|| The Hunger Games || "Hello, citizens of our fair Capitol, and welcome to the 11th annual Hunger Games! The contestants have been chosen, and will be arriving in the city this very evening! As they prepare for the Opening Ceremony, we wait, ready to cover every second of this exciting story. Until then..." The Hunger Games. The sadistic, cruel method the Capitol uses to keep its twelve districts in line. Two tributes from each district are chosen in the Reaping, taken to the Capitol, and shown off to the crowds. Then they're thrown in an arena, forced to fight to the death.
There are the Careers from the wealthiest districts, which often band together to kill off the weaker tributes before fighting each other in a final showdown. Deadly killers trianed for the Games all their lives, they are a threat to everyone. To them, it is an honor to be chosen.
And then there are the rest of the tributes. Those that suffer all their lives, and are dealt an extra dose of pain by cruel fate. They are the ones who work like slaves for the capital alongside the others of their district, forced to live on whatever they can scrape together after giving almost everything away. Usually picked off by the Careers, they may band together in small groups to try to improve their chances.
...And now it's your turn. You stood in the crowd at the Reaping, watching with all the other 12 to 18 year old kids, waiting for the name to be chosen. You hoped beyond hope that it would not be you. Or, perhaps, you hoped beyond hope that it would be you, that you could bring fame and fortune to your family. Either way, when the slip of paper was drawn, and the name was read; it was yours. You are a tribute.
Let the Games begin.

|| The Rules and the Outline ||
0: Yes, there's a rule zero, because this shouldn't even have to be here. You should know this. Obey the Gaia Online ToS; no cybering, no godmodding, etc. Simple stuff.
1: This RP is for Gylfie531 and keany-beany only. No one else may post here. Sorry.
2: We are aiming for a minimum of three sentences; not a requirement, just a suggestion to keep things running smoothly. However, third person is a must. We know that it's far too confusing if we dont post in third person, right? Right.
3: This RP will by based off The Hunger Games, but the characters will have elemental powers appropriate for their district. These are not extensive powers, but are just enough to keep things interesting and add a fantastical twist to this post-apocalyptic world.
4: There will only be two main characters, but there will be 4 full skeletons; two for each district that a main character is from. This will make it easier once the two main characters team up. This way, it will be easy to speak about the tributes that were and may be relatively well known by our main characters in the RP, and we won't have to make up histories along the way.
5: Yes, the main characters will work together, otherwise this wouldn't be a very interesting RP, would it? However, the main characters will be from different districts so this doesn't become a boring repetition of The Hunger Games.
6: Try to be active. Please post at least every weekend, and perhaps once during the week. More would be nice if homework permits!

|| The Tributes || District One I have been called Julius Correo
I have drawn breath for 18 years.
I weight 200 pounds, and I am 6 feet 6 inches tall.
I originate in District 1.
I am not helpless. I possess immense strength. However I am slow, and will easily suffer if attacked by a more agile foe. Unfortunately for my opponents I am skilled with the spear, and can use it for long range attacks.
I am also uniquely talented. I can turn objects into solid gold. This ability isn't very useful, since gold is a soft metal. However if I am able to touch my hands to a person I can turn them into gold, killing them instantly.
I have been told I can be... stupid and dense. I'm not the brightest crayon in the box, but I'm the strongest.

I weight 130 pounds, and I am 5 feet 5 inches tall.
I originate in District 1.
I am not helpless. I am agile and quick. However I have the strength of a toothpick. I fight with a dagger, which is the perfect weapon for me. I do not kill with all my might, but rather with a series of slashes to critical points in the body. Even though I fight with strategy my lack of strength is my biggest weakness. I am also deathly afraid of blood touching me.
I am also uniquely talented. My nails are made of diamond, so if I am left without a dagger I can use my lovely hands to slash others open. I prefer to fight with a dagger however, it gets less blood on my hands.
I have been told I can be... shallow. I am extremely materialistic. In the games I want to be with the person who has the most luxuries. I am also arrogant and cocky.

