Naib snickered softly as she escaped the captivity that was known only as parents. She gave them one swift glance, eyeing the group as they slept peacefully amongst one another. She had, of coarse, woken up before the rest, and after a few moments of pushing and shoving trying desperately to awaken the rest, she failed and decided if they wouldn't wake to play, she'd find someone who was up to it. She had recently grown into a young teen, older and just a bit wiser, but still a young child at mind. She still needed her mother to feed, even if it was no longer milk she thrived off of. Her ears pricked as she stepped lightly upon the leaves, taking care not to make to much noise, and as she found herself slowly waddling away from the den, she fell to a casual trot, testing out her new, strong limbs.
Hunger was teasing her fancies, but the thought of a good hardy playmate crushed her mind and pushed any other idea out in a quick flurry.
She yawned widely, it was much too... something to be awake. But it was dificult to sleep as well. She was kind of in a bind. As it was, she was awake, and there was no changing that. Her fur rippled slightly as she shivered, and it gave her an amusing wind-tunnel look for a moment. She was once again wandering, she rarely found a time when she wasn't. In fact, she supposed she was stuck that way until she happened to find a place to stay, and as the days went on the likeliness of that seemed to dwindle.
The wind blew by again, and she considered finding something to eat, but that required work, and she was much to tired and lazy for that. Her nose twitched, and she shrugged. Ah well, food wasn't everything.
Naib continued forth a long while, her parents and siblings becoming nothing more then mere dots in the distance. Tree's shrouded her view from them soon, and then only dirt-brown earth prevailed her view from behind. This didn't bother her much, she had gained her mother's intense sense of smell and direction and was able to find her way home, hopefully.
Her paws flew above the ground clumsily, she wasn't the elegant of creatures by far, being a newly grown wolf, out and about for the first time; roughly. Her paws were still a bit large for her age and still not strong enough for a long run, or even an extended walk, but today was a tad bit different. She was urged on, even after she felt that sickening sensation of fear run through her body; she had too. As she continued on, the reluctant urge continuing to come forth and show its eerie face to the femme, she came upon a unique scent. Strange and different all at the same time. She paused for a moment, inhaling, and trying to pin-point the rough location of the strange object, but no luck. Instead of continuing this, she took a few steps further, and glanced about.
There, to the right of her position, lounged what seemed to be a lazy female, just awakening from a rough slumber. Naib quickly submitted, her tail curling under her belly and her harks flicking against her skull. She let out a whispered whine, before crouching low to the earth and pressing her body against the closest tree. There, she stayed, awaiting the wolf to come towards her, and probably eat her alive. That was the only mentality she knew of at this point, that anyone other then her mother would threaten her life and possibly kill her off in a cinch. She continued whining, pressing her skin harder against the bark; her belly now flattened against the earth.
She should have never left home. She never imagined that life outside the den was so hectic and frightening.
"Wolf," Munin stated before the other came into veiw.
Hati had already smelled the female coming, so it wasn't a surprise, but she was still slightly perturbed, probably the waking thing. She wasn't a morning wolf. She stayed about in her current position, admiring a blade of grass sleepily as she waited for the other to arrive. It didn't take long, but it did snap her out of her tranced, dreamy state.
It was a young-ish wolf, an ackward female youth. That wasn't particularly exciting or surprising, but the imediate fear on the other wolf's scent and body language was. Hati twitched her ear in confusion. It's not like the other was some little pup or a scarred older wolf. She seemed healthy enough to Hati, but the wolf acted like she had just seen a bear, her stomach to the ground and her ears back, whining.
"Woah woah," Hati said, her voice filled with the confusion she felt and with a tone she thought was reasuring. Which didn't mean it was. She stood slowly and looked at the wolf quizzicaly before continuing, "I'm not that terrifying am I?"
Naib continued to cower, her body shaking slightly. She watched through clear gold/green eyes that the female before her knew she was there, and as the other spoke and lifted into the air, she yelped softly.
Her throat was in knots that seemed to stop her swallowing all together, she began to spat up small bundles of saliva, her brain unable to handle all the activity at the moment. As the female spoke again, the first time Naib neither was able to hear through the chatter of teeth or bothered to, she tried her best to pay attention, stopping her spitting and peering towards the adult. She couldn't speak of coarse, but she did manage to shake her head, although it was pressed against the bark as well as the rest of her.
Then, something strange happened; Naib forgot how to swallow. Her throat began to bob up and down behind the thick layer of fur, and her eyes fell a pale white, this was obviously because she was so afraid at this point that she forgot the most normal ways of doing things. She tried to whine, widening her jaw's as if in mid yawn, but nothing worked. After a few seconds of trying and panic though, the female succeeded. She began to swallow down all she could, her body relaxing as well as the pump of blood in her body. She desperately wanted to be out of this situation, though the adult female wasn't all that scary, she still didn't like being around another without her large mother there to ease her stress.
And to add onto things, Naib had yet to notice the bird that perched in a neighboring tree, supposedly watching the commotion. This was both embarrassing and frightening all at once, and with all the tension, Naib felt a bit faint. Though, what could be expected to an overly sheltered pup?

