They are ushered in by tiny, animated mascots cheerfully bombarding the top of our page. They are met by both glee and disdain, and the occasional flaming rage-train manned by sore losers and those with empty pockets. They reward us with a pixel dump of new, marvelous items and taunt us with re-releases of old favorites. They make us walk the line of chance and choice, sometimes leaving us weeping, and sometimes leaving us rolling in gold and glory.
Random Item Generators. Are they rigged, or is our luck just that shitty?

I really, really, really want the damn kitty circus item or the gothic Harlequin. Omg, need that drippy makeup for Reg. ><
I haven't had a whole lot of luck with this RIG so far, nothing worth over 100k, but the items are really nice and I'll wear 'em.
Still, wish it was like the Final Reign where I got a Sable Monarch on my second try and got an easy 1.5 mil.
I LOVE the characters on this one. Omg, gimme mr. Freakshow in mah bed. <33
And the Flying Sisters are sooooo cute. French girls. <333333

Cirque du Gothique was released today and it looks promising for long-term hoarding, since there are several notable items in it, and the theme is pretty popular with the general Gaian population. The GCD has been speculating that a circus RIG was next, so it's cool to see all the gleeful posting going on about it XD
Made 2 million on selling them on the Market place at about 115k each. 3nodding I'd like to hoard this one like I am a bundle of Final Reign.

I always buy a bundle, open three, and save 7. Though I used to open 7 and save three... big mistake there, haha. I'm trying to hoard as much as possible for my OMG quest but 25-30MIL seems impossibly hard to get to. n_n
Debating buying a bundle of this one... I think I shall. I did sign up for the monthly GaiaCash after all and with about one RIG a month they seem like the best investment. I mean, evolving items per dollar are nowhere near as much as these RIG's, even if they're super popular. Though I guess I am bad at judging which EI's will be good before I have to get a 5th Gen or something. I dunno. I just really want an OMG. D:

EIs seem awesome for long-term hoarding, but RIGs are always super crazy popular and expensive right out of the starting gate. I sell mine when there's crazy hype the first night.
I found Cryptex's guide From Soup to Nuts on RIG selling to be quite educational.
I'd personsally suggest to buy RIGs over EIs as far as gold-making goes, since EIs hold bigger risks and you can tell in 4 hours if a RIG will be popular, but it takes months to see if an EI will be. T__T

Yeah I bought a bundle of the Gothique, opened 4 when I shouldn't have, got all fail items. Still, saving 5 is good enough for me... the 10% off from the Autocash thing is pretty awesome too. o_o I was like 'shityeah....'
Still the OMG is inflating faster than I am getting gold at this point. Oh well... never been much of a MP manipulator myself or I would be way richer right now. If only I had hoarded my 7 Ancient Katans. crying I only have one left.
I always seem to get fail items when I open RIG's... the only win thing I have opened was the Sheryl Orange, and even that isn't that good of a win at this point. I need to stop opening my RIG's is my problem, haha, but it's super addicting! Like buying packs of cards!

Kat does too. I haven't opened a single one. sweatdrop I opened about 10 of Final Reign since we had that money and got about $100 in GC anyway, but mostly I just sell them. n_n Cos I fail so hardcore.
The issue with questing something big like the OMG is it's destined to rise in price with each passing month due to more members and a higher volume of gold coming into the site.
BUT if you buy $10 cash cards and sell late at night or in the morning when RIGs are at their all-time high just after their release (120k each this morning for CdG) you'll make a haul of 1,200k for each $10.
You're already at 10mil in your quest thread. If you spend $30 each month on the new RIG and sell right out of the gate, garnering 1200k x 3 (3600k) you'd get it in 5 months, not counting profits from any of your hoarding. Increasing your monthly purchasing would, of course, get you there faster and help avoid further rises in price.
But that's what I think, anyway XD

Well I'm first hoping to find someone once I get closer to my goal who who sell the OMG for 25MIL (that's my wishful thinking) to 28MIL. I have seen them going that low on the exchange, and they have been steady around that mark for most of the year now. A lot of my items I have hoarding for the quest have actually been deflating, so it's not looking so good right now. I'm just hoping to have some serious inflation on things... the Katana is gaining like 100k a month but that's about it.
I think buying one bundle of RIG's and hoarding them is my best bet. None have seen real big inflation yet that I have bought, but I know they will in time. Other than that I buy letters when the items look promising... which have been none in recent months.
I don't know, ever since I've joined Gaia I've loved the OMG. If only I had been smarter/more into the site when I joined in '04 I would be in the gold right now, man. blaugh

Same here. I bought several letters for Kiki - back when my mother was frequent on here as well. I thought I was hot s**t selling them for 3k. gonk
We've had a couple of good katanas released lately.. I'm surprised it hasn't impacted the price of the ancients.

I got a bundle of the Hells and opened two... I really don't get it though. I made it through three fights and then lost and got a fail item... so is it better to flee once you win, or is that even an option? I really don't understand these RIG's a lot of the time. n_n I only opened any because I had a dream of opening Lobo.... sigh. I may open two more if I get another bundle. Dunno. I want that OMG but it is going nowhere.

They made it kinda complicated. There are multiple levels of items (average to super-rare) that you must get to by defeating each of the bosses. Win against two and you'll have a chance at better items than if you only beat one. So it's random and you could still get crap, but the higher you get the better the items you might randomly receive.
I loved the items in Hells Prison. n_n Some awesome dark-themed s**t.. <3
