Rai stands in the middle of the open area waiting for the opponent who will show up to take him on in this open challenge. Rai is hoping to get more than one person to join and to have a team fight but knows better but he still hopes. Rai leans on a tree looking down at a book that he is reading, Further inspection would show that the book has no real title but instead looks like a lil black book that Rai has been collecting small info on different ninja in. He is much interested in the bloodlines of villages and wishes to test his mettle against those that he respects.

Illovae's shoulder length grey hair billowed behind her as she walked, the gentle breeze twisting strands of it, adding to its usual messy look. Looking around the field with her unblinking, silver eyes, Illovae glanced towards the figure in the center, a tall man with red hair, clad entirely in black. Her opponent. After observing Raistyln for a moment, the rouge ninja unzipped her black, knee length coat to the waist, with only a few buttons on the lower part of the coat still holding the opening together. With a slight shrug, Illovae slipped her arms out of the coat and let it fall backwards, hanging down around her waist with the sleeves almost touching the ground. With her coat off, Illovae's thin form was revealed, with a dark gray sleeveless top, her pale and thin arms were easy to see, the wiry muscles standing out enough to remove any thoughts of low physical strength. Black, thorn-like markings swirled over her pale skin for a moment, the dark patterns being the only visible sign of her Kekkai Genkai in its dormant state. After a second or two, the majority of the markings began to vanish, disappearing beneath the skin once more, the lone exception being the markings on her right arm. From these markings rose several short, greenish brown vines that wrapped around her arm, thorns rising from each to form a spiked, gauntlet-like shape.
Now prepared to begin, the pale ninja wandered towards Rai, stopping a few meters away before asking, "So, are you ready to begin...?"

Rai looks up from where he had been focusing and notices this new arrival. Rai flips a few pages and gets to the arrivals face in his book... Rai's own personal Bingo book. "Looks like you have made quite a name for yourself." Rai mutters to himself. Rai looks from the book towards the woman in front of him.
"How about we make this fight interesting?" Rai says his hand holding the Bingo book placing it back inside of his leather trench coat. He then moves the hand back to its place at his side. "If you win you can ask one favor if I win so could I." Rai says as he smiles slightly.

Illovae shrugged at Rai's request, such a bet would not affect the outcome of a battle. And she would win regardless. Nodding, she agreed. "Why not? It gives me an extra reason to avoid losing. Let's do this." she stated, raising her right arm and swinging it towards Rai, three long vines whipping out of the mass around her arm and scything through the air towards her foe, jagged gray thorns along their length adding an extra danger to the strike. As they neared Rai, the thorns branched out at the end, each one splitting into five, now resembling long, twisted claws, almost completely covered in thorns. As she unleashed her first attack, Illovae's left arm began to swirl with black thorn markings and some greener tendrils rose from it, creating a gauntlet similar to the right arm, though with the vines creating more of a dense covering, giving it additional defensive capability.

Rai starts sealing as she starts to speak. He finishes the seals and hits his fist palm open to the ground. In front of him about two feet shoots up a wall of molten rock. "Lava Release: Molten rock barrier." Rai says as the wall of heated rock blocks him from view. Rai was expecting this attack and as such had already prepared some fun little counter measures. The rock while it normally would cool quite quick wont because of the Lava that is underneath. This serves as it cools enough to keep its shape but not enough not to set things on fire.
"Hahaha. If you were thinking that this fight would be easy maybe you should realize that we are standing in a Dormant Volcano... not a dead one... So the lava is there making my Lava jutsu so much easier to use." Rais voice says as he starts making more hand seals.

Illovae moved her arm slightly as Rai used his jutsu, pulling back her vines as the wall of molten stone rose from beneath the earth, only the ends of a few vines burnt from the heat. With a slight flick of her wrist, the rouge ninja sent the vines in her right hand smashing into the ground, piercing the earth and growing rapidly as they entered, thorns bursting forth from each vine to vie it extra protection from the heat as they spread through the ground. Directing her thorned vines to avoid the wall of lava, Illovae created a small network under the earth, vines layered thickly in some areas to prevent another sudden burst of stone, or at least alert her if one came. A small number of vines rapidly spread through the ground, centering in on Rai and shooting out of the earth, the long thorny tendrils whipping around the ground and beginning to constrict around his legs, the hardened thorns protecting the hydrated green vine from most damage.
As she created her network of vines, Illovae lifted her right arm, pointing it towards Rai and opening her hand, her pale palm now pointed directly at him. A long, thick tendril surfaced from her palm, the vines already coating her left arm shifting and wrapping around the large growth. From its tip, numerous gray thorns grew, their tips all meeting at one spot to create a razor sharp point, the thorns coating the outer vines almost completely covering the surface and pointing away from the tip, giving it a more streamlined look. After a few seconds, it was finished, a huge mass of vines all wrapped around the central core to protect it from the heat of the lava wall, and the spiked end to penetrate it. Thrusting her palm forwards, Illovae extended the vines, sending the massive tendril crashing into the wall of lava. Flames sprouted along the thorns as they passed into the lava, the outer vines unraveling slightly and swelling for a moment to open up a path before they dried out completely and began to melt away as well.
From Rai's end of the wall burst three tendrils, the outer two dried and cracking, bursting into flames as the massive middle vine continued forwards towards Rai's chest, the thorns on it's tip slightly charred, but still more then strong enough to pierce the skin. By the time the massive vine was about to strike Rai, the other vines had already whipped out of the ground, about to constrict and hold him in place to prevent him from dodging.

