That a good number of the people out there do NOT have an adequate understanding of physics, of the laws that which govern our lives in every detail.

Now, the average person doesn't need to know the nuances of turbulent fluid flow, or astrophysics... but a good knowledge of the basics is indeed, at least, a very helpful thing to help avoid making mistakes (kinda like algebra) (mistakes like misunderstanding how your car will react when you brake suddenly...) (experience helps with those mistakes, but a little bit of knowledge goes a long way) (love all these parenthesises?)

That being said, lets stretch our minds for a little bit, and see just how much we know...

What'cha get? And, you'll see just what kind of notions you have that are wrong... or you can give yourself a pat on the back for your knowledge. And, maybe even learn something! ^__^ (learn, on spring break? Is are we crazy?!)

I got an A... ^_^ And a in-your-face realization of the limits of thermal energy... x_o

Oh, and the site itself http://intuitor.com/moviephysics/ is a great read for some of your movies! n_n

Love how they bash on "The Core" LOL.

The Core was funny.

"THAT STATIC ON THE SCREEN! THERE MUST BE AN AIR POCKET AHEAD!"

"WITH FOURTY MILES OF MANTLE PRESSURING IT"

"YES!"

"OF COURSE, HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO BLIND?!?"

I watched it in a science class. We were given points for pointing out their errors.

OMG!

The reason SOME people don't KNOW about physics is because SOME people don't have the attention span necessary to care about it. Meaning, I can't sit in a room with a guy talking to me about terminal velocity for an hour, and I don't even know if that's physics... I have a p***s to think about.

No offense, ILU Sib-Meister!

I'm about half way done with that quiz thing... I've been halfway done for about 10 minutes now... so yeah, the outlook on me finishing... is not so good...

EDIT-- Your Total Score is 52.5 %

That's OK, I plan on getting laid soon. biggrin

EDIT2-- BUZZ, YOU ARE SUCH A DOUCHEBAG!!! scream

Same here...
... although I've never gotten the opportunity to take physics.
Or chemistry, or biology... or "Earth Science" o-o"
Two more years xD

75% >.>

I realized my mistake at the car accelerating around a corner question after I saw my answer was wrong. Other than that, I just plumb didn't know the other questions. Not bad though, I took a basic physics course last year, and I owe a lot of my knowledge of the field to a video game I got when I was like 9. Super Solver's Gizmos and Gadgets! ^_^ My CD's all scratched up, but I got an emulator for it a few weeks ago 'cause I wanted to relive my young childhood.

I would probably do that if I didn't absolutely loathe science XP
