Huge win for the Giants against the Cowboys! Complete domination. Offense, defense, and special teams all looked very good. So did the coaching. Many big plays. The Giants played with great passion, and the fans were really into it. Awesome to win another division game, as we are still in the playoff chase. We better bring the same energy into next week, where we need a win against the Eagles...

that game pissed me off so much. Can someone please explain to me how a team that's quaterback threw for almost 397 yrds, and who had over 500 yards of total offense can actally manage to screw that up? DAMN! and im pretty sure that last play was incomplete, NOT a fumble. scream

I wrote this in the NFL thread, concerning last night's game against the Eagles:

"Yeah...this one hurt. Great, exciting, crazy game. But a heartbreaking loss. The Giants should be ashamed. If they limited mistakes, they easily could have beat the Eagles. But some bad coaching and terrible mental errors really made this one slip away awfully.

Eli Manning played great (except that stupid fumble caused by ghosts). Jacobs (aside from the costly fumble) and Bradshaw played very well. The offensive line did pretty well. Our receivers made some big plays (*holy s**t, that Nicks touchdown!*) when needed, but also failed to finish the easy plays. Way too many drops and miscues for a professional football team. Receivers have to catch every legitimate ball their way. And there were so many times (including potential easy touchdowns) where feet were not kept inbounds. In an offseason with no veteran receiver and an overhaul of new young receivers, I always thought it would have been wise to keep Toomer for another year. He was a specialist at keeping his feet in, running routes, and catching. That really would have helped the younger wide receivers. Gilbride actually called a pretty nice game, but there were a few questionable calls that were easily predictable.

Defense was atrocious. The Giants give away way too many big plays and way too many points. McNabb is always a Giants killer, and Vick really hurt us too. There have been so many instances of blown coverage throughout the entire season. It seems like our secondary is just playing stupidly. They got ripped apart by D-Jackson yesterday. They're not aggressive enough, and it seems like they get beat mentally and athletically. Yes, the Kenny Phillips and Aaron Ross injuries were detrimental this season, but that's no excuse for playing like complete s**t. I saw some things I liked from our linebackers, and our defensive line played decent. But we need more pressure and more effective blitzing. And has anyone else noticed how many times this season Bill Sheridan has put our defensive ends in coverage, and failed miserably? He's calling some extremely terrible games. Spagnuolo is being missed tremendously. Also, what the ******** was up with that McNabb fumble that went into the air. Not only did Boley fail to catch an easy defensive TD, but once the live ball hit the ground, nobody was aware enough to pick up the ball. The defense isn't playing with intensity, assertiveness, or intelligence this season.

Special teams was terrible for the Giants. Tynes' kickoffs are pathetically not deep enough. Feagles is losing his touch. And coverage was horrendous.

...I still think the Giants can make a run for the last wild card spot. They're remaining schedule is easier than Dallas', and we own the tie-breaker. The Saints, Vikings, Cardinals, and Eagles should win their divisions. The Packers look destined for the fifth seed.

...Coughlin better rally the troops and pump them up. The energy, heart, will, and teamwork that won us Super Bowl XLII is gone. The Giants really better pick this s**t up.

...And I honestly don't see this group as a championship-caliber team by the looks of how we've been playing recently. The Giants need improvement. Injured players need to be nursed back to full health, offseason signings (including defensive coordinator) need to be kept in mind, and we should start looking towards the draft. Maybe it's smart to hang low and get a better pick in April. The Giants really need defensive help. I'm hoping we can do all we can to try and get Brandon Spikes (LB, Florida). Maybe even trade a few picks around to try and get the next best available safety and cornerback..."
