be greeted like this: with love instead of anything else. He kissed his cheek lightly and pulled back a little. "I bought you a couple things that I thought you would enjoy. The first one you can have," he grinned and held up a heart shaped cookie with red sprinkles. "The second...you have to search for~"

Lieven laughed happily as he was kissed and nuzzled a little closer to his Cebrien, blinking though, in confusion, as the older male pulled back a bit. That was new. Cebrien had a thing for how Lieven got close and snuggled up to him. He blinked though, as Cebrien spoke about.. gifts.. His eyes widened in shock, and surprise. Cebrien had gotten gifts for him? Never once had any of Lieven's small presents to the vampire been returned, whether or not Lili had been hoping they might've. Of course, Lili never asked for anything in return; his gifts were simple, and relatively small or homemade, such as a story he wrote himself, or a lacy card he had bought with his money from work. He couldn't afford big presents after all, and his talents were limited to reading, writing and cooking.
"A couple things?" He asked innocently, eyes twinkling with curiosity and surprise. He squeaked lightly as a cookie was held in front of his face, and gasped a little, a smile lighting his lips as he took it happily, about to express his gratitude when Cebrien suddenly mentioned searching for a second gift. Innocent confusion lit his face as he held the cookie so careful between his fingers. "Search?.. You had time to hide it somewhere before I came down?" His confusion was adorable; he had no idea the gift was actually still on Cebrien. Green eyes looked around the foyer curiously, trying to figure out where in the world Cebrien could've hidden anything in the few seconds he had from when he called and Lieven had appeared to see him standing in front of the doorway with that grin that his pink lips had met so often before.

He grinned when he saw the shock in Lieven's eyes. It pleased the vampire to be able to surprise his lover like this. "I did..." he murmured and brushed a lock of his pink hair out of his face. "We could play...ah...what's that game? Hot and cold? You search and I'll tell you how close you are," he said and grinned, imagining the confusion that would be on Lili's face when everywhere he searched in the foyer would be cold. "What do you say, my Lili?"

Lili smiled happily as he felt familiar fingers brushing away an irksome bang that poked his eyes at times. His murmur brought shivers up his spine and he smiled again, giving Cebrien an affectionate nuzzle before taking a small bite of his cookie, and blinking at the game suggested. He rarely played games, but had learned the Hot Cold game from a book about children's games. He smiled and nodded happily, and took another bite, before stepping away a little. "It sounds fun hehe. Let's play." He smiled happily, and quickly looked around, and went to the stairs, looking to Cebrien as he stood near the potted plants and the little door under the stairs for extra storage. "How's this?"

Letting his arms slide from around Lieven, he smiled and watched him look around, then choose an obvious place. Well, it would be obvious if he'd actually hidden it in the house. "No, you're cold there, Lili~" He grinned and wondered how long it would take him to look around the room, wondered if he'd give up when Cebrien kept saying he was cold.

Lieven pouted a little as he was told he had been off with his guess, but smiled lightly as he went around the room to various places, blinking confusion as Cebrien gave him the same answer each time; Cold. Lieven was always cold. His brows furrowed in confusion, he looked around, trying to figure out where he had missed, what he had missed. There was nothing in the middle of the room, except the chandelier, but how could Cebrien reach it from where he stood. The enormous thing (at least enormous in a Pockettu's mind) was hung as far from reach as possible, and even so, there was no way Lieven's eyes could miss anything Cebby might've stuck up there. He walked to Cebrien, confusion dancing in his beautiful green eyes. "I don't know where else to look.. is it really in the foyer Cebrien?" He asked, standing before him with a pitifully cute, confused look at his failure in their game.

He chuckled a little, watching the confusion grow in his pretty face. "Well...it's in the foyer now," he said. Taking a few steps backward, he headed for the stairs that led up to their bedroom. "Now it's on the stairs...and if you keep letting me move, it will soon be in our room." He grinned then and paused on the stairs, waiting to see if he would understand.

