Insomnia
Follow the beckoning of the angel
Follow the cold, cold air
Follow the path of a crazed world
that comes from a sleepless night;
Follow my hand,
Take it and warm it,
Tell me the troubles of your life,
hear my slow whisper;
For tonight, realize that
the passionate emotions have stirred
within the folds of your and my soul,
yes, we have just one for us both;
Realize that love
has claimed two more souls
and binded them together
Forever and yet a day;
Breathe in the cold air,
exult in our glory,
Alas! there is yet
one more thing to say;
Live life, die death,
why speak to me in riddles?
Tell me your heart's desire,
And I will tell you mine;
Yes, what do I want, what do I need?
What do I don't have,
when in my possession
are life's most dear creations?
You, my dear,
your soul is what I need,
your soul is what drives me
to comfort you tonight;
So whisper to me
your heart's desire
as we spend another sleepless night
together...

As we Stand on Top of the World
I take your hand,
I feel your warm breath
blowing against my neck;
The stars smile down,
My head seems
to fit perfectly into
the hollow of your neck
as we stand
on top of the world.
Our song begins tonight;
We're both the melody,
the wind and birds
our harmony;
a ribbon red as blood
joins our hands
Mine a dainty little thing,
yours strong yet gentle
as we stand
on top of the world.
My eyes slip closed
in content
your voice of honey
rings through the air
speaking the words
that will bind us together
as we stand
on top of the world.
Tonight is ours
Tonight is when we triumph;
tonight is the night
the angels envy
as we stand
on top of the world.
Yes, we're different
No, I have not a care
Let the world deal
with our love,
our impossible love
as we stand
on top of the world.

Life or Love?
This is the tale of a boy
Who battled with himself
To discover his true love;
In the end it proved to be
The best and the worst event
Of his life.
It started on a night
When the moon was high in the sky
He was walking along the path in the roses
Gazing up at the stars;
When he looked back down upon Earth
There was a girl in his way
But this was no fair maiden;
Scars crossed her face
And her shoulders sagged with fatigue;
But then she opened her mouth
And sang
And the boy almost fell;
The honey that poured from her mouth
Was so fine and pure
It nearly made up for her lack of beauty.
After her song
She asked him tearfully
If he would take the time
To guide her back home;
He eagerly agreed
And reached out to take her hand;
She hesitantly took it.
They walked
And in those few moments
He learned so much about her;
She had a lovely soul,
Kind and dear,
And if her face were a reflection
Of her true personality,
She would be radiant.
And on that night
When they reached a fork in the road
The girl stopped
And there she spoke life-changing words;
"My dear,
You have captured my heart
But I am an angel
Sent to watch over the world
And my master calls to me now
And now I must ask you this;
Will you choose to come with me?
Or will you stay here
On Earth to live life to its fullest
And never see me again?"
And then the girl transformed
Wings sprouted out of her back
And her entire being glowed
And her hair became gold as honey
And her eyes became wise and loving
And she reached out,
One pale hand shining in the moonlight.
Tears shone in the boy’s eyes
As he realized what the fork in the road was
For he knew what his decision was to be;
And though he realized
That this angel had stolen his heart
He could never leave his rightful home.
And so he spoke,
His voice rough and coa/rse
In comparison to hers:
“I cannot leave my home,
Much as it pains me to say,
I’d rather live to be old
Than go to heaven before my time.”
And so the angel said farewell
And held him as he sobbed
Until it was her time to go;
She gazed upon his face one last time
And stepped into one of the roads
As a beam of light from the skies
Shone down upon her.
The boy watched
As she floated to heaven
Shaken by what he had experienced;
And suddenly he knew
Where home was
And he took the road
That was opposite of the angel’s.
And it was the last time
The boy ever saw her
Even when he died;
But he never regretted his decision
For he lived a long and happy life
And through the many years to come
He never forgot the angel
And her voice of honey,
And her shining face.
