It had been one week, 2 days, and five hours since Dubwana'dubu had seen his new friend Gouta, not that he was counting or anything. Of course not. His leg was now pretty much healed up, he just walked with a slight limp. It wasn't severe enough to impede his hunting, just made it look kinda funny when he walked around. The sun was slowly setting, throwing long shadows across the Savannah. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, but there was a calm breeze making the grass dance.
The sunset was glorious full of reds, yellows, and oranges but Bwana, being asleep and sprawled across a large boulder that was warm from the sun, was missing it. Not that he minded really, he was asleep and had been for a good two hours. What he did mind were his highly confusing dreams.
He was curled up around something, it was warm and soft and...breathing? Opening one gold eye he glanced down slowly, scared it was the monster that bit him, but then sighed in relief when he saw it was just Gouta. He didn't even question why he was curled up around him, or why he was enjoying being so close to the other male. It just seemed natural. Smiling lazily, he buried his head in Gouta's mane, nuzzling the sandy male until he twitched and yawned slowly waking up.
"'Morning sunshine" Grinning he licked Gouta's maw, getting a nuzzle from the rogue in return. The sandy lion then looked around confused, it was the middle of the day. Why was he sleeping in the middle of the day? Turning to Bwana he voiced his confusion. Hun, why were we asleep at noon?" The black and white lion grinned deviously in response and nipped playfully at Gouta's ears. "Because we were too busy having fun last night" Gouta's eyes widened as he remembered what they had spent the night doing and then he grinned as well. "That reminds me, I still have to get you back for ambushing me!" And then Bwana found himself pinned under the other male, a grin on both their faces...
"Mmmm, Gouta..." Bwana talked in his sleep, his tail and paws twitching. Maybe he didn't mind so much.

Gouta thought about him often. Mostly hoping that he got along fine, hoping he wasn't too hurt from the incident with the crocodile. Not a day would go by without Bwana crossing his mind. He desperately wondered if they would bump into each other again. Even if they never did, he would cherish that one day forever, thinking of the lion that saved his life and the life that could have been lost.
Since the sun was setting, Gouta set out to find a lone antelope. Hopefully a hurt, young, dead or dying one at that. Gouta of course never really learned how to hunt, but he really wanted to eventually learn how to kill something faster than an already dead carcass. Normally when he was hungry, he would find a hyena or two that would be willing to share their meal with him. It was quite weird how kind the hyena's were to him, he supposed when they saw how thin he was, they couldn't turn him away. That or they were fearful of him.
His sandy colored head peeked out above the grass as he walked, searching for something to catch. Walking by a huge rock, he didn't even realize the familiar smell that floated into his nostrils. Pausing, he lifted his nose into the air and sniffed. Bwana?
It was definitely him, but where could he be?

Being upwind from Gouta Bwana didn't catch his scent, and so continued to slep...and dream.
He was pinned on his back under Gouta's smaller body, paws in the air. Of course he could easily push the other male off him but he didn't really want to. He enjoyed the other male's weight on top of him and his dream self found that perfectly normal. His dream self loved it, loved Gouta actually. He grinned as Gouta leaned down and licked his muzzle. "You call this payback, love?" Bwana smirked and Gouta just grinned deviously "Babe, I haven't even begun to pay you back"
Bwana shivered, his tail twitching if he had been awake he would have been confused and at a total loss for what to do. He wasn't supposed to be having these kind of feelings for another male. At least his dream seld could enjoy himself. So much so that Bwana continued to talk in his sleep. "Ooooh Gouta"

Gouta passed by the boulder, oblivious to where Bwana could possibly be. His heart sank a little when all he could do is smell him, but he couldn't be found anywhere! Was he dead or something? Pacing around the vicinity of the smell, he eventually gave up and decided speak.
"Bwana?"
He called out, his golden eyes dancing around the darkening savanna. Hopefully the other lion would awaken and hear Gouta's call. Poor Gouta wouldn't know what to do next if he didn't!
"Ooooh Gouta."
The sandy lion's ears perked instantly and his eyes drifted over from where the voice came from. What in the world? Peering at the boulder, he wan't exactly sure if it was even Bwana that said that. Could rocks speak? They couldn't could they?
"Is that you, Bwana?"

