No soul, no shoes, no problem. 3nodding
Misinformation like that gets out frequently. No, there's no soul in Buddhist doctrine - the impermanence of everything, including you, is a central tenet of the faith.

Depends on which religion you look at. In my tradition, the soul is our psyche. It is who we are in how we interpret the world outside of us and aids in filling in the gaps of the things we don't know about the world outside of ourselves and within ourselves. It is the soul that is the link between the body and our spirit.

Tricky one that...
I would say the unique component of the individual.
Although to go into proper detail I should like to go on and on to the point of unreadability.

Personally, I feel that the soul is the spirit of a person.

i would say that the oul is difficult to define without also defining other components of existance. the following is my interpretation, and partly speulation to be honest.
teh Soul is a person's inner essence, the immortal piece of their being. it is connected to the Mind, which acts as a bridge to the brain of teh current Body your living Spirit resides in. the Thoughts and Memories of a single lifetime make up a Spirit, who has it's own personality, but is still an extension of it's Soul. this is where we get "Past-Life Selves".
you see, i believe in a sort of reincarnation, but not at all like in the wheel of Samsara. i believe in Afterlife, a Spirital plane of existance, where our Soul exists. the Ethereal is where the Mind exists, and bridges the Spiritual/Astral to the Material, Physical plane of existance. when we die, our Spirit leaves the Body, but is still part of the Soul, residing in the Astral, but still connected to us.

in Greek, Psyche is the soul.
so for me it is the deeper emotive self
an aspect of the whole person
not to be viewed separately from the body
but not a mere physical machine either (and neither is the body, for that matter)
the most meaningful exploration of Psyche i have ever encountered is in C.S. Lewis' 'Til We Have Faces.

To the one that I serve Like I said. My soul theory is that the soul is a combination of elements. 1: The Mind (percieves the mysteries, contains thoughts and emotions) 2: The Body (physical form which allows us to gain experiences and learn lessons) 3: The Spirit (Life force) 4: The Shade (Personality/reflection of this life unique to each life) 5: The SuSoul (contains experiences, connection to the all, learns the lessons, ect) I will give my all

neko wyndy wytch Ok so what is enlightenment then? The ability to end your cycle of rebirths, as dictated by the ability to see the karma in your past and the cessation of the karmatic string that will continue to create new lives in your wake. In short, it's being well gone. 3nodding Doesn't need a soul in Buddhism.
