'Well, that was a fun trip.'

'That it was...'

Star looked over to her rider with confusion, 'You didn't enjoy it?'

Amber sighed, then walked ahead of her wolf on shaky legs, exhausted from the hike from the Academy to New Eve. It didn't help any that she had been promoted...and spring was due anytime soon.

You're worried about the centipedes?

"Of course, Star. I know they've never breached the walls, but what if I mess up?! What if I make a fatal error and get someone killed?! What if I-"

Star snarled at the girl, causing Amber to jump and stop walking. 'You won't mess up. You're intelligent, quick, and have more empathy towards other riders and their wolves; that alone will make you more protective of those around you than anyone else can ever try to do. You're heart has good intentions, you need to stop worrying yourself to death or you will make a fatal error. Hopefully this patron of your's will make you see that.' As much as she cared for rider, Star knew she needed to prove to Amber that she was strong...and there had to be some way to prove this and get her confidence up. Amber's mind was quite organized, but there were strains of thoughts tha weasled in and out of her mind like a worm in an apple...and they weren't always good thoughts. Amber blamed herself for a lot of things, including things she had no control over or things that shouldn't affect her. 'You do know that such worrying will cause ulcers, right?'

Amber looked at her wolf, lately Star had been acting more like a therapist than a wolf to her. Having a wolf as your therapist could be good and bad; good because they could tell you the right thing to make you feel better without lying to you, bad because they knew your exact thoughts. "I'm more than aware of that, but thank you." Amber turned back to the gates and sighed. "I'm really nervous, Star. This is the second time I've been alone, but this time I'm really alone..." She turned to the wolf. "I know I have you, but...I really miss my adoptive family..."

'I know how you feel, but they're supporting you even if they aren't right by your side. Your boy certainly loves you dearly...'.

Amber smiled at this. Star refused to call Billy by his name. Amber knew that, ever since they'd first bonded, she had despised him. She wasn't fully sure why Star hated him so much, they hadn't even met! Star must have her reasons, but she also seemed to understand that Billy really did care for Amber. It was a confusing cycle. "Thanks, Star."

'Do I get my treat now?'

[OoC: Wicca-san, thank you for your patience. Also, at 3 months just after bonding, wolves are learning to speak and start out like how human children are learning to speak at five years old. The newly bonded pairs arrive at their forts by cart as well. The reading only forum of the guild has a base story for apprentice life.]

Fai-er (Fire). The word had been coolly said, repeated from one of the statements in her thoughts: His fur is a color like the night sky's; like black velvet. His eyes are a red like blazing fire. His eyes back then had revealed his examination of her during their first meeting. It was the first word he spoke to her and she'd never forget how it happened.

The adolescent Rainingwind had a healthy helping of cute (a thought of Jamie's he has always ignored). He was like a mafia leader in training. His voice upon their meeting had been child-like but serious in sound.

Jamie remembered how he had slept next to her on the bed when he was able to fit through the door connecting the room and den the first days of her apprenticeship facing the exit and even as he slept he looked like he was a guard of a national treasure taking his job very seriously; eyes sharp when snapping open in narrowed alertness eventually and soon, almost and then as soon as she'd playfully peek at his face in his sleep when she woke up before him. Even now he denies credit of why his rider still sleeps with her head farthest from the headboard as she had adjusted into the habit in those aforementioned days of sleepovers with him.

In contrast to his rider, Rainingwind was the usual more serious inwardly and outwardly as he walked beside and let his rider be, as masked by the outward calm she carried herself with, inwardly she was twirling about in her land of precious memories.

By the fort gates, they caught sight upon their approach of two individuals fitting the descriptions they were given, their apprentices.

Upon their coming into closer proximity to the two, Jamie issued the query with steady composure and politeness in her voice as she gave a friendly smile, "Amber Bolin and CelestialSong, am I correct in presuming so?"
