It had finally been straightened out. One Dr. Coleman and his daughter would be taking up residence in the apartments run by D-Corp. Now all that remained was the unpacking. Carefully he maneuvered through the boxes that were piled high in the living room. He was really going to have to have a garage sale or something, his last apartment was a lot bigger than this one.
Searching high and low for his new daughter, T'rin felt his stomach clench. It would be their first night together..alone... And it terrified him. Pasting on a strained smile the man called out.
Hidden away in the back of the apartment, Kate was exploring her new home. Here was the bathroom, with shiny knobs and bars perfect to climb on. And over on the side was a small bedroom that had purple tote boxes in it. About to peak in one, her daddy's call rang through the small apartment. Jumping about a food in the air the girl hurried away from the box guiltily. Eager to prove her innocence the girl dashed through the hallway and towards the front room. Kate hurried around a stack of boxes. The chihuahua took the curve a little too tight, bumping into the stack.
It teetered. It tottered. It fell with reverberating crash through the complex.

Next door, the boxes had finally been opened and unpacked. The front room was finally freed from the ugly cardboard boxes and was pretty and pink. Reign was idly flipping through a magazine while Cassi was watching some children's show on TV when a loud crash came from next door.
Cassi yelped, jumping as he was startled from his show. Once again, the wet feeling started. The boy got up and headed to his room. He was getting really good at getting shorts on now...
Reign got up and followed Cassi, making sure he wasn't going to need help. She got the wet clothing and set it in the laundry basket before taking the boy's hand. "Let's go see who made that loud noise..." As far as she'd known, no one lived next to them. Plus, if they lived here, they were sure to have a D-corp child and Cassi needed more friends.
So the pair headed next door and knocked, Cassi hiding just behind Reign in case their neighbors were scary.

Kate barely flinched at the tumble of boxes behind her. Grinning up at her daddy, the girl announced, "Here!" Blinking a bit at his funny reaction Kate tilted her head to the side a bit, watching her dad.
T'rin gasped and lunged forward as the boxes tumbled to the floor, the tinkling of glass breaking following the crash. Wilting as Kate just blinked at him, T'rin rested his head on the floor. "I...I'm glad you're allright..." he muttered to Kate, who just jumped on her Daddy.
"Horsie time?" the rambunctious kid asked, tugging sharply on her father's collared shirt. Kate wriggled as she tried to get the man to start moving. Fortunately a knock at the door prevented Kate from giving her father many more bruises, or choking him.
Dashing up the door Katherine reached up on her tippie toes, barely reaching the handle. "Open, open, open." she chanted as she pulled as hard as she could on the door.
A large hand descended on hers and flicked the lock. As her father began to pull the door open, Kate swatted at his hand. "I do it!" the girl whined, stomping her foot.
"O-okay..." she heard her daddy mutter as Kate proudly dragged the door open, still half hidden behind it.

Cassi moved farther behind his mommy as the door started to open. Why did he have to go see these people? What if big, scary monsters lived here? Huh? Would his mommy be able to fight them off?
The door opened to where they could see T'rin and Reign looked just a bit startled to see someone she'd met before. What were the odds of this? However, her thoughts were interrupted as Cassi recognized the man standing there. "Daddy!" Cassi grinned and ran under the man's legs, looking about for Kate. Where Daddy was, Kate couldn't be far away! Tail wagging, the boy peered about the living room.
Reign was a bit startled to hear Cassi call the man 'Daddy' and run inside. This was not the boy's typical temperament. "Uh... Hi.." Reign managed in greeting.

Kate's ears pricked up with excitement as a familar voice cried out. Letting go of the door she dashed towards Cassi. The girl pounced on her friend, rolling over him in a strange tackle. "CASSI CASSI CASSI!" Her arms tightened around the boy as she hugged him as hard as she could.
T'rin's jaw dropped open at the two people on the other side. The blood drained from his face as the little boy called him Daddy and ran right inside. Staggering backwards he managed to sort of wave Reign in before collapsing on a short stack of boxes labeled books. "This....Thank god Peri's not here...." The man whispered to himself.

