Title is misleading. The article clearly indicates that the democratic leadership is against this.

Interesting idea though. if we had mandatory military service there would actually be fewer wars.

Yes, I interpreted the title this way. Actually I think it is very predictable that people would interpret the title this way. After all 'the democrats,' note the plural, more easily describes a group rather than a single person. That makes you responsible for misinterpretations given that any reasonable person would be able to predict how the majority of people would interpret this title, and choose a wording that more accurately describes your thoughts.... like 'Another winning idea from Rangel'

but anyway, If I were to call 3 democrats, "the democrats," I would at least try to pick 3 that are somewhat representative....not way out there.