Hati was feeling heavily uncomfortable now, that pup's fright was making her feel nervous and generaly not good. In fact, she was not in the mood for that at all, being as it was early and all. She didn't even know what to say to the other wolf, and was unsure anything she did say would help at all. Not to mention that she was just as confused as before. The wolf was too old to act like a pup. She took the worrying and nervousness for as long as she could stand before her already thin patience snapped.
"Quit that!" she finaly barked out, angry and annoyed.
Hati was a reeeaaaally understanding wolf...

Naib fell to a silent halt. Her eyes squished together in a wince as she crouched further, if even possible. The words of the adult cut through her ears like a knife and caused her shut up quite quickly. She tried her best not to let whines and whimpers escape her throat, but it was hard, seeing as it was a bit early and she wasn't prepared for this encounter. Instinctively, the female rolled slowly onto her back, her paws pressed against her chest awkwardly, much like her hind legs. She tried to protect her underside as best she could, her tail curling onto the opposite side of her body. She stayed in this position, her teeth chattering and her eyes still shut, for quite some time. And in all reality, she had no reason or desire to get back up until she was sure nothing was going to happen to her.
Even if this should have been pressed into her mind the first time the other spoke.
((ack, I put on the opposite side of the other wolf when I meant her own body. xD))

Hati was no longer nervous, but she was angry. To just roll over like that, just-
It went against everything that she believed. Hati had been raised in a family like that, roll over, submit, give in. It wasn't the way things were supposed to be. There was no reason for this other female to do so.
"What are you doing?" she finaly managed to get out, her anger pushed asside, "You are a wolf, will you really just surrender like that?" she finished, hoping she would get through to the female. Her voice, at least, no longer sounded so angry, instead it was cold as ice.

Naib flinched as the voice once again sharpened and tickled the insides of her ears. She listened, although still shaking and still submitting. Yet as the female before her finished, the young Naib felt a bit agitated. Why, she was not just a wolf, but a young teen, half the size of an adult. There was no reason for the young one NOT to feel threatened and submit in an instant. Of coarse, the other did express concern and bewilderment before she became aggravated, much like Naib was now. Though, she wasn't actually going to respond in such a way that this emotion would rub off, but she did reply to the female.
'I-I'm a wolf yes...but....'
And with that she didn't say another word. Her throat was caught in knots, once again.

"But what!?" she found herself snapping again, before breating a few times, attempting to calm herself before continuing, "Are you afraid? Of what? Why? If you have something you are afraid of you should stand up and defend yourself. No one else should, if you can't do that for yourself, you are better off dead," she finished, trying to explain fully, but finding herself incapable of expressing exactly what she meant to the young wolf. It was hard for her to tell others about her beliefs, most held similar values of pride and strenght. They weren't dogs. She had tried to explain it to her mother once too. It had left her without a home, not like it mattered, she would live free and proud, even if she was alone, just as she had said then...

