===About Valdin===


Name: Valdin Ashwood
Age: 27
Appearance: Valdin is a reasonably tall man, edging just over the 6’ mark, and has the sort of wiry build that one wouldn’t expect on a man who works primarily with metal. He is actually fairly well-muscled; it’s just a subtler version than the beefy, bulky muscle-man most people might expect to see. He has long, straight black hair that has a blue sheen to it; he keeps it pulled back into a ponytail, except for the bangs on either side of his face that aren’t quite long enough to pull back. His eyes are a rich golden-brown, his facial structure is angular and he has a pale skin tone with a pronounced inability to tan.
Occupation: Valdin currently lives and works as a weapon smith and an armorer, though he isn’t a very well-known one. Still, he prides himself in doing the best work that he can, and it’s enough to get by.
Personality: Taciturn and emotionally distant from most, Valdin does not make a habit out of reaching out to people. Instead, he keeps his distance and prefers not to bond to anyone, believing that he can be a better judge of character as well as be safer if he doesn’t get emotionally involved with too many people. He’s a hard worker and has been known to push himself to exhaustion in order to achieve the best results at whatever he might be working on at the time. Valdin is a patient man, and despite his rather dour exterior, he’s a gentle soul who cares deeply for those few people whom he dares to open himself up to, Reid being one of them. He almost never gets angry, and when he does it’s a cold, deliberate fury rather than the kind that lends itself to shouting and hasty actions. Even then, it’s mostly on the behalf of others, and not for any insult to his person.

Valdin likes to watch the world go by rather than actively participate, showing devotion only to his work and to the precious few whom he allows past his protective shell of disinterest. Those who find themselves in his circle of caring will wind up with a very loyal, protective friend who, despite never saying much, will go out of his way to ensure their safety and happiness.
History: Valdin spent most of his early childhood in Aerr, where he aspired to be a city guard someday. However, he found himself orphaned before he hit his tenth birthday, and he spent a few years on the streets until a kind-hearted family found him on their doorstep and, after feeding him, decided to give him a helping hand and apprenticed him to a weapon smith who was moving to the town of Korr, where he spent the remainder of his youth training and working, until the master died and he was simply left taking over the small shop. It’s not very successful, but it pays the bills enough to keep him fed – which is more than enough in Valdin’s mind.

===Red Cardinal Information===



The Northern Cardinal or Redbird or Common Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) is a North American bird in the genus Cardinalis. It can be found in southern Canada, through the eastern United States from Maine to Texas and south through Mexico. It can also be found on the Big Island of Hawaii and on Oahu. It is found in woodlands, gardens, shrublands, and swamps.

The Northern Cardinal is a mid-sized songbird with a body length of 21 centimeters. It has a distinctive crest on the head and a mask on the face which is black in the male and gray in the female. The male is a vibrant red, while the female is a dull red-brown shade. The Northern Cardinal is mainly granivorous, but also feeds on insects and fruit. The male behaves territorially, marking out his territory with song. During courtship, the male feeds seed to the female beak-to-beak. A clutch of three to four eggs is laid, and two to four clutches are produced each year.