I am not helpless.I am extremely light. This can be both a strength and a weakness. I am also fast. However I am not strong. This fact does bug me quite a bit. I am very sensitive about my height.
I am also uniquely talented. I am immune to all poisons.
I have been told I can be... annoying, loud, and extremely cocky. I am very overconfident. If you mention my height I will explode at you, so beware. Also, I am very easily distracted.

I am not helpless. I am strong for my light weight. I can throw a javelin very well, and I am very accurate. My long limbs hinder my movements however, and I cannot run extremely fast, or climb very well.
I am also uniquely talented. I can turn water into poison.
I have been told I can be... quiet and shy. However those who get to know me find that under my sweet and innocent appearance is a frozen heart. I will kill without mercy or reason.

I am not helpless. I have no physical advantages. I am weak and uncoordinated. I am very intelligent however. I can plan attacks very well and am very organized.
I am also uniquely talented. I can control technology. I cannot however affect the barrier around the arena. Mines are fair game.
I have been told I can be... domineering. I am an excellent leader, but I do not pay any respect to those I consider less intelligent to me.

I am not helpless. I am very light and small. I can hide very easily. I do not plan to win the games with brute force.
I am also uniquely talented. I can make traps and contraptions out of just about anything. If I am provided with metal and wire I can do a plethora of things.
I have been told I can be... quiet. Too quiet. I do not talk to anyone. I hate speaking in public. I prefer to spend my time working or tinkering.

I am not helpless. I am strong and agile. I have no physical disadvantages. However I am very competitive and losing in any form of battle drives me literally crazy.
I am also uniquely talented. I can control water in its liquid form.
I have been told I can be... kind, until I get angry. Then I turn into one of the most nasty people you will ever meet. I am also a bit egotistical, since I don't lose often, if at all.

I am not helpless. I am an excellent swimmer, and I am in very good shape. I am also good with a sword.
I am also uniquely talented. I can draw water from the moisture in the air around me. I can summon it, but I cannot control it once it is out of the air.
I have been told I can be... a dirty little lair. My parents were pirates, so what can you expect? I manipulate people very well, and prefer to work behind the scenes instead of on the front line.

I am not helpless. I am very strong, made of total muscle. I can also exploit my opponent. However, I'm not that smart or very fast. After years of butchering animals, I'm pretty handy with an axe.
I am also uniquely talented. I can control earth in small amounts, and over short distances.
I have been told I can be... ruthless. I work hard and ignore everyone. I stick to myself, and only rely on myself. If anyone gets in my way, they go down. Most don't stand back up.

I am not helpless. Working with livestock has made me strong and fast. I am physically and mentally fit. However I don't see the point in trying to win the games by killing others. I would much rather rough it and see who can last longer.
I am also uniquely talented. I can sense the presence of animals, which is an excellent ability for hunting... if only I knew how to hunt.
I have been told I can be... loud. Working on a ranch with a bunch of cowboys you have to be loud and assert yourself, otherwise no one will listen to you. I am a bold person, and am not afraid to take on someone stronger or faster than me.

I am also uniquely talented. Despite my nature, I have the gift of blocking out mental assault on myself an anyone else I choose. However, they have to be near me for it to work.
I have been told I can be... extremely introverted. I don't speak much, and when I do, it's either very soft or a whisper. I'm timid and get picked on a lot. The other kids don't like me because I don't talk to anyone; they think I'm weird. I am afraid of going into the Games; I know I'll be killed immediately. I'm not cut out for this.

I am not helpless. I am a registered sociopath. I have no guilt, no remorse, only want. I want to win the games, and so I will. I am also a deadly killer, and though I lack strength, you won't have time to attack me if you get in my way.
I am also uniquely talented. I can create the illusion of pain. I can make you feel that every nerve in your body is burning with an intense heat. This ability is limited to one person at a time, and to short range however.
I have been told I can be... charming and polite. Most sociopaths are actually. Manipulating people is easy if you do it with a smile. I will have Caeser and all of the Game Makers wrapped around my finger by the end of the interviews.

