This is for an intelligent discussion on the match up and break down.

NY Offense vs. Philly Defense-

NY is probably the most balanced offensive team I have ever seen since the St. Louis Rams in 2001. They have the Lightning and the Thunder and the Hail in Jacobs, Ward and Bradshaw. They can wear down and offense all on their own. Their Passing attack is also a very effective game in and of itself even without Burress. Their TE and an up and coming superstar and has shown the ability to keep the philly LB's honest and back a bit which helps the run game as well. Eli is one of the best in the NFL and even in my belief a better overall QB than his brother Peyton. They will be facing a #3 defense that save for one run shut down the NFL's best RB in Peterson and was one of the most effective pass defenses in the NFL. If the Giants are not 110% on their game and Philly is as effective as they have been for the past month and a half defensively, Philly will win this battle of offense vs. defense.

Philly Offensive vs. NY Defense-

Philly potentially has one of the best offenses ever, but they are way to unpredictable. When they are on their game, NO team was able to stop them. But that is hard. The way they played against Minnesota was a lot like the way they played against Washington two weeks ago. But if they play the way the did against Dallas, the Giants are going to be in for a long long day just like they were a few weeks ago. Philly boasts a bunch of under the radar receivers in Curtis, Jackson, Avant and Baskett. Avant and the TE Celek have become very dangerous in the mid-range attack and with the Giants LB's having to key in on Westbrook and possibly McNabb, those two may be the ultimate key for Philly to win.

The Giants do have one glaring vulnerability. That is there ability to effectivel stop the 'speed' receiver.

Philly's one glaring vulnerability is to convert the third and short.

Special Teams vs. Special Teams

Both teams are explosive and very physical. They do not give much if anything. They both boast explosive and very very dangerous returners and have two of the best punters and kickers to ever grace the league.

In the end the game will be decided by who has the most effective defensive line.

My prediciton is Eagles all the way. The score will be at least 28 to 17.
Giants lost there best reciever and don't play well at home against the Eagles Westbrook well have big yards like he did last game.

But how are they going to do it against a team that has historically the most amount of success against them?

I am also going with the Eagles because one, they have already beaten them before, at home to be precise. So they aren't gonna have any fear or anything when they go in NY. They didn't last time, and won. So I don't see why they can't do it twice. Plus, they lost Plaxico, which is a huge loss to the Giants. And Westbrook will be pretty hard to stop in their run plays. So I say Eagles are gonna win and go to the NFC Championship against the Panthers.(woo, lol)

The Eagles have been absolutely great their last couple games, and I believe that momentum could allow them to beat the Giants if Westbrook does well.

biggrin I think I'm going to this game! biggrin

...This will be a really close match. A defensive battle. Both offenses will probably play more conservative and cautious, because either defense can make big game-shifting plays. I think the defenses will play aggressive.

The key for the Giants to win the game is to have a balanced offense. They should start early to get Jacobs going. Give him the ball to run down the Eagles defense. Occasionally throw in Ward and Bradshaw, and give Ward the ball in the air. Also look for Steve Smith to get more involved as a possession receiver. I also expect Hixon or Toomer to make a big play or two. Defensively, the Giants must stop Westbrook and force McNabb to throw into tight spaces. They also have to make sure that McNabb doesn't scramble. The Giants linebackers must play better pass coverage.

The key for the Eagles to win is to give Westbrook the ball. If Westbrook is stopped, then Donovan McNabb will be forced to pass, and Philly never does well when they learn more towards the pass. If Westbrook can't get going, the McNabb might force some mistakes. McNabb also might take a few shots downfield, because the Giants' secondary is a bit overrated. Defensively, the Eagles must stop the run and force Eli to pass. The Giants controlled 2/3 of the game in their first matchup, backed by a successful run game, thus winning.

...It should be an awesome and exciting game. I can't wait! I say that the Giants will win this game by less than a touchdown. Homefield will help them, and Jacobs is well rested. Coughlin has done well in the playoffs, and Eli is a veteran leader. razz

Yep, I'm going to this game! biggrin I just got the tickets!

Hopefully for me, the Giants will win, but I really want to see a good game.

...It's supposed to be freezing on Sunday at the Meadowlands. Windy too, possible snow. But I'll be there, probably in my Brandon Jacobs jersey.

I hope they win, so I can maybe go next week too cool

I don't think there's much of a chance for the Ravens to beat both the Titans and Steelers en route to the Super Bowl.

...But yeah, the winner of this NFC game is very likely to win the Super Bowl.

Lol. Hey just remember something here, Eagles = #3 ranked rush Defense.
Giants = #9. Big difference.

And don't forget what Westbrook did last time both teams played.

But yeah, we both agree except the outcome. lol

Philly all the way.

Great chemistry, momentum is with them, and an excellent running game.

As well, the Giants don't have Plax. s:

I'll be cheering for philly. cool
