Completed! heart
Jade, Rei and Tahj, if it's alright with you can we keep this thread for now if it falls back a couple pages and doesn't clutter up the active RP?

For now, please dunnot post 'less ye be Tweek or Werewolf. :3

(( I'm gonna start off with Yero, feel free to throw in whoever you like ^_^ ))

Yero lounged at the bank of a small open meadow, his silky black coat resembling bird's feathers in places absorbing the warm afternoon sun. The raven wolf cracked a yawn, his pink tongue sliding from it's ivorn cage as his ears folded back with release. It was a gorgeous day, made even more so by being blessed by the birth of his and his mate's first litter. The black wolf was tired, having stayed up much of the previous night as Whinn had gone through labor, and he had retreated to this sunny solace to give her a bit of privacy with the brood she'd worked so hard to bring into the world. Lazily, Yero's tail thumped against the ground without him noticing. It was good to be a father.

With the summer months waning, and autumn only weeks away, the yearling she-wolf felt a pull to finally go out and seek that little bit of adventure which had always tugged at the back of her mind. Harlequin was an adult now, and there was much to be done with the bountiful life strung through her.

So after some traveling, for she first attempted to follow the lone wolf Kirra which ended up nowhere, the black female found herself facing a large meadow. The sun was shining brightly against the long green grasses, and her yellow eyes quickly surveyed the area in slow thought. Alone, she made efforts to be careful...but inexperience also hindered her judgment. With a steady stride, the female crossed into the field. At once, her red tipped ears slowly flicked about; and following in suit her tail swished in the movement.

It was a lovely day really, Harlequin thought slowly, her head bobbing about. A wolfish grin snaked across her tapered muzzle. Lovely enough for a run, which was just what she planned to do; until she caught sight of a large inky black shape in the distance. She was in mid bound when it caught her attention, and at once she pulled herself to a stop, her red paws digging into the earth with the recoil. The She hesitated for a moment. Privately, Harle ridiculed herself for having missed being downwind of the male. But she was a amiable sort, and although she knew well of the dangers of the world, her nature compelled her to not simply duck and run away. Instead, she took a moment to compose herself- an act which took a few strokes of her pink tongue against her chest fur and face, and a slight fluff of her tail.

Looking somewhat decent now, and hopefully not like some villainous marauder, the she continued her steady walk. The She did nothing to attract more attention to herself then necessary, but as she crossed the small lateral line from where she had started and where the black wolf sat, she uttered a small 'woof' to alert the other of her presence, and hopefully not startle him. Then, in a questioning remark, flattened her ears and slightly thrushed the end of her tail as a banner of good-will.

Yero's muzzle turned sharply to look over his shoulder at the soft sound of paws against the ground. His sanguine eyes honed in on the female just as she was in midleap, and caught her jerky stop-motion as she brought herself to a hasty standstill. He gave a good humored bark, canting his pitchy ears toward the other, but otherwise made no move to single out her motions. She looked a little sheepish and he didn't want her to feel overly embarrassed, whoever she was. Quickly the male's eyes roamed the other and his brain registered her faint scent, gathering information. She seemed to be a bit younger than him, perhaps just entering adulthood. As she tilted back her ears and wagged her tail in friendly silence, Yero gave her a smile, succumbing to the genial air. "'Lo there!" He wuffed in his basso rumble. "Lovely day,"

As soon as the awkwardness of stumbling upon the other wolf's present dwelling faded into a pleasant welcome, the black she quickly covered the remaining distance between them. Although she did try to be cautious, occasionally youthful vigor won over her.

"Hello there!" She spoke, coming to a slow trot the last few feet. She kept back just a few scant feet, to make sure she did not appear too intruding. The end of her blue and red flanked tail bantered about in a pleasant wave, and grinning, she dipped her head. "It is a good day!" Harlequin agreed, her head rising and her ears pulling upwards. She was a lean, and angular wolf, still a bit leggy from adolescence; but despite her pleased manner she tried sternly not to appear obnoxious. Especially to older wolves.

Her tail flashed again as she corrected her stance, regarding the deep black male in front of her. "Ah;" She paused a moment to glance over to the start of the field. "A bit sorry to wander in on you like this. I'm afraid I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." She chuckled softly and nodded a bit apologetically. "My name is Harlequin."

Harle hung for a moment, waiting for a response. But before one could be uttered, she quickly made note to add; "How do you do?" She sat as she spoke, gathering herself up to a more adult expression.

"No trouble, I have no claim on these lands. My family lives closer to the river." Yero glanced up at the female as she seated herself politely. She was smaller than him, but not by too much. The male, though well muscled, was compact in all dimensions. Yero supposed it might be in good form to sit up himself, but the cool grass was so comfortable that the idea left his mind without too much of a fuss. There was no need to make this stuffier than it had to be; better to just enjoy the unsuspected company. He gave gentle a thump of his tail. "I'm Yero. it's a pleasure to meet you, Harlequin." The male cocked his head with curiousity. "Where do you come from?"

The female grinned ear to ear, and pivoted her ears forward. "That's good. I really don't like to intrude on people." It wasn't polite, in any case. "But I'm from a bit north of here. My father, Akui, controls that region. But I'm afraid I'm a bit of a wanderer myself." She frowned, and glanced out of the corner of her eyes. "He ah...doesn't know I'm off and about." But with a stern nod, she also added; "But I don't think I'll be missed for a while. I like to see what else there is...you know?" She didn't really know if this other wolf knew or not, but she certainly hoped to know someday.