Rai was amazed at the speed at which she was attacking and the sheer ferocity of the attacks. This was a very worth opponent and more than that she would make a very good partner to help him with his plans should she choose to join him on his quest. Rai though was not about to be done so quickly. As the vines started to spread under the ground they would come into contact with the hot lava which he had called forth at the beginning of the match. The main reason for him talking in the first place he only needed a few seconds to bring the lava here to the surface after all they were in a Volcano.
The Rai who was still standing in the spot though when the vines came through the molten rock barrier was nothing more than a clone. Rai had quickly done a crystal lava clone that was going to do what he needed it to... be attacked so that it could explode in a volley of crystal shards and lava. Rai was now around the back of her a good ways away and was hidden. ' Hmm.. I need to find the flaw in her armor... she has good defense with a dangerous offensive as well. Her speed is something that would take most by surprise and as such I need to be on the look out for vines at every turn.. this might be a little more difficult than I thought.' Rai thought to himself.
Rai makes a few more seals and then releases his next jutsu. "Lava release: Smokescreen no jutsu." From the area around his clone starts to form a huge cloud of black smoke that will cover the entire area within moments. Once this happens Rai will have the upper hand because of his eyes.

Rai's clone exploded as the thorned vine penetrated its chest, the tendril bursting into flames at the sudden explosion of lava from the destroyed clone. Multiple chunks of crystal sped towards Rai's lava wall, smashing into it and stopping harmlessly, the occasional one bouncing off one of the more solid parts. Pulling her hands away from the vines, Illovae let them break off, disconnecting her contact to them as the burning or destroyed vines were now useless. As the wall of lava gradually subsided, sinking back down towards the earth and leaving a small puddle of lava on the ground, the pale ninja noticed a large smoke cloud rapidly spreading from the destroyed clone, it's dark mass obscuring the light and reducing visibility.
Unclipping the last buttons on her coat, Illovae let it fall to the ground before activating the second level of her Kekkai Genkai. "Meisters Des Dornen." The black markings of Illovae's Kekkai Genkai rose to the surface, covering most of her body and leaving only small gaps of uncovered skin before the thorns began to rise. Vines began to rise from Illovae's skin, wrapping around her arms and legs, elongated jagged thorns sprouting from the vines to protect the unguarded knees and elbows. From her torso came more vines, these wrapping around the entire chest, tiny thorns along their length sealing the gaps and creating a line of spikes along her spine. As the legs and arms were covered, the vines continued to rise, wrapping around the hands to imitate gauntlets, a long thorn tipping the end of each finger resembling talons and smaller ones atop the knuckles. Similarly, her feet were also covered, small thorns protruding from the bottom of her feet to give her better grip on the earth and decreasing the time it would take to get more vines into the ground.
Finally, a pair of large wings sprouted from Illovae's armoured back, large and unwieldy, covered in thorns, but along with the rest of her viny armour, far stronger then steel, and about as dense. As the smoke cloud neared her, Illovae beat her wings, effortlessly sending small gusts of wind to keep the smoke away from her as she looked around for Rai. Frowning slightly at her inability to spot him, Illovae raised both armoured hands to chest height, before swinging them both to either side, long thorned tendrils whipping out of each and slashing through the surrounding landscape. The immensely strong thorns cleaved through trees and shattered stone, Illovae's wild attack destroying much of the landscape in one fell swoop as she sought her foe.

