Lets hear your Madden strategies!!

Mine is all about a very fast running game. I need a blazing Fast Running back, like Barry Sanders, Brian Westbrook or Chris Johnson, a decent quarterback with a strong arm, and at least one Tall reciever or very fast reciever, like Calvin Johnson, Matt Jones or Randy Moss.

My Defense, is a run stopping defense, I will not let you get 100 yards running, but unfortunately, I have a hard time stopping the pass, but its not my fault, the Secondary in Madden 09 is mediocre at best, even if you have the two or three greatest corners in the game.

I go custom for my team. I play against the weaknesses of the team I am playing and then hurt them with the run later in the game when the game AI is forced to start focusing on the pass to stop the big plays in the air. As for my defense, I personally play DE or DT. Sometime Blitzing LB. I let the rest of the team do their job and Somtimes if the CB is tight on the WR, I switch at last second to either get the Int or break up the pass. But generally I am not that good at defense. Just that good at Offense

I love to run on offense in Madden. I always use the Giants, so using Brandon Jacobs is really fun. He is a trucking beast, and then I like to use their other RBs for some extra speed. I also throw in an occasional play action pass. But on the online leaderboards, I'm up there high in rushing (Madden 09, Wii).

I play defense a little more balanced. I love to edge rush with my ends. Love using Giants' defensive line. And Strahan is in Madden 09, so it makes it even funner.

On offense, I'll always play to the teams strengths. If it's Minnesota for example, I'll run a lot. If it's Arizona, I'll pass a lot.
However, even if I use a running team, I still end up passing a lot. I end up going 50-50 run and pass plays for running teams, 75-25 for teams with great receivers.

Either way, I'll always choose plays I like and I'm comfortable with. I'll always audible depending on the opponents defense. If it's dime or quarter, I'll rush. If it's 4-3 or 3-4, I'll do an assortment of plays. I'll line up both receivers on a side to see if they're running man or blitzing. I'll do a bunch of things.

On defense, I'll always play a zone defense. Cover 3 or Cover 4. Depending on what the opponent does, I'll change sometimes. I use Cover 3 against running teams and cover 4 against others. I'll blitz corners if I see the QB rolling out a lot. I'll blitz more if I see them holding the ball longer. I'll just change my defense accordingly.

Yeah... *shrug*

Offense I usually throw alot... Unless it's a really good o-line then I'll run a lot. But I also audible almost every play until I'm comfortable with how everything looks.

That is how I used to do that till I learned how to run effectively.

I only play with Dallas in Madden. It's been like that since the beginning back in the 90s on the Sega Genesis cool

When I play, on offense my style is pretty much balanced. I'll split time with my running backs so it's very rare that one of them gets 100 yards in a game. I've also been known to break to the outside and get those huge gains, sometimes for touchdowns.

My passing game, everyone gets the ball, BOTH tight ends, receivers, hell even the full back. Sometimes I might go for the bomb on 1st and 10, just to see if who I'm playing is paying attention. It's a good idea to blitz me, but when it counts my QB scramble game can be up to par, especially since its Romo that's under center. QB scrambling is something I also worked on throughout the years, even when Bledsoe was QB for Dallas xd if I thought I could get a first down with him, I'd do it.

My defense is balanced, and average too. Like vegito, I tend to play blitzing LB or DE, but I'll also play some coverage LB too. As for defending the pass, I'm satisfied with just knocking it down, but if it looks like theres a good chance to make the pick, I'll go for it.

You basically explained my team game plan. Run them over until they got 8 in the box and blitz every time, then throw over their head. Same defense to run stopping man defense, One man Blitzes every time. 1st downs 2 or 3 man blitz, their aint no running on me.

As far as players, I like to have a strong armed QB, a good pass catching back, and like alot of people I have to have a stud WR (Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, one of the top tier WR) my OLine is usually pretty good, I always seem to take Joe Thomas and Michael Roos. my defenses usually have a weak DLine, strong LB corp, and a decent secondary.

When I am actually playing I like to play off the opposing teams weakness, if they have a really good secondary I'll pound the ball all day, and if they have a good front 7 I'll go Arizona offense on them lol. But I prefer to play a balanced game. I have friends that I play Madden with and they hate playing against me because I play it like it's a real game, run the ball, control the clock, play action. They go for it on 4th down most of the time and I play the field position game.

Same here, I play like it's a real game.

I Blitz constantly, making my opponent throw the ball, My average from Madden 09 was maybe 32 rushing yards a game.

Nice job. I only got you beat by 3 yds. It is hard to not allow any yards. What level do you play? I play All Madden.

Computer? I played on All pro but it was getting way to easy, I did switch to All Madden but after like two games my Madden was to scratched to keep working (my little brothers fault). But I was mostly talking about playing against humans with the about 32 yards rushing.