Cassi grinned as he was glomped by his bestest friend ever. "Kate!" He hugged the girl back, tail wagging excitedly. "Kate!Kate!Kate!" The world was right once again as he was reunited with his good friend.
Reign managed a smile at the man as she was waved in. She closed the door as T'rin sank onto some of the boxes nearby. "Bit of a surprise..." Personally, she was wondering if this was planned by someone... "We just moved in next door the other day." She glanced around the apartment. "Ours looked like this for a while... finally got rid of all those blasted boxes..."

Yes the world was right again. Everything was right when Cassi and Mommy and Daddy were there! Kate sat up and clapped her hands. "Missed you but met Piper, Niblal, Unc' Peri and a meanie dragon." Lunging forward again Kate attached herself to her Cassi, tail wagging a mile a minute.
T'rin made a faint attempt at a smile, though it probably came out as more of grimace. "Just finished moving...ah...ten minutes ago..." he offered up, too overwhelmed to do more than sit there in a sort of numbness.

Cassi was surprised at how many people Kate had met already. "I met Kli'en... and a scary car man..." The boy hugged the girl back, excited to be back with his other half.
"Really? Wow..." Reign felt a bit bad for coming over, but there was no way that they would be able to seperate the two kids now... Going home tonight was going to be fun...

There was a brief knock at the door before it opened and Peri juggled a box as he tried to close the door. "You forgot a box, T'rin. It's some of Kate's stuff... You do know that she's a bit young to be wearing thongs, right? She-" The man turned and spotted Reign, pausing a moment. "Oh, sorry. Didn't know you had company..."

Kate's eyes narrowed anger tinged with guilt. "Scary car man...?" she repeated, the guilt growing. She was supposed to protect Cassi! And she wasn't even around. Kate clutched her Cassi harder. She was here now! No scarey men would get him.
T'rin nodded still staring at the mess his new apartment was. "Yeah..." He shot a pained look at how tightly Kate was holding onto Cassi. "Uh... Tonight's going to be hard.." he said unconciously echoing the thoughts of the woman beside him. He was not looking forward to another one of Kate's tantrums.
Whatever he had been about to say was lost as the one person he didn't want to see came waltzing in.
"UNC' PERI!" Kate screeched, dragging Cassi over to the man, though she dropped his hand a few steps away and pounced on her uncle, regardless of the boxes.

Cassi nodded. "Yeah, but he helped Mommy find a pretty car! Though it didn't have a balloon on it..." The boy was sad about that fact. Suddenly, he was being dragged across the front room towards a man he didn't know. But if Kate knew him, then he had to be safe, right?
Reign blinked at the man that came in. Who was this guy? He obviously knew T'rin well enough to feel at home here...

Peri stumbled as the welcoming committee greeted him with a pouncing. "Easy, Kate..." He lowered the box to set it on the floor before he dropped it. "You liking your new home?" He asked the girl, before noticing Cassi standing nearby. "Who's your friend?"

Kate tugged Peri towards Cassi, tail never slowing. "Cassi, My Unc' Peri. Unc' Peri, My Cassi!" the girl proclaimed proudly. Letting go of Peri's hand Kate threw her arms around Cassi again.
"Uh.. Peri..." T'rin's voice faltered. "Th-thank you..." The man half rose to greet his brother when Kate rushed past him. Stumbling a bit he wanly smiled at the group, unintentionally including Reign in that.

Cassi smiled a bit hesitantly up at the man. "Hi..." The boy clung to Kate, glad that she was there with this man around. The boy otherwise would've run back to his mother.
Reign glanced at T'rin and gathered that he wasn't going to introduce this man. The poor guy looked rather worn out. From what little she'd seen of Kate, the girl had to be a handful... "I'm Reign, Cassi's mother." The woman introduced herself to Peri.

Peri smiled at the boy, noting how nervous the poor kid was. "So this is the Cassi you've talked about, Kate." He glanced towards the woman, grinning happily. "I'm Perilas Coleman. I'm in charge of the dragon classes at D-corp and I've got a little boy of my own, though he's older than these two... I live in the complex, so perhaps Nibal could come play with them sometime... though he'd have to leave Kal at home..." The last part was more to himself, since the green and Kate did not get along at all.