I am not helpless. I am strong, and I wield an axe with skill. Still, I'm stupid and dense. I would only be good for a henchman to take care of the dirty work.
I am also uniquely talented. I can basically throw an axe like a boomerang. I throw it with accuracy, and it comes flying back to me, as I always intend.
I have been told I can be... dense. I am by all means slow, but then again it doesn't take intelligence to swing an axe.

I am not helpless. I possess brute strength, and will fight ferociously. I am weak to quick attacks that I cannot react to in time. I can fight with knives or an axe.
I am also uniquely talented. I can climb trees extremely quickly, clinging to just the bark. Not remarkable, but it's been helpful.
I have been told I can be... angry. I am vengeful and not someone you want on your bad side. Even if we're allies, I'm likely to cut you open and disembowel you.

I have been told I can be... depressed. I do not want to live. I hate my district, I hate the Games, and I hate the Capitol. I just want it all to end. Perhaps this is a gift; my life will be ended swiftly and without question.

I am not helpless. I am not strong, or fast. I am pretty much helpless actually. My power is one that saves me however. I can defy gravity, walking on walls is second nature to me.
I am also uniquely talented. I can walk on walls. This is a very strange talent considering everyone in my district can do something with thread and a needle.
I have been told I can be... I am humble, and quiet. I know little about survival, and do not know how long I can make it in the games. I am to learn as much as possible in the short time before the games, so that I may survive till the finish.

I am not helpless. I have been trained to fight with swords, knives, and axes. As a hunter, I am well prepared for the Games, and my great strength and endurance will be a huge advantage.
I am also uniquely talented. I can literally smell fear. This gives me an easy trail to follow if my targets flee, and is helpful in hunting, whether it be for animals or people.
I have been told I can be... evil. I am flat out evil. When I hunted, I would kill people for fun and blame it on accidents. This made for some simple fun. The Games will be a great opportunity to use my skills.

I weight 138 pounds, and I am 6 feet 3 inches tall.
I originate in District 9
I am not helpless. Unlike my brother, I have not been obsessed with weapon training. I fight only with a single knife and speed; once I wound someone, I don't need to fight them any more. Their blood will boil in their brain, will run from their eyes, will drown them; whatever I want. It's easy after the first hit....boring, almost.
I am also uniquely talented. Once someone is wounded and bleeding, I can control their heart rate, making them bleed out quickly or slowing it to a stop. I've had plenty of fun with this in the past, along with my brother.
I have been told I can be... evil. The other hunters were always afraid of my brother and me. We work together as a team, making our mischief and getting our work done at the same time. I couldn't imagine life without him.

I weight 144 pounds, and I am 5 feet 7 inches tall.
I originate in District 10.
I am not helpless. While I have not been trained to fight, I am calculating when confronted, and can use this to find weaknesses in my enemy. Mostly, though, I fight with my power. I am pretty good with a dagger, too.
I am also uniquely talented. I have the power to invade people's minds and see their thoughts. If I am well-rested and can focus, I can also make them see what I want them to see; I can control their minds, and make them my puppet. When I have a puppet, I can see through their eyes whenever I want to.
I have been told I can be... cruel. As a child, I was bored with the simple calculus, so I would torture the other children, stealing from them and threatening them and such. When even this failed to interest me, I would make them walk around doing my bidding. As a result, many of them hated me, and I got in trouble a lot. However, they eventually learned not to run an tell; they came to know they would be punished for disobeying me. I am very smart, and not someone you should discount. I'm a formidable foe, and an invaluable ally.

I originate in District 10.
I am not helpless. I am no fighter. I've spent my whole life learning and calculating and equating expressions; I know nothing of the battlefield. I suppose I'm fast enough, but that's about it.
I am also uniquely talented. I can solve any equation in a matter of seconds. Not very helpful here, but I do know a lot about physics and math, which could help to build something, I suppose... If I had materials, and time... Not likely.
I have been told I can be... timid. The other children ignored me because I didn't speak to them. They don't know anything about me, and I never cared to enlighten them. I'm studious, and focus on my work. Being stuck in the Games is my worst nightmare.