The sound of Gouta's voice reaching Bwana's ears made them twitch and slowly pulled him out of his dream. Groggily he yawned and stretched out, that had been one strange dream. He knew he didn't like Gouta like that but...the dream had been surprisingly nice. He shook his head, he'd just try to forget the dream. He was pretty sure that Gouta had no such feelings for him so they could still be friends.
Gouta's second call for him reached his ears and he decided it was time to get up. He pushed himself up to his paws, his back arching upwards as he stretched. He then reached forwards with his paws, his butt in the air as he stretched out that way as well. Once he was good and awake he hopped off the boulder, landing just in front of Gouta. Seeing him so soon after the weird dream he had was a bit awkward but he tried to ignore it.
"Hey, Gouta" He smiled, things would have been so much more awkward if the black and white male knew that he talked in his sleep. Fortunately he didn't know he had been calling out for the sandy lion as he slept.

The sandy lion jumped back slightly, a bit surprised that Bwana had landed right in front of him. He had an incredible urge to nuzzle him, but he knew that'd be wrong. Male lions don't nuzzle each other. Bwana's dark mane was so handsome, Gouta almost felt bad that he had been cursed with a light colored mane. He tried to keep his eyes focused on something else, the bush, the tree anything but Bwana.
"Hey." Gouta said, his eyes drifting to a little bird twittering in a nearby tree. "I was looking for you. I smelled your scent as soon as I came into this area! I'm surprised you didn't hear me before now."

Bwana shifted his weight from paw to paw, wondering if somehow the sandy rogue knew what he had been dreaming about and hated him for it. His nervous feeling wasn't helped at all by the fact that the other male refused to look at him. He felt antsy, almost as if he was supposed to be all over Gouta like in his dream. Of course, he would never do anything like that in reality. He would probably get attacked. Pulling his mind away from those thoughts he stared at the sandy male seeming to have the opposite problem that Gouta did. He couldn't stop staring at him.
Hearing that Gouta had been looking for him made his heart swell and he couldn't help but smile. He didn't know why (well he had his suspicions that he refused to believe) the fact that the other male had been searching out had made him so happy. Hearing the rest of his sentence he glanced up at the boulder before he looked back towards Gouta. "Oh, I was asleep." His smile turned sheepish and he looked down at the ground, unsure of what to say now.
I could tell him about my dream.... He almost opened his maw to tell him about it but then he realized what exactly he was thinking of doing. Was he crazy? So instead of saying anything at all he just stood there, his gaze alternating from Gouta's face to the ground and then back again.

Gouta's eyes flicked to Bwana and then back to the little bird. He wasn't quite sure why he was acting so nervous. It's not like he had a reason to be or anything. Sure, perhaps he had daydreamed about this dear friend of his once or twice, but he would swear it wasn't naughty. Gouta would not stand for anything like that. At least, in his mind he wouldn't.
As Bwana said that he had been asleep, Gouta let out a soft chuckle. "I wish I could lie around all day. But my dreams keep me awake more often than not."
Smiling, he watched as Bwana awkwardly took turns from looking at the ground and looking at him. Gouta wondered to himself. Why is he acting so weird? But then just brushed it aside as his personality. Maybe Gouta didn't really remember Bwana that well.

Hearing the word 'dreams' Bwana's eyes widened and he stared at Gouta. He was having dreams too? Could they be the same kind of dreams as he was having? He stepped closer to the other male, distracted from his awkward feelings by his curiosity about the other male's dreams. "Dreams? What do you dream about?" His ears were perked forwards and he was definitely in Gouta's personal space.
If he had been thinking rationally he would have known that his actions would have most definitely been considered strange. Unfortunately he wasn't thinking rationally, he just wanted to know whether or not he was the only one having strange dreams. It was a long shot that they dreams would have anything in common but if they did....wouldn't that mean his dreams weren't wrong? If two lions had the same feelings, even if they were both males, it would be okay....wouldn't it? He could only hope so because he wasn't sure how long he could keep his weird dreams and feelings a secret.

Gouta wasn't really expecting such a reaction when he mentioned dreams. It was true. Gouta would have odd dreams about all sorts of things, hunting, being killed, falling in love. He cocked his head to the side. Why would Bwana be so interested?
"About pink elephants." Gouta muttered softly with a wink. "Don't you have dreams about pink elephants?"
Hopefully Gouta would make Bwana laugh a little. It was so odd how he was acting around him. Gouta collapsed to his haunches and smiled at his friend. Making eye contact with Bwana, a chill ran down his spine. Woah. Not again...

