Squad 8 members need to be pretty adept in all ranges of combat. They need to masterful tacticians, while utilizing a versatile arsenal of skills. Use these grounds to practice all those required skills in order to evolve yourself.

Ichiran walked into the training grounds of squad 8, looking around and seeing if anyone was here. Seeing no one, Ichiran ran over to a tree and climber up, sitting on the top branch and balancing himself on it. Relaxing, Ichiran grabbed a cigarette out of the front pocket of his jacket and put it in his mouth, unlit. Standing, Ichiran drew one of his back-up wakizashis from inside his cloak and threw it across the training grounds at an angle, so that it would lob into the middle of the field. As it was still in the air, Ichiran pushed off of the tree with all of his might, launching about 30 feet with the air time that he got. He landed with a soft thud and a grunt as he rolled, minimizing the damage from the fall. Once he was back on his feet, Ichiran ran as fast as he could, making it to the middle of the field just before his wakisashi hit the ground. When it was about three feet away, Ichiran attempted to snatch it out of the air. He halfway succeeded, however, as he caught it, but also received a large scratch across his palm. Biting his lower lip to keep himself from crying out, Ichiran crouched low to the ground, extending his left leg outwards as he tossed the wakisashi into his left hand and extended his arm along his leg, holding the blade perfectly aligned with his leg as he spun in a circle in a leg sweep, kicking up dirt, dust and grass as the blade and leg swiped across the ground. Standing back up as he spun, Ichiran came to an abrupt halt and threw the small katana at a tree about 50 feet away. The blade sunk in about 4 inches until the sword came to a stop. Ichiran ran towards the tree, closing the distance in about a minute. When he reached it, he grabbed his zanpaku-to out of his sheath and sliced the tree horizontally, cutting into it. Just when the blade of his zanpaku-to got to the point where it could stay in the tree on its own, Ichiran grabbed the other wakisashi out of his cloak and stabbed into the other side of the tree. After he had done this, Ichiran ran into the forest and ran up the trunk of a large tree, stopping on a branch near the top. From here, he began to jump from tree to tree, stopping at the tree that his zanpaku-to and wakisashis were still stuck in. With a grin, Ichiran got an idea. He tied his cloak to the tree branch, and tied the other side around his waste, and then jumped down, stopping at the bottom and pulling his swords out of the tree and then bungie jumping back up into the tree. With a grin and a small chuckle, Ichiran put his cloak back on and jumped out of the tree, running full speed at the middle of the training grounds. When he reached it, he once again stopped and turned, throwing all of his weapons into the soft earth. They all bunched together in a perfect little triangle with no visible gaps inbetwean any of their hilts. Ichiran jumped on top of them and balanced with one leg, standing perfectly still as he meditated, finally lighting his cigarette as he caught his breath and focused on slowing his heart beat down. He listened to the sway of grass in the wind, the birds in the trees, and finally, he listened to the still that was his calm. He appeared motionless, standing on the hilts of his weapons, but it was as if he was in a coma. His senses were heightened, allowing for him to hear better and sense any enemies that may have been approaching, but shaking him out of this trance would be near impossible. He could only come out of it of his own accord. Ichiran stood there, listening to the calm that was the seireitei. Feeling the blood running down his hand and onto his leg, Ichiran mentally frowned, feeling distressed. Isn't it strange that my personality, my flaws and my character, everything that makes me.....ME, is dependant upon this hunk of meat that is my body. Ichiran said, confused as he was about the condition of life. He continued to stand there medatatively, waiting for a newcomer to arrive so that he could get some real training in.

Noting that he would soon commence an intensive training with the Captain, Kinsetsu headed over to the rarely used training grounds. They were rarely used due to the recent activities occuring, causing much of squad 8th's time to be spent gathering intel on the problems that arose. As he entered the open field he noticed the new figure within the grounds, a rarety in itself that someone was present. The individual was almost comical in action as he was saw him jump up and down a tree. "Hmm, a new training method I certainly won't follow." He continued to look onwards as he approached to finally find himself within a few paces of the now smoking shinigami. As his presence remained a complete surprised since he always maintained a controlled reaitsu aura he felt the need to put a little anxiety within the mind of this shinigami. He did not particularly like the image this shinigami was portraying upon the training grounds of the squad.

