Since Free Agency is pretty much on cruise control now, how would you grade your teams FA shopping impact?

Philadelphia Eagles
Lost Players- 8 (2 in trades). I give a C-. They have lost almost 10 players during the FA. Now granted two of them were for trades, but the others were straight towards FA.

Re-Signed Players- 4. I give a B- for re-siging their players. Granted they did not get Dawking Re-Signed, but the did get solid depth for CB by signing Hanson and then keeping depth for other positions by signing the guys who were restricted FA's.

FA Aquisitions- 3. I give C+. They have gotten 1 huge piece of the puzzle by signing FA Stacey Andrews. Then they got a Safety who seems like he might be a bright light in the league over the next 5 years. Then they got a camp body.

Over all I give a C. They were OK, but they let many options to bolstering the team where they could have used it desperately get away. But one plus is that they made themselves a lot younger and look to be putting a team together to once again take it to the league for a number of years again.

49ers free agency plan is a failure.
It took us forever to find an offensive coordinator.
We got played by Kurt Warner... Yeah...

Anyway, as for what we did get, we got Takeo Spikes to resign. A good move.
We actually have a decent fullback. Not some Mike Martz fullback.
We signed Brandon Jones. No idea how good he'll be. He should do alright I think.
Damon Huard is signed. A good veteran prescience at quarterback.
Alex Smith restructured his deal. I still believe Alex can still be good.

That's really all for the big stuff.

Overall... A big fat F. We have nothing.

I would not say that the Niner's have nothing. They have a young team with a lot of potential. Dont forget that injuries and coaching changes like the Niner's had last year will stunt any team. I wouldnt give your team an F, I would give it a D-. Didnt lose anyone of need and signed a couple of people who are going to help instead of hinder.

I didn't say the team was a failure. I said what they did during free agency is a failure. We have all this free cap space and we did nothing with it.

If I were to grade the team, I would give them a C-. We have pieces everywhere. Our linebackers are solid I think, although another wouldn't hurt. Gore is a hard runner, now he just needs to be a smart one. Shaun Hill is a winner. 7-3 in 10 starts. That's good in my book. Nate Clements is a good corner. He really only got beat by Terrell Owens last season. Otherwise, he did a really good job, especially on Fitzgerald, Bolden, and Holt in that division. Offensive line, I think Staley will be a beast. Heitman has been pretty good for a while.

Still our problem remains both the offensive and defensive line. We also need safeties. I like who we have at wide receiver though. I think Jason Hill and Josh Morgan could develop into good receivers. Maybe we can try to get Holt to teach the young guys?

Gotcha. I see where you are coming from now. I just took it wrong.

Seattle Seahawks.... I give them a C+.

Defense:
They traded away OLB Julian Peterson to the Lions for Cory Redding, who I think will be a bust because he's going back to DE in Seattle, hopefully taking over for the inconsistent Darryl Tapp, and for a 5TH ROUND DRAFT PICK! I dont care if Peterson is going into his 10th season, he still plays like he's 25, and was one of the few things good about Seattle last year. I think they should have at least gotten a 3rd rounder. Colin Cole from the Packers was a waste of money, losing DT Rocky Bernard was a good thing, he got in trouble with the law too much last year in the offseason. They still need a beastly DT, I hope they draft B.J Raji with their first pick if they go with defense. Grade: C

Offense: They Got T.J Houshmanzadeh. Big bonus there, Though I think they should have went after Derrick Ward at Running Back, because they need one as they gave up Maurice Morris to Detroit. Julius Jones is not a starter by all means, T.J Duckett is a goalline animal but thats it, and they're 5th round rookie from last season, Justin Forsett, is unproven, but a good special teams runner. Hasselbeck is still there. Draft choices.... 1st Round, Either RB Knowshon Moreno or OT Eugene Monroe. 2nd round... QB Josh Freeman or Rhett Bomar. Grade: B

Just some Knowledge from me, hope I can start a converstaion from this.

My rule for drafting QB's is to get one while you dont need one, so he can learn under a veteran for a few years before he starts a game. Proof: Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Kurt Warner.

You never draft a star QB from college and start him right away! Proof of this: Ryan Leaf, Andre Ware, Brady Quinn (sort of), Tim Couch, J.P Losman, Matt Leinart, Brodie Croyle.

