A long sword swished through the air in a giant arch, the point catching the mild, wintery morning sun, and sparkled as the snow that had caught the point devoured the weak light. The point came to a standstill, supported within the grip of a strong, slender hand. The hand led up to the billowing sleeves of the individual holding it. One elegant leg was raised, the others planted soundly to give good purchase on the gravel of the park's paths. The area was isolated and quiet, hardly a sole wandering through the park's sprawling hillocks and ponds. One lone figure, gold-amber eyes focused on the point of the long sword always carried by his side, stood alone, chest heaving with the exercises he put himself through.
Lance narrowed his eyes, hand tightening its grip, the bare, pale knuckles whitening as the other hand rose up to grip lower, the momentum carrying the blade precisely over his head and then down and around, a spiral of care and deadly accuracy, to whatever invisible foe the centaur Knight was training against. His long legs carried him along behind the blade, and the elegant movements were almost like a dance as he continued to thrust and sweep with the blade. For rare moments, all but one hoof may have been lifted as he spun, the blade directing his movements. Again, he set himself, the sword's point balanced delicately within the grip of his hands. Sheathing the sword a moment, the White Knight of Hytech stretched himself out, releasing his hair from its red-ribbon confinement, and run a hand through the cold, flattened locks, feeling the falling snow that had settled there.
Lance looked about at the white world about him, feeling the crunching stones and ice beneath his hooves and wandered whether it was worth carrying out another set of drills, or whether a hot mug of tea was more to his liking in this weather. At least he had revealed to himself that he had not lost the skills required to possess his sword, and the movements flowed through his limbs as easily as walking or running did, or holding a pencil or book. The old tag-line of 'like remembering how to ride a bike' did not fully suit this situation; whenever was a centaur able to ride a bike? Or drive a car for that matter?! Even getting on trains and buses was a difficult business! No, Lance tended to walk everywhere, after all, he was able to walk many many miles without tiring! He smiled and picked up his possessions from the bench he had commandeered, and pondered which of the city's great cafes' would be worth his time today. He decided to walk northward, not realising he was walking toward someone he had once known a long time ago, as a modern knight!

Though the world was white, a black shadow was flitting through the trees. It made no sound with each step and blended with every shadow the sun cast through the trees. The cold did not bother this shadow, she was use to weathering the elements be it rain, snow, or the blazing sun. Crime did not stop for the weather so neither did she. However it was not crime that had made the city's superheroine come to this park; it was the swish of a sword. Sleek and silent the ninja worked her way through the trees with the greatest of ease. Practicing in broad daylight was hard enough but she needed the practice. For crime didn't only happen at night either. Normally she would watch the city from her secret lair but she felt the need to stretch her legs a bit today. So she choose a park rarely frequented to staulk about. The falling snow helped to dampen any sound she made and the cold made her regulate her breathing less the cloud she exhalted reveal her presense. She even had to watch were she moved because the kursigama chain might clink against the sickle blade. Kamiko, a fully grown woman now, did have a memory of the white knight but he had been gone for so long. She honestly thought it might be his black counterpart but the snow white coat said otherwise. She smiled at the centaur from her hiding spot, her eyes shielded from the blinding sunlight relfected off the snow by her natural black mask. Perhaps he would be fun to hunt. The dog in her loved the idea so she started silently staulking the horse knight, wondering how close she could get before she spooked him. That sounded bad but he was part horse, they were perseptive animals to say the least.

Lance whistled softly as he walked, his ears twizzling as he walked past the high position of Kamiko. He did not register the delicate sounds he heard, thinking nothing of it. What he noticed most was the lack of birdsong from that one tree. All around were gentle sounds, and there was pretty much one bird to every tree, but that one... Quiet. Too quiet maybe? He stopped to look, gold-amber eyes peering up into the trees. He hummed softly in the back of his throat and shook his head. He was just being too cautious, but he couldn't help but feel he was being watched.
One pale hand gripping the haft of the sword that hung at his side, knuckles whitening with the grip he took, he decided to carry on, his head and eyes still focused on that tree for a while before thinking himself mad and shrugging, looking away and back toward the gravel path. He kind of liked the sound of gravel and ice; that satisfying crunch under hoof. And having four, it was two times the satisfaction of any normal creature! He chuckled to himself, and looked about his position. He still couldn't shake the feeling he was being followed. He stopped again, making it look like he'd lost something, placing he bag on a near-by bench and patting pockets he didn't actually have, and check his bag, then around his position, all the while keeping a weather-eye on the trees and around his position on the ground. Who was there? This was getting infuriating!
He didn't want to shout out, because if there WAS no one about, that would make him look insane, but if there WAS... what then? What if they were a thief, or a mugger? All he had on him worth a dime was his sword, and he sure as hell wasn't giving that up without a fight! He glared about, lifting his bag up again, making no show of having found what he was looking for. Instead, his ears were laid flat back, and his eyes narrowed; a very un-Lance expression.