Rai saw what was happening with a type of amusement that was born of intrigue. Rai was thoroughly enjoying himself and this just seemed to get better and better. Rai watches and sees the wings. 'I wonder if those are fully operational yet or if she cant fly with them yet.' Rai thinks. 'I must keep her grounded or else this fight will become a lot harder.'
Rai starts to move before the ground he was standing on was destroyed. Rai has no choice now but to start a new jutsu on the fly. Rai makes a few hand seals and then releases it. Lava release: Launched Lava spears no jutsu. The area that Rai had just stood on turns Red hot and then starts to shoot towards Illovae burning anything in its way. Rai's next trick is to attempt to dodge the motions which he has picked up already as a flailing of the arms.

Disconnecting the vines she had just used to attack, Illovae raised her left hand to head height, "Fortification of Thorns" she stated simply, the vines she had buried beneath the ground earlier growing rapidly and shooting upwards, weaving together to form a solid wall of vines and thorns to block the lances of fire. As the lances struck, Illovae brought her left hand down again, clenching her fist as she swung, the wall of thorns bending and collapsing downwards to contain the lava, bursting into flames even as the attack was stopped. Shifting her feet slightly, Illovae settled into a more defensive stance, dense vines moving from beneath her feet to reinforce the lava damaged network she had set up earlier.
Clawing her right hand, Illovae swung in the direction of Rai, causing several spiked vines to launch out of the ground towards him, the highly compacted thorns on them giving the vines a greater resistance to fire, though it was still only minor. With another sweep of her left hand, Illovae created several towers of thorns, masses of vines coiled around each other rising from the dried earth to add some obstacles into the battlefield.

Rai is getting tired of playing so defensive with this one.. Rai sees the vines coming and pulls out his sword(s) and procedes to use it to hack his way through the vine. The blade being made form black Diamonds and the edge being superfine diamonds the swords can cut even steel. Rai uses the sword on the spiked vines that were coming at him moving to the side and cleaving through the entire vines that would have hit him.
Rai hits his swords into the ground and makes a fast amount of seals. "Lava Diamond release: Red Diamond Tombstone no jutsu." The ground all around Rai again starts to heat up and tombstone sized Chunks of Lava shoot out towards Illovae. Once these tombstone sized slabs hit they will then break away into Red Diamonds shards that will cut through most things due to them being Diamonds. Rai has seen this jutsu easily cut through steel.
Rai then jumps backward and disappears into the black smoke that has now covered almost all of the area now. Rai is starting to go on the offensive and he knows that soon he will have what he needs to achieve the final victory.

Raising an eyebrow as Rai released another blast of lava, Illovae settled into a crouch before folding her wings in front of her, the immensely dense vines and thorns of her defensive form ready to deflect his attack. The temperature suddenly rose as the lava neared, the immense heat scorching the ground they passed over and charring the wings from a slight distance. With a sudden movement, Illovae unfolded he wings, opening them with a sweeping motion that caught or deflected the lava, the wings instantly bursting into flames. As the wings opened up however, the rogue ninja was activating the first level of her Kekkai Genkai, "Rustung Des Dornen" Dashing forwards, much of Illovae's thorn armour fell away, the wings, the vines around the upper arms and legs, and the spikes covering the joints fell away, turning black and withering as she dashed away from the burning wings.
With the increased speed from her Kekkai Genkai's first form, Illovae sped away from the burning wings, waving a hand to create a wall of thorns behind her to stop any nasty tricks that the tombstone sized slabs of lava might contain. Jumping up as she neared a tree, Illovae kicked into it, the thorns on the bottom of her feet stabbing into the wood and stopping her from falling as tiny vines sprouted from the thorns and began to worm their way into the wood. Glancing towards her barriers, Illovae watched as the lava exploded, shards of flaming diamonds erupting from the burning wings and bursting forwards, the viney barriers whipping out tendrils to intercept the shards as they passed. After the diamonds had been stopped, Illovae dropped down from the tree, its trunk now only a withered husk after having its nutrients and water absorbed into Illovae's armour, which was now noticeably a shade greener.
Thin vines coiled around Illovae's neck as she walked towards the cloud of smoke, the vines weaving around each other and creating a webbing to cover her mouth and nose, acting as a filter to keep out the smoke. Raising her right arm, holding it so her palm was nearby her left shoulder, Illovae swept the armoured limb in an arc, sending a barrage of thorns shooting through the smoke at high speeds.

