Yes, seriously. Touhou is doujin. Always has been, always will be.
Touhou is like the Star Wars franchise, only instead of being centered around six multi-million Hollywood blockbusters featuring A-list actors, it's centered around the quaint but awesome little videogames made by a drunken Japanese dude, and the expanded universe is not made by sci-fi and fantasy authors who get paid for this, but by fans like you and me who have decided to take it to the next level and make real fan works from this.
