Edward was usually found in the land of Gaia, at the house where Trelweny and her family resides... that being where Lilianna lives and where he's recently become an official part of the family. However, the small alchemist has now been found at the Realm HQ.
He was currently flopped on his back with an open alchemy book face down on his stomach and a paw on top of that as he slept upon the bed. Mouth was held slightly agape silently as he lay there in slumber. Who knows what brought him back here.. perhaps he needed a change of pace or scenery for awhile. It had been awhile since he'd been here, and he probably should visit some friends and family of his. But it seemed he had been brushing up on his alchemy knowledge before he had succumed to the peaceful darkness. Oh well... it wasn't an unusual thing for Edward to sleep a lot.. and quite soundly at that.

And asleep was where Atae found him when she slipped into the room to return the book she'd borrowed most recently. She blinked at him in a pleased sort of startlement before quietly setting the book down on the small table near the bed and carefully tugging her bookmark out of the cover. Wonder if he'd remember this little trick? Hee. She slipped it into his open mouth and stepped back, covering her mouth with a paw to try and keep from giggling aloud.

And... guess what... there was no reaction at all. Edward was a pretty hard sleeper most of the time. So he looked rather silly lying there with a bookmark stuck in his mouth. He has been marked! Hopefully he wouldn't end up accidentally choking on the thing or something.

Atae tilted her head with a slightly frustrated wrinkling of her brow and removed the bookmark. She simply watched Ed for a few moments - deciding both that he looked good grown and that it hadn't done a thing to change him aside from that - before she leaned back over. This time she had the bookmark upside down and tried tickling his nose with the tassled end of the string tied to it.

This got more of a reaction out of him... his mouth closing and his nose twitching a bit at the tickling. Eventually while still asleep.. his flesh paw lifted to rub once at his nose, "Stop it Al.." he muttered almost inaudibly before turning over onto his side and continued to snooze.

That did elicit a giggle out of Atae, try as she might to hold it in. She put the bookmark away and re-examined the situation before she finally decided to start tugging Ed off the bed by his coat. He'd either wake up at the tugging, or wind up on the floor. And if that didn't wake him up... she'd go find a bucket and some ice water.

It was during the tugging that Edward started to awaken... but it didn't happen soon enough because he ended up on the floor with a loud thud and clank of metal. A startled yelp came from him and eyes flew wide open before he quickly got to his paws.. looking around and his sights landing on Atae.
"HEY! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" His temper flaring briefly with that 'I'm gonna eat your face off look' before sitting down and just scowling in a half pouting/irritable fashion. Hmph.

Atae somehow managed to straighten her face after the yelp and the shouted question and looked Ed straight in the eye and in the most deadpan tone she could manage said, "You were drooling."
Then she laughed uncontrollably for a minute before reaching over to give Ed a slightly akward one-armed hug. She still wasn't very good at physical displays of affection, but there were a few people she'd at least make the effort for. "'Sides... I've missed you and you know full well how hard it is to wake you up in a civilized fashion."

"WAS NOT!" he protested, but still lifted his paw to his mouth to check if there was any drool. However, he did blink as he was pulled into the hug, and just muttered and gave a huff. He did, however, hug her back even if a little begrudingly.
"What are you doing here?" he then asked in a still annoyed fashion, but he wasn't yelling atleast! Still too groggy to remember that she had been borrowing alchemy books.

Atae pulled her paw back and fidgeted slightly, grinning sheepishly as she finally lifted the other to point at the alchemy book on the table. "Well... I know I didn't really have time to get started before you left but you said to keep reading and all... so I have been. Tried a couple of little transmutations... not anything really big, though... I'm kinda nervous about it..." Mischievous though she could be, Atae was still the bashful little kit she'd always been on the inside, and no matter how good she might be at doing something she could never really bring herself to believe it without being told... sometimes several times. Without easy access to Ed she hadn't really had anyone to ask. Al was nice and all, but even if he was Ed's brother she didn't really know him that well just yet.

Blink blink. Oh yeah. Edward finally managed a small grin as she told him about what she'd been doing. He'd never actually taught anyone alchemy before.. so this would be a new thing for him.
"Well.. why don't you show me what you've learned so far? Which books have you read?" Reading was what got him to learn the most basic alchemy... it was after he and Alphonse had their teacher that he became a more advanced alchemist. It would take a lot of hard work and dedication for Atae to become really good at it.. but she didn't have the reasons that the Elric brothers had. So she might not go any farther than amateur alchemy.

Atae picked up the book she'd brought back so Ed could see it and then put it back on the shelf with the others and pointed out the books she'd read. Mostly the more basic things, a few with information on more advanced things that she adamantly indicated she hadn't tried to mess with and was simply reading to find out more about it. Then she showed him some of the transmutation circles she'd been using and a few of the "marbles" she'd made with broken dishes. "The triplettes manage to break a few once in a while... they're like those three angelic kits at Trel's place, but they're boys. I told Kitsyn what I wanted to do and she figured someone might as well make use of them." Her grin was amused and sheepish at the same time. "Shoom takes most of them... I'm not sure what he does with them, honestly, aside from turn himself into a walking rattle from time to time. But... well no one really has any idea what goes on in Shoom's head, 'cept maybe Bryn."
Blink. Speaking of Bryn... "And ah... well Bryn ran across this guy, another one from a Before. He's nutty as a fruitcake, but they get along amazingly well. He sorta followed her home like a lost puppy and never left and they've gotten rather attached to eachother in their peculiar way." Fidget. "Like... she's pregnant now sort of attached." Sweatdrop.

Ed nodded as she showed him what he'd been reading. She's certainly been busy if she's gone through all those books. A little grin coming to his maw as she told him of her marble experiments with dishes. "Well the best thing is to keep practicing.. but don't limit yourself to the same thing... try something harder and different. Also.. you need to know about the basic elements and natural laws... picking up a chemistry book wouldn't hurt either. The law of conservation of mass is pretty much along the same lines as equivalent exchange for example."
Its then that she went into talking to Bryna. When she mentioned that the little hyper kid he had known had found a guy.. Ed's eyes widened a bit. But shen she told him she was pregnant, his jaw nearly hit the floor.

Atae half grinned, half grimaced in agreement with Ed's jaw dropping, though she gently reached over and shut it for him. "Ah... yeah... that was pretty much our reaction too. Though I guess I shouldn't have been too suprised, with how easily attached she gets to people she actually has feelings for..." She grinned sheepishly again. "Especially with how the rest of that family seems to get when they fall in love..." Gasp. Was that a sly wink? Shame on her!
Atae looked at all the books on the shelf thoughtfully, not really intentionally trying to change the subject back to the previous line. "I'll find something else to try. Heck... I could probably just try fixing the dishes..." She grinned slightly. "And... chemistry books. Remus would probably have some of those at his library, right?"

Edward's golden eyes blinked once as his mouth was shut for him. He looked a little sheepish for a moment. Although he blinked yet again as she continued, folding his ears back. He wondered if Bryna thought he ditched her or something.. cause well.. they hadn't seen each other in awhile. But it seems that she's been rather.. busy as of late anyway, as has he. Then a blush appeared on his cheeks and ears with the wink that she gave him. He knew what she meant by that... having overheard that Bryna was related to Lilianna.
He had to do a whole shifting of mental gears when Atae returned the subject to alchemy. "Uh..." he hesitated for a moment as he switched those gears, "Yeah it should.. he has almost everything in there."