Pink...elephants? Bwana sighed feeling a bit let down, it seemed that Gouta didn't have the same kind of dreams that he did. Dreams where they cuddled, and teased each other and the sandy lion would wink at him....like he just did. The wink made him shiver all over. He barely caught Gouta's question and when he did he couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, uh...yeah, I do." He managed a small smile, watching the other male but trying not meeting his eyes.
Of course, he couldn't avoid looking into Gouta's eyes forever and when their eyes did meet he felt all the air go out of him. It was a very.....unique indescribable feeling. It was the tingly feeling all over that made him do what he did next, at least that was what he would blame it on.
"Actually, no, I don't dream about pink elephants. I...." He paused and smiled, still looking into the other male's eyes. "I dream about you." Did I actually say that out loud? Bwana wanted to die, you wouldn't be able to tell from the outside but on the inside the black and white rogue was dying of embarrassment. He waited for Gouta's response, ready to get the hell out of there if something drastic happened and he was attacked by him, while he could defend himself against the smaller rogue he didn't want to have to. Through all this he couldn't keep the smile off his face, or look away from Gouta's golden eyes. Yeah, he didn't understand it either.

Gouta's eyes widened as Bwana mentioned that he dreamed of him. How...odd. Not saying anything, Gouta turned and faced the opposite direction, perpendicular to Bwana. The sandy lion almost felt honored that the male had dreams about him. But wasn't that a little bit...weird? Weird. At least, Gouta would never admit to having dreams about a male. But the truth was, he did. He really did have dreams about Bwana. Something must have struck them when they first met, they must be soul-mates.
Staring at the ground now, Gouta didn't know what to say. It was definitely not the most relaxing time in his life. He had to think of something, oh what would that something be?!
"Well. I guess I am pretty handsome."
WHAT. What did I just say?!
"Heheh. Yep..."
Gouta's eyes glanced up at Bwana's face, and then quickly darted back down to the grass.
Great...

Bwana shifted his weight nervously as he waited for the other male to respond. As he waited he watched Gouta turn away from him, that didn't seem like a good thing. He sighed, usually he was the big strong protective one but at the moment he wanted to slink away and crawl under a rock.
When the sandy lion finally spoke up Bwana's maw dropped. He wasn't really sure how to respond to that. Gouta hadn't seemed that conceited when they first met. He slowly shut his maw and sat down, tail twitching.
"So, uhm..." He cleared his throat, yeah he found the sandy male handsome, but he wasn't going to openly admit it Damn it.... He had no idea what he was going to do now.
"Er, it's....nice out." Yeah, that was lame but he didn't know what else to say, Gouta didn't really reveal any feelings that he may or may not have for the panda lion. He didn't want to say something that would make him seem really weird.

Gouta wondered to himself why they were acting like this. When they first met it wasn't this awkward, they had a lot of fun. What was coming between them? The knowledge of Bwana having dreams about Gouta? That couldn't be it. Then it suddenly struck him like a bolt of lightning. Bwana. Bwana liked him. That's why Bwana was having dreams about him, and that's why they were being so awkward now. It was almost relieving to finally figure this out. Gouta felt the same.
Looking pretty uneasy, Gouta gave Bwana a glance. And then stretched up and nudged Bwana's neck with his head.
"Hey...it's okay. We don't have act so weird. I think...I get it."
Resting his head under Bwana's chin, Gouta couldn't stop thinking. Thinking how great it was to smell his mane. How relaxing it was to get that off his chest. Even if he didn't really imply anything. He implied it by his motions.

He was so distracted by his nervous thoughts that he nearly jumped out of his skin when Gouta nudged him. He didn't though, he just flinched slightly, looking down at the sandy male. His eyes showed his confusion, but when the other male spoke his eyes widened slightly and then shrank to their usual size, no longer confused but visibly relieved.
He sighed, a smile growing on his maw as Gouta nuzzled his head under his chin. The sandy lion felt like he fit in perfectly against the other rogue. He was sure that he could hear his deep, rumbly purr but he couldn't help it, he was happy for the first time in weeks- no longer plagued by the thought that his feelings were wrong.
It was almost strange how quickly he could accept that his feelings could be okay, but he'd been wanting to accept them....he just had no one to tell him it was okay, until now. Nuzzling his head against Gouta he smiled widely. "Really...you do? I'm glad." He leaned towards and against the sandy rogue, not with enough force to knock him over, just enough to feel close to the other lion.
"So....whadda we do now?" He wasn't sure what to do with his feelings, he wouldn't know what to do even if he had feelings towards a female. He had never felt this way, or been in a relationship before so it was all new to him.