The sound of thorns flying though the air was heard all around as a figure comes staggering out of the Smoke. The figure is covered from head to toe with thorns ad seemed like he was hurt extremely.
Rai, It seems, had been hit with the barrage and was bleeding some black and crusted substance. He walks towards the tree line and where Illovae was hobbling as he did so. Once he got to the tree line he looks up and smiles and as he does something will hit Illovae. The smell of black tar and oil. The Figure of Rai then explodes covering the entire area of the front of the treeline in an oil that is highly flamable.
The Real Rai who was still inside of the smoke smiled as he finished the seals he needed for his next part of this jutsu. "Supreme Lava Release: Erratic Lava Eruption no jutsu". This jutsu cause geysers of Lava to shoot out of the ground with very little warning. Rai himself does not know where the Lava will errupt from but can control the size of the area and after seeing Illovae's little trick knows where to attack. Rai is going to burn the plant life around them to the ground. The oil will ignite in a glorious display of fire the heat of which should also draw what little water in the air out of it in an attempt to make his fire jutsu even more powerful.

Illovae jumped backwards as her opponent wandered forwards, noticing that he appeared to be bleeding, a gooey black substance leaking from his wounds. remembering what happened last time she thought he had been wounded, Illovae waved her hand, raising a wall of thorns in front of him. With a sudden explosion, the figure vanished, black tar and oil spraying everywhere and coating the area in black, the lone safe zone directly behind Illovae, her wall stopping the oil from hitting her. Moments after the figure had exploded, flames burst out from beneath the earth, the immense heat setting the oil and tar alight, the grass bursting into flames as the fire spread towards the trees. Frowning as she realised what he was trying to do, Illovae sprinted forwards, blurring with speed as she moved towards the trees once more. Waving both arms, the pale ninja quickly created a large wall of thorns, stopping down, or at least slowing, the oncoming wave of fire.
Holding her arms out to either side, Illovae closed her eyes for a moment as vines suddenly began to grow out of her armour at rapid speeds, each tendril shooting away and stabbing into the trees, soon followed by more vines until they had connected all the trees in a web-like network. The outer trees in the network began to die, withering quickly, seemingly sapped of all moisture, with other trees closer to Illovae showing signs of it as well. In moments, all the trees were blackened withered husks, several of the outer ones alight after a lava spout rocketed up from beneath the earth. With flames eating away at the barrier in front of her, and several of the trees behind her on fire, Illovae prepared for her final form. "Dornenzorn" The now lush-green vines composing Illovae's armour twisted and grew, vines covering every inch of her body once more, long thorns protecting the joints and tipping the ends of her fingers and toes, a long tail of coiled vines also forming, the thorns at the end forming a razor sharp point. Vines shifted over her head, wrapping around it and forming an imposing helmet, long jagged spikes rising from the top to resemble a crown. Lastly, came the wings. Fully operational creations of intricate vines, large spiked tendrils making up the basic frame with thinner vines creating the webbing between them.
Disconnecting the vines connecting her to the trees, Illovae flapped her wings, rising from the ground with mighty gusts of wind beating back the flames around her, the barrier she had created earlier completely alight and already half gone. Ascending into the air in her now emerald vine armour, the moisture from all the trees stored in several large vines on her back, Illovae glanced over the battle field, seeking out her foe. With a small flick of her tail, Illovae began to manipulate the vines beneath the earth, large tendrils rising from most areas of the smoke covered land to whip around, a basic attack to draw Rai out of hiding. Several locations didn't have vines come out however, small charred patches of land revealing the location of several previous lava spurts. Raising both arms to shoulder height, each directly out at the side to resemble a crucifix, Illovae's armour began to grow thorns, jagged spikes soon coating the front of her armour before they were also shot, launching at high speeds into the smoke.

The sound of her thorns can be heard as they bounce off something that sounds... metallic.... The smoke now starts to clear to show that there is a ball of a black material that looks like a metal. The shape is that of a ball and it looks like a great many forms of threads are all around the ball... in fact the ball was made of these threads that were razor sharp. The threads themsleves were made of a black material that was not magnetic nor was it able to be rusted. It stayed sharp like diamonds and Rai knew from experience that his threads could bust through diamonds if given enough times. After the thorns hit him and bounce harmlessly off of his now protected form The threads start to swirl cutting the near by vines to a finely cut grass... not even one Thorn left on them.
"So you made me show you one of my great secrets... " Rai says to her his voice one of respect. Most people never knew about this fact of Rai as he kept it a great secret. Rai makes some hand seals and then looks directly at her. "Lava release: Burning of the sky no jutsu" Rai says as he watches a thick black cloud start to roll over the area due to the excess heat. Rai had used his lava jutsu for a long time and knew that given the right conditions he could easily influence the weather. Rai Watches as the Ground all around him starts to open up with long red hot diamonds that seem to shoot into the air at odd angles. This is to get the maximum coverage of this jutsu as this jutsu will cover the sky with super heated Diamonds that will then rain down on the area in front of Rai.
