Basically what the title says, who is your favorite NFL player, active or retired. I know I have thought this over a few times, and that teams are not great because of one person, but the team as a whole, but I just wanted to do this for fun biggrin

My fav is Jack Lambert, a Pittsburgh Steelers middle linebacker who was with the team for ten years and went to four Superbowls. He is well known for his missing four teeth, and his face became an icon for the Steelers franchise, as well as the spirit of Pittsburgh. My mother actually met Jack when she was pregnant with me, and she said that he acted like a normal guy, not someone you'd expect to have four superbowl rings on his hand. I look up to Jack, cause he's the kind of person I want to be.

Warren Sapp. I've modeled my football career off of him, he was awesome both on and off the field. Other favorites: Derrick Brooks, Chris Hovan, Jared Allen, Matthew Hasselbeck, A.J Hawk.

The wildcat in the NFL is about as effective as the world trade centers in 2011.....too soon? xD

My favorite active player is Ray Lewis. But my favorite player of all time, without a shadow of a doubt is Joe Montana.

Quote:
[Chorus 1]
We are the 49ers
We are always fighting
And we're always exciting
We are the 49ers
We're the red and the gold
We will never fall down

Started back in '46
Kezar had a lotta tricks
Seagulls flying way too low
The Niners were the only show
Football in the park
Fourth Quarter's getting dark
Leather helmets were okay
Sunday was the day to play

Frankie Albert, Banducci, Norm Standlee, Joe "The Toe"
Vic and Tony owned the team,
The Morabito's had a dream
Played the Giants and the Bears,
Cards, Packers, we're not scared
The City helped to make the sell
They would join the NFL

[Chorus 1]

"Million Dollar Backfield"
Y.A., Joe "The Jet"
John Henry Johnson
Hugh "The King" was the best
Buck Shaw coached the team,
Nomellini, he was mean,
St. Clair ate raw meat,
The alley oops was oh so sweat
Gordy Soltau, Billy Wilson,
Abe Woodson, JD Smith,
Bruce Bosley, Hazeltine
Charlie Krueger made some hits
"Red" Hickey - Shotgun,
Brodie pass - Kilmer run
Watters, Willard ran the ball
Howard Mudd made 'em fall

[Chorus 2]
We are the 49ers
We are always fighting
And we're always exciting
We are the 49ers
We're the team they all wanna be
The team of the century

Then the 70s came along
We've been losing for so long
d**k Nolan came to town
We won three division crowns
We beat the Vikings and the 'Skins
But the Cowboys did us in
We might just have won it all
But Preston Riley dropped the ball

From that time on, it was sad
Losing never was a fad
Washington, Jimmy Johnson,
Tommy Hart, Wilcox
Played their best as a team
But never realized their dream
Thing were looking mighty lean
Then Eddie D bought the team

[Chorus 1]

Bill Walsh had esteem
Joe Montana led the team
Dwight Clark, Ronnie Lott
Dwight Hicks, Randy Cross
Fred Dean, Keena Turner
Williamson, Eric Wright
Took 'em all by surprise
With a vision in their eyes
Playoff time had finally come
We beat the Giants like a drum
"The Catch" by Clark saved the day
What else do we have to say?

[Chorus 2]

Super Bowl XVI
"Hacksaw", Wersching
Dan Bunz, Earl Cooper
Shumann, Hofer, Billy Ring
Super Bowl XIX
McIntyre, John Ayers,
"Pee-Wee" Board, Mike Wilson
Craig, Tyler, Bubba Paris
Super Bowls XXIII, XXIV
We want more!
Sapolu, Rathman, Harris Barton
Fuller, Jones, Steve Wallace
Seifert, Rice, JT, Steve Young
Bar None
Super Bowl XXIX,
We're the first team to win five!

We are the 49ers
We are always fighting
And we're always exciting
We are the 49ers
We're the red and the gold
And the tradition goes on, and on, and on... Yeah!

[Chorus 2]

We are the 49ers!

XD But my favorite player has to be Steve Young.

@Nyuupyon- That was pretty awesome. Steve Young is an amazing QB. I remember my first football game. It was a warm September day in 1998, Steve Young and the 49ers played at home against the Altanta Falcons. Second play from scrimmage Young threw the most beautiful pass I've ever seen at a live game. A 50 yard catch and run to Jerry Rice for a Touchdown. That was the same season the Atlanta Falcons would go on to Superbowl XXXIII and loose to the Denver Broncos, but even though they won the NFC that year, that day belonged to Young, Rice, and the 49ers.

@ KTS- I read a report yesterday saying that Coach Harbaugh is actually staying in touch with Smith and continuing to talk to him. He said that a Head coach must analyze everything and look into every option. With the potential lock out hurting chances of grabbing an available QB in free agency, and the 49ers possibly not finding a QB in the upcoming draft they like or feel should start for them in his rookie season, and with only David Carr on the 49ers roster as their QB, John said he's not completely ruling Smith out right now.

Well he is just looking for a backup for a real starter like Kevin Kolb, or he is cockteasing the 49er fans. You know what I remember from the 98 season T.O. saving the 49ers against Brett Favre's Packers.
