This is a long one, i'm sorry i tried to break things up so that this wouldn't happen but... well now by writing this i just made it longer didn't I? I should shut up now. Sorry.This will be like a democracy kind of thing. I'll list several themes and you can vote on which one you want to do.
My plan is to have several role plays going at once. Because some people want ooc kind of role plays where other people want to keep to the script. Some people will want a romance where others will want action. Some of you are going to want yaoi/yuri/hentai where others are just grossed out totally by it. I hope this explanation has done you some sort of good on understanding why we're doing it this way.
Ok now for the themes
[I am writing the drawbacks and issues with each theme so that you know what your getting yourself into. I know that there are many people who haven't role played [ever or in a while or with so many people] and i want it to go the best that it can.]
Romance
I don't think this would work to well. It might result in a lot of fights. Jealous jealous fan girls/guys [you know who you are] whose feelings are hurt because they don't get L, Light, Ryuk, Misa, Rem etc. Because only ONE person can get the character. And you are not the only one who obsesses over him/her day and night. Remember that when you're voting for this.
Action
not much to say about this except NO POWER PLAYING/GOD MODING!!! that is so annoying. Well unless your a shinigami then you can't exactly get killed. But you know what I mean.
Funny/random
for those of you who want a lighter role play. This will not be serious at all. Because it's aggrivating when people post random things in a serious role play. Yes there can be a bit of humor in the other role plays. This is where you can just be random and goof around. You know talking meatballs, a log, clucky etc etc
yaoi/yuri/hentai
not my interest but I want to be fair to those of you who like that kind of stuff. I'm not putting it down or discouraging it. Um so if there is enough interest i'll have someone who wants this role play, to be in charge of it. Which means a promotion. Oh one more thing, keep it pg-13 please for obvious reasons.
During the time skip
[heh long title] Basically fill in what happened during all the times when the series didn't go in to detail about it. Only problem with this would be it could go off topic.
Any other suggestions? These are not the only possible themes, just the ones i could think of. If you have any idea, critisizm (sp?), or comments please please post them here.

I Guess action is the best one... but a little bit of something else would be interesting...
I thought about something like: "1 Rplayer is kira, but we don't know who he or she is, the other ones may be with or against kira... " and it would be more like the series but I have to think about it a little bit more: things like: how can we find who is kira, how kira is chosen, how to kill people, how to... a big bunch of things...
If I get something clear I'll tell you...
If you can help me with ideas I'll be thankful xDD

"Oh my. This is embarressing. I would rather romance, but on one of my websites I already have Light after Cassie. So for me it would be either romance (my strong point) or Action (not my best but I'm pretty good even though my characters get thrown around in most roleplaying, but I like that. XP )
But please no Funny or Random. I don't really like that. I'm voting against that because it's just..annoying to me. (>_<) And honestly I wouldn't like yaoi/yuri/hentai either because that everyone in the show is straight, and hentai scares me. ( XP LoL. )
So all and all I want romance, because even if I don't get Light, I play a good depressed girl!"

If you can help me with ideas I'll be thankful xDD This would be a good idea axcept that too many people would want to be kirra(know from exp.) and if they dont get thier way they will be fustrated and disregard the who is who rules. But if it does go off without a hitch i would vote for this. But if not.... action is the best way to go. biggrin

mmhmm...action or time skip I guess. Funny's o-k even though I'm a bit too stable/tame right now for that...? o.O
Hm, yeah this isn't not much help, but
I wouldn't mind playing Kira's supporter just a tad more than L's.

Hey guys, I really appreciate your approval or dissaproval about the themes. But I really am just trying to see how many people would be interested in each catagory. I'll post the explanation of how we plan on the role plays going soon. Eaither today or tomorow once we've figured out all the bugs. Please keep posting, and if you have an idea for a theme make sure to post it. So make sure to say which theme(s) you would be interested in. Thanks.

Well, since you wanted more than one to be going on at a time, I'll give my top three: (1) Time Skip, (2) Action, and (3) Funny.
Yes, all of them do have their drawbacks, but they could all end up being very interesting! Especially Time Skip, where we can, in a sense, become the writers of the story. Of course it would be rather difficult to stay true to the Death Note-ness of it, but it would still be fun. Especially writting in the fifty days in which Light and his fater were imprisoned, not neccesarally from the point of view of the main characets, but perhaps the rest of the Yagami family. Or maybe of Sayu, during the period of 2007-2012 and how she deals with both her father and brother working on the Kira case.
But, maybe I'm thinking on it too much. ^_^