There are many others for both Good side and Bad, But I cant name them all right now.

Well I can give you a couple that go against the start him right away. Well 1 for almost sure. Donvan McNabb may not have started the beginning of his season, but he was in a little past half of the season. He has started ever since and been very successful stat wise and win wise. Just not the big one. Also, wasnt Peyton Manning starting in his first year? Also if you were to look at this year, both the rookie QB's for Atlanta and Baltimore were beautiful.

I'm happy with what they Giants did so far. They signed Boley, Bernard, Canty, and Brown. They took a bit of a hit with Ward and Butler leaving. They are also still looking around a bit, and should do very well in the draft. The Giants may also make a few trades. So far, I give them an A-.

...On ESPN's show NFL Live, they had a free agency bracket to find out which team had the best offseason, and the Giants won. confused

That is good. I can almost guarantee you that Philadelphia lost in that bracket as well. But as I finally calmed down and looked at the big picture, especially with the addition of FB Leanord Weaver, it looks like Philadelphia has set themselves up maybe not for this year, but with this draft class and the maturation of last years draft class, to take it farther than most are expecting. Just with the Sean Jones, Stacey Andrews and Leanord Weaver signings, they have taken care and even in a sense upgrading to younger and faster. They are now able to focus on their needs for the draft and the few positions they are needed.

Yeah, overall, the Eagles didn't have such a strong offseason. They could have made some moves for a few key free agents, but nothing followed through. The biggest thing was the loss of some key players. Brian Dawkins, Tra Thomas, Buckhalter, Runyan, LJ Smith. The players that they brought in are decent, but do not consolidate for the ones declared free agents. But they should have a very strong draft in April.

One thing that I have looked at since I calmed down is game film of those players they brought in. Weaver is a serious upgrade since Philly never had a true FB since John Ritchie. Stacey Andrews until he went down with his injury last year, kept getting better and even kept the best of the DE's in the league under check better than most. He was supposed to be the most highly saught after OT ever last year until the Bengals franchised him. His injury deterred some, but he was still highly saught after this year as well. Philly just had his brother on their team so that was probably the biggest reason why he came here. Plus he has allowed very very few sacks overall. He is also bigger than John Runyan and more athletic. He also has the mannerism as Runyan did. Sean Jones is very very intruiging. He rankes 3rd in the league to have 14ints since 2006 and one of only 4 players to have 4 ints every year in each of the past three seasons. He is a sidelines to sidelines player who has experience at both positions and is just as good against the run as in coverage. He only has been in the league for 6 years and only because of the team he was on has he not been given national highlight. As for the other players, they are good camp bodies and if they make it, pretty decent ST players.

I think that Sean Jones was their best acquisition, especially after losing a key component to their secondary, Brian Dawkins. He is very good in coverage, and has a complete game.

Andrews was a good signing, especially after their loses at OL. But I think he was a bit overrated against facing defensive lines, because the entire AFC North played a 3-4.

And Weaver was a good signing. Maybe Reid will be more confident in using the run game, now that Westbrook has a solid blocker.

That is very true, my friend, but the ratio of success for a rookie starter is far more in favor of failure then success, QB's like Tim Tebow in the system they run at Florida need to be trained in the NFL QB ways, because they dont run the option offense very much at all like In college where that offense does very good. I find it weird that Dude-LAP nmever entered this conversation. He usually has something good to say.

I would not call that an F

First all, the Fullback we brought back was Moran Norris, the Fullback who blocked for Garrison Hearst when he gained his pro-bowl 1,500+ yard season three years ago. Bringing him back will more than likely boost the 49ers Running game back up to where it was a few years ago when it was one of the best in the league.

Also with Jonas Jennings on his way out, the 49ers have a vacancy at that position, which sources say they are looking to fill with Pittsburgh Steelers free-agent tackle Marvel Smith, A California born native. Adding him would not only benefit our quarterback protection, (55 sacks last season) but better equip our line to help realize Coach Singletary's run first offense.

Bring Back Takeo Spikes was #1 priority for us going into free agency. While Spikes and Willis might not be thee best inside linebacker duo in the league, they were top notch and the anchor for that defense. Another year with those two on the inside is a must for the Defense.

Did we make any HUGE aquisitions this off season? Not really, but I wouldn't say they get an F.

I would give them a C-/C for now