I weight 240 pounds, and I am 6 feet 6 inches tall.
I originate in District 11
I am not helpless. I'm the strongest of all of the tributes. I am slow, but that doesn't mean I can't run fast. I just wouldn't do well in a fight with someone who is agile.
I am also uniquely talented. I can turn into any form of plant that I wish.
I have been told I can be... quiet. I don't talk to anyone except Rosaline, who I think is the prettiest girl in the world. She's the only one I'll talk to. I've had a crush on her for as long as I remember. Other than her I am close to my family. I hate the Capitol for what they have done, and I will kill everyone on the field except Rosaline to prove my point. I will not be defeated.
Even before this Reaping, I lead an interesting life. My family was in the middle class of District 11. We didn't always have food on the table, but more often than not we did. I was the one who carried bags of fruit to the hovercrafts that went to the Capitol. All of the physical labor has made me strong, and resentful of the Capitol. I have been called Rosaline Everdeen.

I originate in District 11.
I am not helpless. I am light and agile. I know how to use a dagger and throwing knives very well. I am not strong, but I make up for this with speed. I have a vast knowledge of poisons that are not deadly, but are useful. My physical appearance is also a tool I have learned to use to my advantage. I am beautiful, though I will not admit it.
I am also uniquely talented. I can control plants.
I have been told I can be... a compassionate person who is kind to everyone. I could never kill anyone if I tried. Then again, everyone has a limit. Once when I was young a Peacekeeper beat my youngest brother, Timmy. When I saw my brother in pain a darker side of me appeared. When that Peacekeeper was sleeping that night he died, strangled by a mysterious rose bush, the roses the same crimson as the man's blood.
Even before this Reaping, I lead an interesting life. I was born into one of the more wealthy families of District 11. Everyone in District 11 had some ability involving plants, but I could actually control plants, bending them to my will. My parents forced me to hide this power, so that the Capitol would not find out and force me to work more. Still, I practiced my abilities in secret. Mastering would be no small feat, but I managed to make progress. Being chosen for the Games was the most horrifying thing that ever happened to me. I do not wish to kill anyone, but my father insisted that I learn to use knives when I was young, just encase I was chosen for the Games. We stole into the orchards at night, my powers bending the vines and branches to hide us. I weight 152 pounds, and I am 6 feet 2 inches tall.
I originate in District 12 (sort of).
I am not helpless. I am a very fluid fighter, but I also have much brute strength, which is very helpful. I cannot move as quickly as I'd like, since my weapon, the scythe, is rather unwieldy. However, give me that or something similar and I can take people out easily.
I am also uniquely talented. Once a fire has been created, even if it is just a spark, I can manipulate it, making it larger or smaller and choosing where it moves. However, using this power makes me tired after a while, and will tire me sooner if the fire is larger.
I have been told I can be... very hotheaded. I am quick to anger and very argumentative. I'm not afraid to pick a fight, because I'll often win. However, when the situation calls for it, I can be quiet and very still. I'm akin to fire; a bit unpredictable, dramatic, powerful, and yet simple and graceful at the same time.
Even before this Reaping, I lead an interesting life. In all honesty, I am from District 11. I worked in the fields there, with a scythe, cutting grain. However, I had no talent whatsoever, nothing that defined me, nothing out of the ordinary. Most people could do something with earth or plants, but I could not. For this, they were going to execute me, seeing me as less useful than the others, and a waste of food to take care of. So, I used my scythe to kill a few guards on the perimeter and escaped. I fled east, and eventually found another district, after months of wandering; District 12. There, a family took me in. I spent much time with my "sister," Cendre, and we would wander in the forest together. I was never allowed to wander in town; I would have been captured and either killed or made into an Avox. One day, when we were outside, I discovered I had the talent of fire; this showed me that these powers were not given by birth, but by environment. Since then, I have trained in the forest most days, hunting if I could. On the day of the Reaping, a sickly boy around my age by the name of Phénix Coeur was chosen, and I claimed to be he. I weight 121 pounds, and I am 5 feet 6 inches tall.
I originate in District 12.
I am not helpless. I can fight with a knife pretty well, since I hunted in the woods when we needed food. I am good at dodging and countering attacks, and can follow trails relatively well. However, I doesn't have a lot of strength, and when I'm pinned in a corner, there's not much I can do to fight back.
I am also uniquely talented. I can hide myself in shadow at will, blending in with the darkness. Obviously, this power works better at night.
I have been told I can be... mysterious. I am not often seen, dodging people by hiding myself and coming out mostly at night. I don't care much for useless information or people, and can be sarcastic in my speech. However, most of the time I will stay silent. I also have an eye for art.
Even before this Reaping, I lead an interesting life. I was basically a typical Seam kid. Both my parents worked in the mines, just like in most families. We were dirt poor, even for a Seam family, and barely had any food. The fact that I was an only child helped for some years, but they still went hungry on many occasions, and it got even harder when we took in Ardeur. When these streaks persisted, I would skip school, sneak under the fence, and go hunt in the woods with my father's knife. I became a pretty good tracker after many hours of practice. Over the years, I have acquired many extra names in the jar in exchange for rations for my parents and myself. It is really just luck that kept me out of the Games for this long.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have drawn breath for 26 years.
I weight 150 pounds, and I am 5 feet 6 inches tall.
I originate in District 11
I am not helpless. I won my years games by pretending to be helpless. Little did anyone know I specialized in stealth and poison darts. I could make plants grow rapidly. Luckily for me the arena happened to be filled with all sorts of poisonous goodies. I won the 7th Hunger Games easily.
I am also uniquely talented. I can accelerate the growth of plants
I have been told I can be... a b***h. I expect the best out of my tributes. I care about them, I really do. I was lucky to win, but I had guts and talent. I have yet to meet a tribute with the properties of a champion. I will push my tribute to their limit to find out what they're made of.
Even before this Reaping, I lead an interesting life. I was one of the poorest in District 11. My life after winning the games was almost magical. My family had food and a place to live. We didn't even have to work anymore. Still my mother and father work in the orchards and my little brothers and sisters stay at home.

