It was a hot day. It was ALWAYS a hot day here it seemed. After all, it was a desert. Suna wandered about as a small breeze blew some sand her way. It was hard to tell really how much of the sand on her was actually sand and how much was her fur. With the exception of her red tail and hair, she blended in perfectly.
Over all, the desert was a fairly monotonous place. Just sand, sand, and more sand. Today however, the sandy vixen stumbled across something that broke the monotony. What is that? she thought to herself, spotting some abnormal rock formations up ahead (aka: an abandoned town). Curious, she decided to go investigate. It's not as if she had anything else to do anyway.

Flick. Flick... Ka-clank!
Shino had brushed his tail against the dust and sand aged wall of an odd looking rock, causing a small part of it to just chip off at the movement, falling down into the sand. This.. this weird rock. Or tree.. Or whatever it was! This was a rather odd sight, even for him, having lived in the Bamboo Tribe with it's overall weird foxes. "And there's a lot of them, as well." He gave a glance around the area with his maroon eyes, taking in the multitude of other structures like the one he was next to.
The striped fox had stumbled upon the odd place while making one of his usual escapes from his tribe, wanting to get away from his two b*****d children and the uneasiness he felt there. Things weren't the same between his family and him. Particularly his brother, Katsu, and him.

Suna paused just outside of the town when she thought she heard the sound of rock on rock. Lifting her nose up into the air, she caught hold of a familiar scent. So, he's returned to the desert after all, she thought to herself, a smirk forming on her face. She entered the town silently and stealthily, hoping to sneak up on Shino where ever he may be.

"Hm?" Shino gave a tilt of his head, raising his nose up a little more to get a better sense of this... interesting scent. 'Could it be her?.. I wonder.' He thought curiously, thinking back to when he had met Suna with his brother, Katsu, out on the outskirts of the tribe. He and her had made quick friends out of each other, and the earthquake that had ruined the nearby area had been a little tricky to get through near the end of their playdate. It had been one of the lesser known times he had gone and had some.. fun. She was good company. 'I'll just wait and see what happens. I'll bet that she'll show up somewhere around here.' He let a smirk show on his face at the thought, sitting down with a soft 'Thump' and letting his tail curl around his feet loosely.

Suna entered a nearby building and climbed a set of stone stairs, leading her to the second floor. Peeking out of on of the windows, she spotted Shino sitting on the ground down below. Ah, there's my prey, she thought to herself with a devious grin. She half-way contemplated pouncing on him though the window, but she didn't want to actually hurt him... Instead, she settled for stalking back to the floor below and pouncing on him out of one of those windows.
(So, in essence, she's pounced, lol. XP)

Oblivious to Suna being up above him, Shino continued to keep a lookout for her down below, casting his gaze slowly around the area. Then his nose twitched. 'She's getting closer..' He thought, sitting back up from his spot and stretching himself out for the moment. He then gave one more glance before being pounced by particular someone, letting out a startled 'Yip' as he landed on his back. He hadn't expected her to get him that quickly. Shino gave a look at where she had launched her attack from, noting the open window. Why hadn't he noticed earlier? Oh well. "Well, hello again, Suna. Long time no see, hm?"

"Long time indeed," Suna replied with a laugh, giving his ear a quick playful tug before climbing off of him. "Didn't think I would see you this far out into the desert. A bit dangerous, isn't it?" she said with a teasing smile. While overjoyed to see him, she did indeed know how easy it was for one to become lost in such a landscape. "What are you doing out here?"

Giving a nod of his head and a small smirk as she tugged at his ear, Shino rolled back up onto his stomach and stood up. "Dangerous? Nah, not for me. I mean, I do live as a member of the Bamboo Tribe, with it's insane members and everything." He let out a chuckle at his words. "I'm just trying to get away from the tribe. It's been getting to be a little too crowded for me recently, with these past couple of baby booms we've had." His thoughts went to his two unwanted sons, Hachimitsu and Kafun. Should he tell her? Or no? 'Maybe I'll just hold off on that till later..' "So, how have you been out here all by yourself?

"Bored," she admitted sheepishly. "Still, I can't help but love the desert life. I guess it's just a part of me, even if it is rather lonely. So, a baby boom, eh? Having a bunch of kits around sounds rather fun to me." Thinking back, Suna couldn't even remember seeing any other kits when she was a kit, nevertheless now in her adult life.

"Ah, bored? How can you be bored out in a place like this?" Shino gave a light prod at Suna with his paw, flashing a teasing grin. "At least you aren't surrounded by a bunch of foxes all the time. You can get a pretty bad headache with all of those kits running around." He said, letting out a small sigh afterwards. "And I'm presuming you haven't had too much company out here in this area, hm? And.." Giving a look around and gazing at the tall buildings, he tilted his head at an angle. "What's with all of these odd structures?"

"I have no idea," she replied truthfully, looking around them. "I just found this place at the same time you did really." A thought occurred to her than made her grin. "Hey, perhaps humans lived here once! I've heard stories about them, but I've never actually seen one."

"Humans? Out in a place like this?" Shino had to think about the idea for a moment before giving a nod of his head in agreement. "That sounds like it could be right enough." He then gave a curious look at Suna. She had never seen a human before? Wow.. He must have had a rare chance. "You've never seen a human before? They're weird creatures that walk with only their hind legs all the time and make weird noises. I saw one when I was a kit and wandering around the tribe's border. The thing had some metal boxes with open flaps and odd, loose fur that was much different than ours, with bits of meat inside of the boxes, and it was laying them out around the outside of the tribelands. They looked dangerous.." He then gave a smirk as an interesting idea came to his mind. "We could go and look around the place for them. Maybe we'll find something interesting."

Suna listened silently, having heard most of this stuff before. The metal with the meat bit however was rather new to her. "Now when you say "look around for them", do you mean the humans or the metal boxes?" she asked with a small laugh. Either way could prove to be very interesting.

[[M'kay, I get a chance to reply a week after school starts. w> I didn't expect them to fling so much homework at us those first few days. .__.; <3]]
"Them? Why, the humans of cour-.. Well..." Shino gave a wag of his tail behind himself, brushing at the sand below lightly with the bristle furred tip. 'That could be fun, I guess. Maybe something will turn up!' Taking a moment to think over what she had said about the metal snack boxes. "..Yeah, we could go and look around for those metal boxes too. It could turn out to be something of interest. Who knows? We might find some humans along with them." He stood up slowly as he spoke, giving a stretch of one of his hind legs before looking over at her. "Where should we start our little human hunt?"