"Well Ichiran, I hope this is not how you maintain your fitness. It would be wiser if you actually used that sword to swing instead of a seat." He did not need to introduced himself as they had already met within his office.

"Possibly it would be wiser that you practice your skills. Here in squad 8 we are very fond of our Kido skills would you mind demonstrating to me a Byakurai, which you certainly would have learned within the academy."

He wished to test the shinigami immediately, hoping that despite the image he currently portrayed his skills weren't lacking.

((Sorry it took me so long to reply. school has been crazy this week. ))

Ichiran opened his eyes just a little bit, and seeing Kinsetsu talking to him, Ichiran opened his eyes all the way and stood up, taking his zanpaku-to out of the ground. Walking over to him, Ichiran bowed respectfully and said, "Of course this is not how I stay fit, Fuku-taicho." Turning on his heel, Ichiran pointed his index finger at the tree that he chopped up just a minute earlier. Turning back to kinsetsu, Ichiran smiled and said, "Hado #4, byakurai." He hoped that he would not take his smile as sarcasm, he was just in a good mood. The beam of lightning launched from his finger and sped towards the tree, hitting it center mass. "I have completed your task, fuku-taicho. Now what would you like me to do?"

He had garnered the attention of the young shinigami rather quickly as he rapidly had descended from his perch upon the sword. Proceeding over to him he bowed then performed an adequate Kido that he had requested of the shinigami. Sitting idly by he was not impressed but also not dissapointed. The shinigami did not show the typical discipline of others but he was not lacking in the skill at his level.

"Well, your Kido's are adequate enough. I must say I'm satisfied in that respect but am wondering on your swordmanship. Shall we?" He proceeded to unsheath his own sword, allowing it to rest upon his side as he awaited for Ichiran to put his own sword in his hands.

Reikai looked around, tilting her head at the sight of Ichiran and the 8th division fuku-taichou training. She perked up, interested at the sight and hid in a tree to watch.

((I hate school))

Ichiran bowed once again, and turned to Kinsetsu, drawing his zanpaku-to from his sheath. Stepping forward--.....no, not stepping, more like jumping--Ichiran began to circle around Kinsetsu, holding his zanpaku-to out in front of him. He watched the muscles in his legs, looking for any tensing or flexing that would indicate that he was about to attack. After circling him 5 times, Ichiran took the initiative. He jumped forward, raising his zanpaku-to over his head and letting out a vicious roar. Right when he was striking, he noticed Reikai out of the corner of his eye, and couldn't help but smiling. back to the battle, I can't let myself get distracted right now. But still, while he struck down, he though about her, and he used her as his motivation. i'm not gonna give up while Reikais around.

Reikai watched Ichiran make the first move and couldn't help but smile when she realized that he had noticed her. She would've given him a small wave, but didn't want to distract him furthur from what he was already doing. As she waited for the fight to end, she let her thoughts drift off, eyes still on the fight.

Kinsetsu briefly noted the emergence of a new form within the training area. He did not devote much attention towards the individual as Ichiran, despite being relatively new still required him to pay attention in combat out of respect. He allowed the shinigami to circle around him, without displaying the slightest change it stance, that would occur when Ichiran eventually decided to perform his strike.

After repeated circling, Ichiran finally performed his maneouver, letting out a loud roar to demonstrate the intent of his strike. Screaming or shouting loudly only expended energy and although it could put forth a good display it was rather useless he mused. The strike was directioned from above and although Kinsetsu could dodge this it was made easier by the slight shift in Ichiran's eye as he also noticed the newcomer. Using that slight instance he performed a 180 heading forward that placed him at the left side of Ichiran's back. He could likely strike to cause serious damage, but instead he merely continued the momentum of his movement to allow the hilt of his blade to be directioned at the back of Ichiran's head. It certainly would not kill with such a strike, but would cause quite the spliting headache.

Ichiran desperately tried to block or evade, spinning himself around 180 degrees in mid-air and putting his arms up above his face to absorb the blow. The result was him getting smashed in the arms with the hilt, leaving a big bruise and possible fracture. Wincing, Ichiran landed, skidding for about 3 feet before he stopped. He looked back at his vice captain and smiled. This is gonna be fun. He thought to himself. He held up his index finger and said "Wait." as he turned to Reikai and waved. He ran towards her and gave her a small bow as he said, "I'm sorry for leaving without saying goodbye. But, back to the battle." Turning back around, he held his zanpaku-to out in front of him and spread his legs slightly in a defensive stance, waiting for Kinsetsu to attack.