I weight 139 pounds, and I am 6 feet 1 inch tall.
I originate in District 12.
I am not helpless. I am fast and light on my feet, and can climb very well.
I am also uniquely talented. I am the most powerful fire elemental Panem has ever seen. I can create and control fire, no matter the time of day, bending it to my will. Thus, I easily burned all the targets alive on the first day, at the Cornucopia. Was a simple thing, really, though it wasn't quite fair to them.
I have been told I can be... cold. I don't really work on the tributes from my district; I don't care about them...unless they look promising. If they appear weak, I don't waste my time with them. After all these years, the Games have begun to bore me.
Even before this Reaping, I lead an interesting life. I grew up with an easy life. I discovered my power by setting a whole shaft of a coal mine aflame, killing ten miners. I didn't care about much. I volunteered to go into the games at age 13 and won with ease.

I am not helpless. I am by all means an excellent stylist. I focus on the natural beauties of people. I aim to accent these features in my tributes. The color green happens to go swimmingly with the olive skin and dark hair of most of the tributes of District 11.
I am also uniquely talented. I can make objects glow or shine with a brilliant light.
I have been told I can be... reserved. I am a good listener, and I do not feel the need to always be talking.

I am not helpless. I like to make my tributes look like who they are, based on their powers. This means that they don't always match, but I can draw something from the other to make them fit, or make one the opposite of the other for contrast.
I am also uniquely talented. I can draw in pencil or ink with my fingertip on the air. This helps me to sketch out designs.
I have been told I can be... annoying. I'm obsessed with music, and a bit absentminded, but I can focus on my work. People say I ramble sometimes, but I don't think I really do. It's not like other people don't ramble or something, so I don't see how they can say I do. Oh, funny story about that...
