They're metal. Storyteller and Darksend. Never heard of them, but I don't regret buying either. surprised They're not bad at all. Not my favorite metal but still good.
I bought them on the 4th story of my friends' loft, where I work on weekends usually. It's a mini store of old records and CDs.

Just looked them up on Encyclopædia Metallum. Storyteller seems to be good as you say, judging by the reviews. Darksend is more obscure though, but damn, that "black metal" label really looks good! biggrin
PS: If you can get your hands on any album by Goatskrieg, you'll be God. These guys are from Svalbard. One of their original members is dead... of hypothermia, of course.

Storyteller has this medieval bard feeling to them. Well, the cover of the album and the song titles do. I'll check into Goatskrieg when I go back there. What kind of metal are they?

Darksend... they sound really familiar.... You see, when I was "goth" I dated this black/death-metalhead dude (which was a complete waste of time stare ) and he got me into this black/death metal stuff for a little bit and I think that was one of his favorite bands. Granted, this was back during my freshman/sophomore year of high school and I'm a freshman in college now... so I was like what... 14/15 then? I'm 18 now. So it's been a while. He was hardcore, man. Him and his black/death-metal buddies would have photo shoots of themselves in the woods in the snow with axes and swords and those crazy spiked boots and arm things and corpsepaint. And my ex-bf would make this crazy bad black metal music he recorded himself and he just sounded like he had something stuck in his throat and played guitar very horribly because he couldn't concentrate on what the hell he was doing due to the fact that something had obviously lodged itself in his throat. I pretty much dated him as long as I did because I feared he would kill himself instantly... I don't mean this to be funny, because I'm serious. He had a pretty bad life and I was the only one who ever really loved him, not just gf-wise but pretty much anyone-wise, including his own parents. Well, I guess his twin brother loved him, but you see what I mean? But like, I was coming out as a bisexual girl, was listening to a lot of Ani DiFranco (which is folk music, pretty opposite of black/death metal), and realized I needed to find myself without him conjoined at my hip. I also realized that I had changed and didn't want to be gothy and sad anymore and that our personalities totally clashed beyond repair. To this day I don't even know where he is. I think I saw him walking on the sidewalk once last year while my school bus went through a neighborhood. *shrug*
...I didn't mean to get into this whole thing about my ex-boyfriend at all. But yeah, I know more about the world of black/death metal than you guys probably would have thought. Maybe it's Darkthrone I'm thinking of, not Darksend. I don't know. ninja
(And in case you're wondering, yes, I'm still bisexual, that kind of thing doesn't just go "POOF!" I've known it since I was a little girl, before I even know what being gay was.)

Oh, nothing wrong with being bi, Amber. You're not like those little teens who think being bi makes them cooler, even though they're straight. surprised
Haha, the kind of hardcore death metal heads kind of scare me. I mean, I know a guy at school who's a complete metalhead - in fact I saw him for a while and I always wanted to talk to him. He wears a long black coat and has long hair, typical metal gear, but that's it. He has a band, but it's not just clashing crap with annoying grunts. I heard his stuff. It's pretty good. He's also my friend now. So all's well!
I turned into a metalhead a few months ago, when my friend made me rediscover Nightwish. Then I got into Sonata Arctica. And since then, here I am, a guy who dresses all in black and has long hair - but I didn't even notice. sweatdrop
Anyway, I am ranting.

Wow. Never thought you were bi, Amber. And like you said, it's good for you to have found your true orientation. These girls who act all bisexual while on the night club are usually the kind of dumb blondes who just act like this to titillate us dudes.
And by the way, now that you two mention it... even though my friends are mostly hicks, we know a couple of gothsy people. One of them is a friend from high school, the other is a girl from college. The former is a super-tall dude who always wears big boots, a black trenchcoat and an awesome pair of shades, the latter is an all punksy-goth girl with red hair, black shirt, loads and loads of black eyeliner, black nail polish, stuff like that. We all found them to be among the coolest people in the entire high school. surprised