Ah the horse was cautious as usual, she smiled to herself. Then again being a warrior he was both trained to detect the enemy and relying on natural instinct. A bonus for the knight. Were he a villian this would be a satisfying staulk but she felt she was putting him ill at ease for no reason. After all the knight was a good hyte and had been an inspiration of sorts for the young Shiba Inu. She wondered if he'd even remember her, being just a pup when he last saw her. Best to end this little game.
She made her way to the ground just as silently as she had transversed the branches. She decided to come up behind him instead of before him. Lest he should swing at the first thing that came into view. He did still have his sword and from the practice she had observed he was still quite good with it. She made her way to a skinnier tree he had already passed along his path; one that she could not possibly have hidden behind but it made for a disorienting appearance. As if the ninja could hide behind anything. It was there she stepped into view, leaning against the bark.
"Well met good sir knight. Tis been many a season since you have been seen," she said in her deeper voice. It was one she used when in her role as the superhero The Inu Warrior. The little pup was very much the well build woman, her muscles well defined in her rather skimpy outfit. Then again most things she were were skimpy.

Lance physically skittered as he heard the approach of soft foot-falls, and then the deeper, feminine voice. His hooves skittered about on the gravel and ice, but he kept his balance, ears pinned back, eyes narrow and face flushed as he glared about. The transformation to his face as he registered the words was swift; one moment strong anger and surprise, the next, confusion mixed with recognition. He stood still, grip on his sword lessening as he stepped toward the female, his eyes roving her face, his attention somewhat drawn to her skimpy outfit, however hard he tried to deny the urge to look. He was a chivalrous gentleman after all, and to stare at her physical beauty may well negate the good name he had set himself. He coughed and looked away, cheeks flushing a little.
"Ah... ahem... Many a season you say? I recognise you... but I am sure that at that time, there was less... skin... and more infant curiosity over the realms of old." Lance smiled a little haphazardly, trying his best not to make himself look too embarrassed, nor foolish. He straightened his features forcefully, and racked his memory for the canine Hyte from his past. What had been her name! There were a number of dog hytes these days, plus the kuppies. He pursed his lips a moment before the eureka moment hit, and his face lit up with a powerful grin and widening of his eyes, back to his usual jovial self.
"Kamiko!! Of course! My little charge, the Modern Lady Knight, with her picture books of the Modern Hero! I remember well! You taught me of the new era of hero, and showed me their new contraptions!" He smiled and embraced the scantily clad woman, only able to imagine how cold she must be in this weather! "How have you been? Clearly successful, my lady, clear as the snow dancing the breeze!" He smiled again, holding her out at arms length, this time truly looking her over, with a new found respect. Gone were the apprehensions of looking this stunning woman over, and now, he marvelled at her physical strength and prowess, clearly shown by her muscled frame.
"What an interesting weapon of choice, my lady! I have not seen such a blade! A sickle, and this chain! You must tell me more of this secret double life! Are you not cold?" He shrugged his jacket from his shoulders and placed it about his young friend's shoulders, taking a hand and kissing it lightly in his usual chivalrous way, before beaming broadly. "Would you care to participate in a little afternoon tea with me, my lady? I would be most honoured by your attendance!" Lance was near bouncing with excitement at the prospect of learning more of his young charge's successes and adventures.

Kamiko enjoyed the expressions that fell over the older Hyte's face. Also it was rather funny to see a horse skitter. His reaction was kind of amusing to say the least. She beamed proudly as the Knight remembered her and merely a young pup, so caught up in her ambitions too be a superhero. She remembered his curiousity as she had shown him her comic books, more specifically the Dark Knight Batman. He had been so interested in the new ways of knighthood. And he had lost none of his old ways which made her giggle a bit.
"Oh yes, my friend, a very big success," she smirked a bit as he placed his jacket around her. Every the gentleman.
"I am well use to the elements as one cannot let them stop justice from being served. I fight and protect in rain or shine; for criminals do not care the weather if the prize is big enough," she nodded sagely. She hated that one day. Pouring rain and they decide to rob a bank. Being part dog made it a bit more uncomfortable but she pulled through in the end. Though there were the occational comments about the smell of wet dog. She chuckled at his question over her weapon. True it was an asian style weapon never seen in the east. Then his request of tea made her smile again.
"Ah I cannot take such liberties in public dressed as I am. No one knows my real identity. Come, we will return to my home where you can meet my...er...squire and enjoy some warm refreshment. I promise it is quite large enough for your flanks," she grinned and started walking off towards the other end of the park. She had a secret entrance there like she did for most of the city. Mena was truly amazing in her design skills. It had taken some exploring to find out where all the entrances had been.
"Krypto, please make some tea. Jasmine. Have it set for three please," she spoke into a small communicator on her wrist.
"Yes ma'am!" came an energetic and young sounding voice over it.
A quick look around assured her they were alone and she pushed a disguised buton on a rock. A boulder slide aside revealing a passage way. She walked in, assuring Lance was full in, and closed the door behind them. It took a bit more walking and a few turns but finally they arrived at an elevator. It was one of those big warehouse ones. She escorted him in and closed the door. After a big of a trip up she opened the door to reveal a very cozy apartment. A young deer lyte came up to them, his eyes going wide at the sight of Lance.
"Ms...Ms. Kamiko?"
"Fear not Krypto. This is Lance. A fellow crime fighter, albeit from an older age of chivalry," she smiled as she walked in.
The little deer eyed him with wide eyes.

