So what's everyone going as this year?
Originally I wanted to go as a filing cabinet
Like transformers style...you walk in the room and your like oh what a
loverly filing-OMFG! and I jump up to reveal that I am a very deceptive
filing cabinet indeed.
Conversly if I'm not crouched down in a certain way you'd look at my
costume and be like WTF are you supposed to be you look like a retarded
knight, and then I'd walk into an office setting and crouch and you'd be
like no wai! Ware did u go?
But...
I has no filing cabinet. And no moneys to buy filing cabinet. I has
mechanic borther who is willing to help me cut filing cabinet with cool
spinny saw thing.
...
But no filing cabinet.
Then I was like "Well what do I have?"
BOOBS!
I has boobs. And lots of them. An aboobundance!
Wait no...
I have two boobs, but they are big ones!
And I can sew so...
I am going as a tavern wench.

I was a tavern wench last year =] The best place to get a good outfit is to go to a renaisance fair/festival, but those can get pretty pricey. I wore my costume 2 or 3 years in a row.
you might be able to find filing cabinets for cheap at a store like meijers or walmart or w/e. Or you can look on craigslist, or look for garage sales, etc.
I wanna be a filing cabinet now. sad

The filing cabinet will be heavy and take a lot of work, but it'll be so worth
it. I think I may do it next year. I was gonna glue a bowl of candy to the
top, and a little sign that says "Take one!", and then sit there and wait for
someone to try to take more than one.

But I am making my own tavern wench costume. I've bought the fabrics
already. Good heavy stuff. And the top is seperate from the skirts, so I
can wear it with jeans, and wear the skirts with something that looks like
its from this century. Over all I think it's a good investment.
I will eventually post some pix.
And what is your costume? This year?

Thaya, filing cabinets are too heavy to walk around in(they're made with stainless steel).
I'd recommend making a fake one out of a lighter/thinner metal(like the kind of sheet metal they use to make thunder special effects).
[edit]Oh, and if I can get the costume done in time, I want to go as Cthulu.

I found some random purple/black devil outfit in my closet, sooo imma probably end up being some kind of succubus-related thing ><

I got some pumpkins today. ^_^ A big one and a small one. I carved the smaller one to test our kitchen knives, and they're a bit flimsy, as I thought they were, so I'm holding off on the big one until I can get a pumpkin carving kit this Tuesday.
Butbut! While I was carving it, I actually got allergy bumps on my arm where some juice got!
I'm scared I'm allergic to pumpkin now! o_o What will I do with the pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving?!
In lighter news, I also got a jug of fantastic orchard-made apple cider and some organic Cameo apples. Delish. I love fall!

the filing cabinet idea is amazing. srsly. i wish i could pull something like that off. O:
but i'll have to settle for being a zombie and hiding in the bushes to scare trick-or-treating childrens. I LOVE SCARING CHILDRENS. >:D
a bunch of us are going to get together and a friend's house and watch '80's horror films and eat all the candy we're supposed to be giving out. it's going to be awesome, because i'll get to scare little kids and get away with it. :'D

I am going as a vampire but I don't have all of the costume ready yet, which I really need to get done. So far I have the fangs, a black dress that I am prolly gonna wear, black fishnets, and i am really unsure of what shoes I am gonna wear. I think I may wear my 'Hooker Boots' (They are like knee length black lace up commando boots) but someone else is wanting to borrow them for a pirate costume they are doing so I don't know what else I can wear.

And I'm all "Mayyyybe..." rofl
Because I totally would! But I'm crazy like that. This past summer I
sewed pirate pirate pirate costumes for all of my friends and we went
camping on mah brother's land and had pirate pirate pirate wars, and
drank rum all weekend.

Also...my wench dress is gonna be mah drinkin' dress after this weekend!

For Halloween I'm being a Creepy Marionette Doll. =D All I have to do is cut up this Dress we bought from Value Village, and make one other thing, and I'm done.

I'mma going as Yuna. I'm making it too, which is a pain in the a**. I can barely use the sewing machine. And all those annoying details. And I don't have fabric for the obi yet. AND I officially have zero time to make the staff. I officially have less-than-a-hairs-width of time just to finish.
So it had better turn out kick-a**. 3nodding
Anyways(sorry, I had to rant), I think it would be freaking sweet to be a filing cabinet. I would have endless fun pretending I actually was one and jumping up and scaring people. rofl
