So here's the idea.
I'm sure everyone's familiar with Harry Potter's style of "houses", so I'll use that as a main example, however there will be several major differences to our take on it.
Think of it as a mix between that, and home room.
Upon entering middle school (preteen stage) each child will be assigned to a "team" but participation in this team is not nessicary.
If the child feels they want to switch teams, they simply have to file a report. One RP with anyone on the team they were originally assigned with is required for a change, (so that you're not switching without IC-reason, or whenever you feel like it) ie: "So and so is bullying me(insert RP link) :< I want to be on X team with my friend!" or "I can't fight against my friend! please let me switch!"
Each team will be run BY the D-corp students, there will be votes as to who's "captain" of their group. The leader, president, whatever you want to call it... they're in charge of organizing their team, getting them motivated, and using each child's abilities to the teams advantage.
Teams will be mixed, so one kid will be good at swimming, another will be good at climbing... but they'll learn to use these skills together.
This will be "elective" class, so not required for growth-- just for fun! However there will be a PE-teacher hired on, to help organize athletic events in which the teams can compete. The only requirements will be for those who are the team's captains.
The rewards will not go towards growth, but towards extra art... team work pictures, alumni photos, things like that. Participation with your team will get you higher positions within the team, so more RPing, the more likely you'll be chosen for the next event! If your captain doesn't know what you're capable of, then they can't know your skills and where to apply them. But if you're chosen, then you'll participate in the events run by the PE teacher... and prizes will be given, "photos" of each team will be drawn... things like that.
The goal of this is to add more to D-corp than just "hurry up and grow so you can work for the company", so you can play around with their highschool years as well.
this is a huge jumble of various thoughts, a lot of brainstorming, so I'm sorry if it doesn't make much sense! Right now its just in the skeletal stages, so I'm very open to criticism, comments, and things you want to see! The only thing I don't want to hear is "Can you really draw that? can you handle this?" I do know my own work load, and the plan is to also hire other artists to draw the photos as well as doing it myself. The money that goes into D-corp doesn't go to me(I have 3k on my main account xD), it goes to paying the teachers, and things like this. :3 So I'll handle me, you handle you! ♥

Such an awesome idea =0 *totally can't wait*
How long will kids be able to be active in houses though like young adult? Or is it longer or shorter that jazz, just wondering.
Also is this PE teacher then going to kind of be the head of the events and stuff to do with the house? Like collaborating with the pres's of the house or whatever they're called. Or would they just be running facilities and equipment that would be available for the house events?
Would houses have like a base place to meet thats provided or would they have to figure out where to meet on their own?
Would this possibly be a way to host big events like dances or whatnot for preteens plus? and if so would there be a possibility of inter-house events?
Sorry for so many questions XD;

Until they 'graduate" so from preteen through young-adult. Adults will have options to participate with their old teams, through supporting the teams rather than being on them. (Kind of like fraternities and sororities xD) Toddlers are excluded for obvious reasons (too young! they'd get trampled xD) and children will be able to participate in certain events (teenagers working with the younger children... trying to convince them how awesome their team is and to try to get it!) but not all of them, and won't get to be in a house until officially preteen.
That's exactly right~ the first part... The PE teacher will be sort of the referee of everything. Talking to the captain/president of the groups... and managing the events that they'll be participating in.
ie- obstacle course relay race... they lay out the race, part 1 is climbing, part 2 swimming, part 3 flying... Captains of their house/group choose who to put at what part, and PE teacher judges through RP, and dicework, who makes it faster. (Also the team's average activity will add boosts to their team! School spirit effect~)
Each house would have its own meeting area... kind of like a homeroom, or a clubroom. They'd get to decorate it with their colors, and do all sorts of things. (You can have fundraises too, just about anything you can think of to get your team's spirit up!)
Yes it would, and D-corp would be supportive of inter-house events. A dance would be one such thing... Maybe a contest and prize to see who can raise the most funds for the dance between the houses, but everyone would decide what kind of bands to listen to and so on so forth.

Ooouh =0 so would there be some sort of school spirit meter or something? Like how would the houses keep track of that to get their bonuses on rolls? I think that was implied, could be wrong XD

*nodnod!* there would be a meter... and you could have up to a certain number of bonus... so like +5 would be a full meter. +0 if you didn't do much more than one or two RPs, +5 if you posted like daily for the last month xD and did several group Rps and so on so forth. It'd be really hard to get +5, and fairly easy to stay at +0 so you'd have to work for it!
When the event was over, whoever lost would drop back to 0 and whoever wins gets to keep theirs. of course over time it can drop from inactivity~

This seems like a really cool idea to me. Would the kids be sorted by temperament, interests, and so on, or is it simply random?
I assume that each team would be shaped by their captain, of course.

I likes~
One thing we could even add on is people applying for a certain team. That could cut back on the number of "I WANNA SWITCH~" requests... Especially since it seems the preteens-young adults will be doing some recruiting... so as a child, they're given the option of applying into a team. Sort of like Quidditch tryouts... XD
So then the team captains get a list of those who want to join that team and they can hold tryouts or something. (Something physical... or a test... or even just who can suck up to the captain the best! XD It would be up to the captain.)
Perhaps there could be things like cheerleader competitions (Bring It On, anyone? XD) for those who aren't as 'sporty'. Perhaps even things like banner making contests and bake sales~ XD

Indubitably This seems like a really cool idea to me. Would the kids be sorted by temperament, interests, and so on, or is it simply random?
I assume that each team would be shaped by their captain, of course. it'll be somewhat of a mixture. Like I'll probably narrow it down to two choices through their traits, then flip a coin to place them. That way there's some thought involved, so teams don't end up lopsided, but also some randomization, so things will be mixed up a bit, rather than predictable~. Aah.. does that make sense? xD And yes, teams would be guided and shaped by the captain they get >w< captains will be chosen via votes~ Nikiana I likes~ One thing we could even add on is people applying for a certain team. That could cut back on the number of "I WANNA SWITCH~" requests... Especially since it seems the preteens-young adults will be doing some recruiting... so as a child, they're given the option of applying into a team. Sort of like Quidditch tryouts... Perhaps even things like banner making contests and bake sales~ XD That's a good idea for later, once the teams are situated! That way there'll be reason for them to interact with the younger stages. And then, yes, tryouts would be fun x3 of course anyone who didn't have a preference would be sorted randomly~ and I was thinking that too-- thats why i mention things like fundraisers. Those sorts of things will get your team spirit meter up :3