Lance nodded understandingly, and looked about as cautiously as the Shiba Inu Hyte did, but spying no others to follow their progress; after all, the centaur always preferred a quiet park to practice in, as using a sword in a park full of children certainly had its dangers, as well as pesky, inquisitive voices asking to touch or try out the sword. Not a good working atmosphere for the Knight. He followed behind the superhero version of his one time charge, and watched in astonishment as the secret entrance was revealed, and continued to be amazed as the entered deeper into the lair beneath the city. The small voice over her communication device interested him, but he remained silent and following, intrigued by the set up of this place.
"I would never have thought such an intricate system of tunnels stood beneath the city like this! Truly unbelievable my lady!" He commented, placing a hand on the wrought iron structure of the elevator, before entering and feeling the weight in his stomach drop as it rose. As the door opened on the beautifully decked out apartment, Lance gasped in admiration, hefting his satchel up higher on his shoulder as he stepped out onto the soft plush carpet. He stepped back, surprised; his own flat had hardwood floors, for ease of cleaning what with hooves! He looked about and smiled a little unsure. "Anything to wipe the hooves on, Kamiko, my lady? I would hate to muss up your glorious abode!" At the hesitant voice behind, Lance turned to see a Lyte much like the many many he had at home! He was a bit taken aback at its hesitancy toward himself, but he leaned forward and offered a hand.
"Good 'morrow, sir Krypto! It is nice to see another also plays host to Lytes! I must play host to at least 8 similar such Lytes as yourself! You seem much better behaved then my crew! Good day to you! Good day indeed!" He smiled and straightened, looking about, still apprehensive of entering the plush home of his friend. "What gorgeous surroundings you live in!" He said, smiling broadly. He pawed a little at the ground with his hoof, astounded at the sight of her home. It was much nicer then his own lofty, sterile looking accommodation. Then again, he'd never really felt a need to decorate from its original state. Seeing this place, however, he was starting to think decorating may be a good idea! At least so he could invite others to his home!

"Ms. Mena is the one who designed everything. She was more than willing to help me in my dreams considering I am her son's girlfriend," she blushed a little despite herself. She and Eli had an unusual relationship to say the least. She was pretty sure she still hadn't found all the secret rooms and tunnels the feline has installed through out the city. Also Mena as a rather mad scientist would need some hidey spaces to conduct her own experiements. She just hoped her DNA wouldn't be involved.
She pointed to a mat near the entrance which said "Clop your hooves here" that obviously was used for hooved beings. Mostly Krypto but it did help keep the place clean. While he busied himself with such things she disappeared for a quick moment to change into her usual attire; a middrift and shorty shorts.
"Ah..ah well Ms. Kamiko insisted on manners training if I was going to be her loyal ward. Sh...she says that, even if the criminal is most rude we must show the proper way to behave despite our anger," he showed the horseman where he could wipe his hooves and where he could place his belongs should he not wish to carry them. Then the small lyte showed him to a table where he had set out the japanese tea set. Krypto giggled at bit as the man kept talking of their apartment.
"Mr. Eli prefers more comfortable surroundings. Ms. Kamiko doesn't mind though and she even let me decorate my own room! May I offer you some tea?" he said taking a seat at the table. He quickly got up to arrange it more comfortably for the horse end of Lance then poured the tea as Kamiko took her seat.
"Eli, Krypto, and I all live here Lance. So it helps to have a blend of styles. Eli being more modern while my living quarters are more akin to my country's style," she grinned a bit. Yeah ok she did have some superhero posters in her room too. Old habits die hard.

