So, anyone been watching?
Lots going on, watched the entire opening ceremony.
To my knowledge, the US currently has 2 gold medals, 1 by Phelps (swimming) and 1 by Zagunis (Fencing) at the current moment. [@ 11:55PM EDT]
China also has 2, and you Canadians have zippo. XD
discuss. ninja

Okay... okay, now, I know I shouldn't do this... but I'm inclined to be a tad more... political towards this.
Now, don't get me wrong, China's a wonderful country, with an awesome past, and a good people... and all that schnazz.
But, the gov't there... well, just because I said that, you know how I feel. And I'm sure you've already heard at least one of the many "stories", not just in general, but about some of the things that the Chinese Gov't is doing pertaining to the olympics.
In essence, the gov't has presented a tainted view of the country, because of their heavyhandedness in trying to not look tainted. This plus the multitudes of other things...
ANYWAYS...
I'm making it a point to ignore the olympics. ^_^
Not that I'm a big sports fan anyways... but in the light of this... yeah.
x_o
So, that's my thoughts... but I'm sure most people don't share my sentiments... ^_^

I more try not to protest silly-like and chose to ignore the gov't.
I sort of like China. xD; The people are cool, and the language is fun. Sure, some spots are smoggy.
I'm more for the ideal the people aren't doing it, the gov't is. But I could be wrong.
But, DAMN, China's got some amazing athletes. o___o

owo I'm gonna have to agree with Hiruhi-kun about protesting and whatnot.
But as for China and their athletes, I thought the soccer game between them and Canada was freaking epic. [/soccer fan]

And as I read that, they start discussing it. XDD
Wow. Interesting.
I think its retarded if everyone "fears wearing USA" because of one silly homi-suicider. You can't blame an entire country for 1 person. :<
Oh well. XD People need to loosten up.

Korea struck gold in 400m swim. Jensen took bronze in the same event. Hurray for only watching swimming, tennis, and beach volleyball!

.......
*raises hand*
How the ******** does a protest against the Olympics work? Honestly someone explain this to me. No really I don't get it.
Ya know, it would be a harder blow to your own country, than to the host country by protesting.
Your reasons are your reasons. I'm not going to let the country the olympics are taking place in stop me from enjoying something that in its essence is amazing. Get people of every race, religion, country, language all together to kick the other countries asses.
My only issue with the olympics so far has been WHERE THE HELL IS BELARUS? I know where it is now but my mother and I was sitting there watching the rowing and trying to figure out if there is anything to do in BLR than to row. Trippy.
I don't usually watch the olympics a lot because I find some of the stuff boring like swimming and that. But I love the obscure sports and gymnastics. Also it's a lot easier to watch when its in a different country. Not so much hype all the time.
