Because of the case of my Dad and the abuse charges, Social Services has decided to take my mother's daycare license from her tonight.
The laywer they found is actually my brother-in-laws father, and the court date will be within the next couple of months. They will probably wait until after Christmas to decide a date.
I just don't know anymore.
Edit:
My mom called koopabrat and myself, and asked if we all wanted to meet with her, my dad, and the two kiddos she can still watch for a picnic. We agreed, of course, and she was smiling and laughing. We asked how she was doing, and though she looked down she said that she honestly believed that this was what was meant to be.
She's not the healthiest person in the world. koopabrat and I honestly believe that she might pass away within the next 20 years because of how sick she is. She's had over 13 surgeries within the last 15 years, she's diabetic, and she isn't taking care of herself like she should.
She thinks that loosing the daycare will make her slow down a little more, and take time that she needs to get stuff done. She does so much for so many people, she never takes the time to do anything for herself.
I think this is where I get my kindness from, and how hard it is to say no to people. My mom is like that. She may of been cruel while I was growing up, but a lot of that wasn't her fault. Being bi-polar does that to people. She has changed so much in the last few years, and I can say I have never been prouder of who she has become and how much she does for her daycare families. she has a huge heart.
She continued to smile and we all gave her a hug. My folks are going to be okay ^.^

No it's not, but because of my dad being charged, we knew this was going to happen sooner or later. It just happened sooner than we thought.
even if we fight this and he gets off from being charged, she will probably still have her license gone.

...she can't get another one? Is it permanently gone? :'( That sucks... Seriously, this system is screwed up. Your Mom has a good record right? Couldn't she hold the daycare elsewhere and keep her license? D:< Argh.

As they've said, really unfair. And.. I think she should be able to still have a daycare as long as it's not run out of her home? Though, that would have quite a bit of expenses you might not be able to pay. =/.
-hugs Saturn- I wish you the best of luck and hope everything turns out all right.

*hugs everyone back* Thanks guys.
Yes, it really is f'ed up, but it's what they have been planing this whole time (social services). And though her license to be a childcare owner is gone for good, she can still (at this time) watch 1 family's kids who are not part of social services. She has already decided which family she will keep watching kids for, but she will be watched like a hawk stalking a mouse. She messes up just once and she won't be able to watch kids ever again.
She thinks that once things have died down, she'll try to apply at another childcare service and work for them. Who knows how long this will take though.

Well that's good to hear! And yeah, she should really take care of herself and I guess keep thinking of this situation in a more positive light.

I'm glad she's keeping a positive attitude! And I'm also glad that she will have the time to take care of herself now (even though the means of giving her that time was totally upsetting...). :> I hope she takes the time to relax, enjoy things more and get healthy~! ^ - ^ I'll be cheerin' for her~! (Gawd knows I need to do the same thing myself orz)