Lieven watched in slight awe as Cebrien spoke and moved, confused at first, not quite understanding where he was getting at, but then eyes widening as he slowly comprehends the few hints he was given, and a smile graced his previously open lips. He laughed happily and ran to Cebrien again, and jumped up the stairs to meet him, laughing as he swung his arms around his love, a joy filling his face as he pressed it into the vampire's chest and breathed that so familiar scent. He looked up, a realization in his eyes.
"Are you my present, Cebby?"
.. Okay, perhaps not exactly what was in mind, but who could resist the pure happiness in a young child's face when he thinks his present is the man he was in love with? Lieven's love was strange, but all the more powerful and perfect for a person like Cebrien, who had never felt another truly admire and love his every being as Lili could.

Chuckling as realization hit his pink haired lover, he opened his arms for him and caught him as he jumped, sitting back on the stairs and holding Lieven in his lap. He kissed his head lightly, expecting to be patted down for his gift, when Lieven spoke again.
Well, damned if that didn't throw him entirely off. He blinked, his face a little shocked before he recovered and chuckled again. "Well, I could be your present, if that's what you really want. However, there's something your missing, my Lili, and if you move your hands down, oh say...three inches, you'll find what I'd meant to be your gift."
It was strange to see that level of happiness and love in someone's face. It...unnerved him, but he felt himself smiling and running a hand through his hair. He'd never felt something like this for anyone. It pleased him to please Lieven, and as much as he wondered why, he found himself trying not to poke and prod at the feeling.

Lieven blinked in confusion as Cebrien looked just as shocked as he had felt when the vampire told him he had bought things for the pink-haired boy. He watched his look fade as he recovered, but remain confused, even as Cebrien explained to him where his real present laid, and that his original intention was not to give himself as a gift to Lieven. He blinked curiously, but slowly moved his fingers down the specific three inches that Cebrien told him to, and gasped a bit at the clear bump his hands hit as they got lower. Confusion sparked in his eyes in an adorable way, as he looked up at Cebrien, but slowly reached into the vampire's jacket, and felt for the lump that was under it, sliding out the book and immediately gasping with wide eyes, looking up at Cebrien with disbelief.
"You.. Cebby.. a.. is it.." He sputtered, eyes wide as he brushed his fingers over the cover of the book so few owned nowadays, even the renditions made for Pockettu were few and far. "Omigosh.. wow.. I mean.. I-I've read version of the tales in this book but.. oh wow.. Cebrien!" He laughed so happily, his eyes watering from his joy as he hugged his precious boyfriend, the book laying in his lap as he swung his thin arms around Cebrien's neck.
"Thank you so much.." He murmured, burying his face deep into the crook of Cebrien's neck, a beautiful smile creasing his pink lips, the gratitude and appreciation practically enough to fill the air of the foyer as he held on fast to the love of his life.

He watched the confusion in his eyes as he explained, and watched as he found the real present beneath his jacket. A grin split his face as Lieven sputtered and exclaimed over the book. He really couldn't understand why he felt so happy at pleasing his lover like this, but he did, and it made him wonder why he hadn't gotten him more gifts.
"I'm pleased that you like it," he murmured and laughed softly, hugging Lieven as he's hugged. "You're quite welcome, my love," he said quietly, still not used to the feelings he had for the other Pockettu. Love was something he never expected, least of all from another male, but this man with the pink hair and green eyes had beguiled him from the very beginning. He'd been doomed since their first meeting, Cebrien just hadn't known it.
He grinned, a wicked kind of grin as he nuzzled Lieven. "Now about that other present you wanted..." he said and chuckled softly, wondering if Lieven would know he was talking about himself this time.

Lieven smiled so gratefully up to Cebrien as he replied to his thanks, and slid his arms around him. Those beautiful, strong arms around his torso.. It was so warm, and the warmth was almost intoxicating. Whoever wrote that vampires were supposed to be cold-blooded and freezing to the touch lied. Cebrien was always warm, always Cebrien. The same vampire that made his heart flutter with each murmur, with each gesture of care and kindness he got from the fanged wonder. It was the stupidest idea, a prey in love with his predator, and vice versa, but it was real.
He blinked again as Cebrien mentioned another present, one that Lieven supposedly wanted. "The other present?" He murmured cutely, lips puckered in a small curious 'o'. Moments later, Lieven remembered the mistake he had made, and smiled brightly. "What about my other present?" He giggled, a bright, adorable smile on his face.