Reikai smiled a little and tilted her head as she waved back. "No worries. Kasen-sama took longer than expected, and I didn't want to hold you back from your new Division." She hopped down from the tree and leaned against the trunk as she watched Ichiran rejoin the fight.

His blow struck not the head, but the arm that attempted to block it. It was a certainty that damage had been incurred, noting the grimace upon Ichiran's face. It was a rather brief display of pain, as the mouth turned upwards to form a smile. Ichiran, who had been distracted earlier by the other shinigami's presence took the moment offered by Kinsetsu to greet his friend. Waiting patiently Kinsetsu watched the two engage in a brief conversation, clearly marking them as friends. Ichiran returned and took his stance and Kinsetsu, although one who typically countered opponents took the initiative.

He advanced in a methodic pace towards his opponent, holding his sword in an inversed manner within his left arm. It was an awkward way to maneouver a sword, but from experience he knew it became a tough task for even the elite sword fighters to read the intention with such a hold. As it appeared he would casually advance he suddenly sprung out of nowhere and moved in full flight towards the opponent. He wished to have dulled the opponent of his intention by walking casually, only to catch him off guard with the quick change in speed.

Within a pace of Ichiran he swung his sword from his left side at a 45 degree angle upwards and across his body as he swung and performed a sweep of the legs with his right foot. It was obvious result that would occur from such an attack. Ichiran would either be hit or decide to elevate in the air, where he would fall prey to the laws of physics.

Tsuna walked into the Squad 8 training ground and placed his left arm resting on his zanpakuto. Tsuna was watching the vice captain train the other what looked to be seated shinigami. As Tsuna stood there and watched he made sure not to interrupt the training of the vice captain and seated members. Tsuna stood there and watched as his sash around his neck just flowed in the wind. It wasn't uncommon for Tsuna to just stand there and watch the training. Tsuna liked to train with his squad mates but, at the same time Tsuna didn't like to train with squad mates who didn't pull there own weight in the training or even in battle. As the training went on watching it was only something that he could do until the vice captain decided to come and ask him to join. Then again if the vice captain signaled for him to come he would join in the training so that he could learn something or even teach some of the other unseated memebers something also.

A smile came across Tsuna's face as he looked at everything that was going on. It made Tsuna fill with excitement to see that he was in a squad that actually valued training rather than value sitting down doing paper work all day. So what would be in store for Tsuna from this day forward. Only time would tell weither or not Tsuna was really ready to help the Seireitei in anyway.

Reikai was momentarily distacted at the newcomer on the training grounds, giving him a breif smile of acknowlegdement before turning back to focus on Ichiran and his fight. He seemed to be holding out well enough. But she knew from experience not to ignore the little details on your opponent, like from her training with Kasen. Her hand strayed to the pouch where she kept the card and a small smile played on her lips.

Tsuna noticed that the girl had noticed him and he smiled back at her. Tsuna then turned his focus back to the training so that he could keep his eyes on his squad memebers. The Vice Captain looked in top shape when it came to this so even Tsuna knew he had to step his game up if he wanted to beat him one day. Tsuna watched his vice captains attack on the other shinigami that he was training with. From what Tsuna could see from the vice captains attack. The blade was apart of the attack, yet his first attack against Ichiran was a sweep at his legs. At the same time the blade would attack towards Ichiran at the same 45 degree angle which if he jumped he would be caught in a tough position in which most people don't come out untouched from. Tsuna placed his right hand on his light blue sash that fell into his right hand. As Tsuna touched it he said outloud to where the shinigami girl Reikai would be able to hear but, no one else.

"If he could use Byakurai at the right moment before the leg can sweep at him he might be able to push the Vice Captain back from finishing the attack. I wonder if he will be able to notice this before anything else would happen."

In Tsuna's eyes the laws of physics made it so when Ichiran would jump into the air he would have to come down on the attack of the vice captain's zanpakuto. Yet there is always a way to get out of every attack. To become a great shinigami, you have to think outside of the box and not, only use your zanpakuto, but your kidou. Yet sometimes even if your not allowed using your kido you should do what you can to over come your enemy. Use your brain and watch his moves as if you were apart of him the whole time. Tsuna then turned around and walked away from the training area and headed to find something else for him to do for the day.