Lance smiled bashfully, realising he had been babbling. Taking Kamiko's direction, and then the Lyte's helpful guidance, Lance finally sorted out his hooves and felt comfortable enough to enter further into the flat. His slender hands seemed to trace many of the alcoves and wall sconces, his eyes roving happily, ideas and plans for his own home starting to surface to the fore of his mind. On hearing that Kamiko and Eli were dating, Lance beamed and tipped an imaginary hat to her.
"A good choice for a love interest, my lady. He is a sweet man, with a sweeter disposition... even if he does somewhat sparkle!" He laughed, remembering he, Eli's and Seth's meeting in the park in the summer, and how he had failed then to mention his own love affairs, but certainly made sure Lance knew of poor Seth's! He chuckled. "Yes, a strange little fellow, I must say! Last I saw, he was talking to trees, but he was calling them dryads. I had heard of these from my legend texts; I had not realised they still existed in the hustle and bustle of this world." Lance was quite oblivious to much of the happenings with Eli; the otherworldly alliances, the magic. His mind ran on a very different path, and such things were confusing and difficult for someone that considered themselves a bit of a hero-on-the-side to handle. After all, how could a sword defeat magical evil?
As the little Lyte spoke to him, Lance nodded approvingly. The way he spoke of Kamiko's lessons, it reminded him of himself, all that time ago, teaching Kamiko the importance in honesty and chivalry. Perhaps his time had not been wasted! He crouched beside the table covered in delicious smelling tea. His height from his equine half allowed him to be seated on the floor, whilst still at a decent height for most tables! A good job, really, or he would struggle in this two-legged world!
"Spoken like a true gentleman! I remember giving Kamiko such a lesson herself, when we were all a bit younger, though I not any smaller!" He chuckled, and thanked the Lyte with a bow of his head as he graciously accepted the handle-less tea cup and smelled the heady aroma that arose from it. He sighed gratefully and sipped. It was mild and sweet, but had a somewhat roasted quality that struck a cord with the Knight, used to the traditional english tea that his people had drunk in times past; strong and palatable, but for Lance, a few sugars to sweeten the whole drink up. After all, supporting six limbs over most other's customary four needed a bit more energy! Plus... he did like sweet things!
"This is truly delightful, young sir! So sweet and delicate, without any need for my usual sugar dependency!" He chuckled and sipped again. Listening to the talk of Eli's preferences in home furnishing, Lance smiled again, looking at the intricate designs upon his tea-cup. "I must say I like his choices! My own home is... rather bland. For all eyes, it would appear that none live there, though I most certainly do!" Another soft chuckle. "I don't know how I would go about it, though. I am not one for creativity, I must say. I am a practical sort, so the bland, empty spaces suit me somewhat, but the warmth and love you can feel here. It warms the very soul to sit here!" He looked about himself and nodded, a gentle smile playing about his features, before sipping once more from his cup, gold-amber eyes slanted in a happy manner, equine limbs drawn close, and elbows kept in, as though at a true Japanese table.

Krypto looked quite pleased with himself as he was complimented by the knight for his manners. He has been amased when Kamiko told him of the training she had recieved, even if it had been so long ago, from a real knight! And now he was their guest for tea! The centaur was very strong looking and held himself in the kind of way he imagined real knights acted. As much as he would love to get more training, he was dedicated to Kamiko and her superhero work. Criminals these days didn't adhear to the sword and the shield. More like the gun and the knife. So her training was more suitable for his work.
Kamiko grinned as Lance enjoyed the tea and his surroundings. She could only imagine the cell Lance must basically live in. After all she imagined the knight lived a more monk-like life than something that she was use to. "You should allow Eli or myself to decorate your home Lance. If you wanted something more....royal.." she giggled "then I would suggest Eli's brand of decoration. If you would like more of a space concious and dojo like quality I can help you with that."
"Ms. Kamiko, can we show Mr. Lance the dojo? I'd like to show him my skills!" the small deer grinned as he drank his tea.
"I suppose so. He is interested in my weapon so we could always give him a demonstration. And you can show him your magic," she grinned. While Krypto wasn't exactly prideful in his abilities he did like to show them so he could get ideas on how to improve them. Other than setting up his snowcone cart during the summer. He did enjoy that.

Lance nodded heartened by the offer. He did indeed need some help with his abode. It really did look like no one lived there much of the time, and Lance had always said that needed to change. He smiled at the little Lyte, his excitement nearly infectious. Lance dipped his head in acceptance of the visit to the dojo.
"My dear Kamiko, you are always most welcome to my hovel! To bring your young magician would also pride me greatly. His inputs on how to accessorise my home would be greatly welcomed! You have both done a fantastic job here thus far!" Sipping his tea and humming in appreciation, the Knight chuckled and bowed his head. "I must admit, I am intrigued by your weapon Kamiko, and would greatly love to see you in action! Yourself, also, sir Krypto! I would be greatly honoured to see both of you in action; learn how the newest generation of hero stands against evil!" He drained the last of his tea and stretched himself, unbuckling his belt and sword, placing them beside the table, as well as taking off his satchel and laying that beside his other items.
"Lead on, dear friends!"