Naib shuddered. This, was the brutal truth of the world. A cruel, harsh life lifted beyond the landscape of protecting parents, and she was just introduced to it. Her eyes were now opened to the grim, and utterly horrid truth.
She froze, her gaze not exactly on the adult female before her, but off towards the side. Dead. She was better off, dead. 'I....I....' She whispered, her tail loosening slightly. Her tension that continued to build was bulking up as the words slipped quicker and quicker through her mind, raveling about every thought she has ever had. She was much to young to stand up to an adult wolf, or much of anything, but she was at a gullible stage at this point, and fell straight into what seemed to her to be a trap. Her mind was lost in these words the adult spoke, and she couldn't help but feel her whole identity shift. Nothing her parents had ever said seemed to matter, or even be recognized in her brain further. Any old idea's and patterns of life and reasons for living were out the window, and only the sheer slice of 'You should stand up to defend yourself. Other wise, your better off dead.' caught her. Captivated her. Became her.
She continued to stare into the abyss. Her eyes neither blinking or showing signs of life in them for these brief moments, then suddenly she came out of this trance, and saw the other still in front of her. He growled softly, her nose flaring with the intake of her scent once more, she was no longer comfortable with submitting to this adult, rather she felt the urge to simply run off. Much like a panicked cat must feel when being approached on the street by a stranger. They only want to get away. She took her weak position and changed it all together, lifting onto her paws and almost pushing against the other females mass, but just finding herself out of reach. She gave the other female a weary glance before showing some signs of tiny fangs. The thoughts that seemed to have left the female were once again back into her mind, but the ultimate controlling idea was what the adult had said, and at this point felt the most important. She didn't speak a word, but she had half a mind of leeching out and snapping.
This what you want? She uttered within the confinements of her mind. Was this what you wanted to come out of me?
Obviously, she wasn't all right in the head.

Hati watched the wolves transformation with still thick confusion. She had never watched anyone make a mental giga-flop before. The wolf was getting out of the submissive position, almost lashing out, her fanfs showing and a growl. Hati was unsure of what to make of it, but decided to stick with calmness rather than just leaving the crazy wolf behind.
"Well, that's a little better. It's not like you need to come flying at every wolf with one of two positions though," she added, sounding a bit stretched.

"Oh, please don't apologize, you don't need to, you are your own wolf I suppose. M'name is Hati, Yours?" she asked, letting her exhasteration evaporate. It was really much too early. As she seemed to be reminded lately, she was too old to fly off the handle like she used to. The wolf probably had like, a strikt pack or something. She could smell the other wolves on the other, who didn't even seem to want to be there. She wrinkled up her nose slightly at the thought of having a strickt pack. She was a bit lonely for companions, but she didn't want those kind of restrictions put on her. She didn't want to feel like she was living with a pack because she needed to, not because she wanted to.
She wondered if this wolf wanted to be where she was.

Naib shrugged at the adult females words, and whispered. 'I suppose.' Then she paid close attention to the next few comments that were made. 'Hati, Pleasure. I'm Naib.' She tried to force a smile on her maw, which turned out more of a failure then she expected. Her face was lopsided at this point and she looked like a deranged creature rather a smiling pooch, but she tried at least. She then shook her pelt, trying to rid of the anxiety she felt and tried to calm herself a bit. She had come out of that boring den for a purpose, and she supposed that this was going to have to do.

"... Nice to meet you Naib," she managed, pleasure would have been a bit of an overstatement. Not that she disliked the wolf, she just wasn't sure what she thought of her. Naib was... odd. Which was an understatement at the moment.
She yawned again, and blinked heavily, before deciding to lie down. As she settled her paws calmly in front of her, crossed slightly. She looked at the other wolf for a moment before deciding to continue, "What brings you to these parts Naib?"

Naib gave somewhat of a nod to the female, before taking a good look around her while the adult let out the yawn. She then pricked her ears as Hati spoke once more. 'Oh, well...' She pondered on this, should she tell her true identity, and allow this female to know why she was here? Or should she lie on the spot...
Eh, there was no point in lying at this moment, she was to tuckered out too anyways.
Naib straightened slightly, her tail curling about her thigh as she did so. 'I was born here. What brings you to these woods?' An ever so tiny grin appeared on her lips for a flash of an instant, before she controlled herself and turned back to the calm, yet somewhat worried expression.

Hati shrugged, she had been too busy being sleepy to even notice the small grin. Ah, how to respond to that question? Nothin particularly brought her here. Walking? She supposed the quest for adventure wasn't quite right. Obviously not looking for crazy little wolves.
"Boredom," she finaly settled on, stretching her paws foreard lazily. It was quite too early, and she didn't know where to head to next. It felt like she was getting a bit too close to other territories, so she'd probably have to double back. Maybe head toward a mountain. Who cared.