Harle smiled, her head dipping after speaking. "But I'm afraid I'm not the best of travelers. I don't meet many people or have any fun adventures." She sighed, glancing upwards. "But I suppose those sort of things don't happen to wolves like me." She chuckled, and nodded. "But it is nice to meet you, Yero. I don't oftenly meet interesting people."

Yero chuckled to himself at her story. It sounded all too familiar. "I've recently set out from my first pack as well--Well, my first real pack. I came to the freelands as a lost pup. They took me in. The raven male canted his head to the right afternoon sky, as if he could see visions of his past play across the heavens. Indeed, in his mind's eye was a picture of Selia, the beautiful white Alpha who had taken the position as Yero's surrogate mother. "I fit in well enough, but after a while it was nice to try something different. Plus my mate wanted to return to our childhood home to raise our pups."

Yero let out a snort at her last comment but was secretly pleased. "I don't know if I'd fall into the category of interesting, but I'm glad all the same."

Harle shifted, quietly admiring the black wolf's story. Far more interesting a tale then she could ever speak of. "Really?" She smiled, her tail flushing briefly. She frowned for a moment, thinking to herself. She admired that Yero could pull away from a pack which loved him to start something new. Sometimes she felt her feet call her farther then she knew her parents would approve...but as of yet, she had not followed them farther then the point she now stood.

"I can imagine that it would be hard to leave family." She said quietly, nodding her head. "I would feel troubled to leave mine. But agree that sometimes you need change. Sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy with everything always staying the same." Her ears flanked, and she wondered if she should keep such comments to herself. But with a shake of her head, she dismissed the manner, and smiled.

"You have pups?" She fawned, a kind of maternal female instinct fluttering across her. "How old are they? Children are...a symbol of change." She nodded with a grin, rather pleased with herself. "How is your mate?" She inquired. It was indeed birthing season, perhaps these pups weren't old at all. Although she hoped asking such questions was not so intrusive.

Yero gave an empathetic nod. Once his old pack had settled down in their new territory and Selia's blood-pups had all grown and wandered off on their own ways, the same routine from week to week made the days grow drier one by one. "Sometimes a new start, though often frightening, turns out best after-all" For Yero it certainly had. Once stifflingly formal, and even afraid to speak as a pup, Yero had mellowed and grown into a well rounded wolf in the past few weeks. "But I agree, it can be hard. Even now I don''t think I could bear to be away from my 'Mother' Selia for long. Luckily her pack is just to the South."

The male swelled visably at the mention of the pups. He couldn't help it. His tail beat out a happy drum at his flank. A symbol of change indeed. After all, just the preparation for the pups had changed Yero's character to the core.

"Born just last night," He wuffed softly, his mind swimming with images of their tiny forms. He smiled at Harlequin's fawning nature, and suddenly an idea struck him. "They should be up and about in a couple of days. It'd be good for them to meet other wolves if you wanted to drop by.." His lip quirked in a wry grin.

"Whinn?" His ears perked at her last question. "She's doing fine now, though she's very tired." The black wolf smiled fondly.

Yero smiled at the younger wolf's responses. She didn't seem to hold back anything, her words flowing as easily as thoughts did through the mind. Such inhibition was nice and made for a pleasant conversation, and though the male did not reply to her every comment, he enjoyed them all the same. "Of course. You would be a welcome visitor," At her congratulations he grinned a warm thanks.

Yero flicked a charcoal colored ear as he pondered her last question. "Our den is at the river side, and we'll probably keep them their at the bank for a while. The waters are full of sweet silver fish, so we don't have to worry about food." Yero gave a light snort of humor at the thought of the infamous fish. He had grown much better at catching them over the past few weeks but Whinn was still the master of that kind of hunting. "I'd love to bring them here to play when they are able to travel a little ways. I'm glad I happened across this place." He wuffed, tilting his ears back as he closed his eyes for a moment with a smile, basking in the warm sun.

Harle smiled fondly, and glanced over in the distance. Perhaps somewhere in the distance was this river, although from where she stood she could not see it. Her expression would not have changed however, for she could see a lovely den by the water in her mind just as easily if it had been in front of her. Her head turned back, and her dual colored ears bobbed gently as she regarded the idea. "Fish...I have heard wolves can eat them. There aren't many full rivers, at least, fish rivers where I come from. We eat mostly small game, and large game when they pass through. I know of a wolf who lives off of voles- but I have never seen any catch fish. I'd imagine they'd taste well though. I once saw a bear eat them, and they are very large." She remarked, and although her long strand of ideas came full together, she did not speak fast or with a slanted tone. She was quite interested in this fish gathering, and privately, she made note to tell the oftenly starving lone about it once she met her once again.

Once more, Harlequin regarded the field with a steady nod. "This would be a good place for them." She spoke, although she realized her own experience with children was limited. But when she was a child, she would have loved to play in an area like this. "It feels safe here, and I do not feel that often in the open." Her voice thrummed seriously.

Yero gave a nod, red eyes glinting. "It took me a while to get used to fish, myself. Even now, some of the fish I catch aren't exactly savory. Personally I prefer red meat, but it's a commodity I don't mind sacrificing." He chuckled and pulled himself to his feet with a languid stretch before seating himself on his haunches, tail curling about his hip.

The wolf made a positive grunting noise at the female's statement. "Mmm. I see what you mean." His eyes followed the other's gaze. The trees ringing the tiny field seemed to make it more secluded, more secure. "Well, Harlequinn--I'd better get back to the family. I think I'll try to give Whinn a rest from the little guys." The black wolf smiled hopefully. "If you'll be around here sometime in the next couple days, I'm sure we'll be bringing the pups by soon," He wagged his tail amiably.

The pale ebony wolf smiled, nodding her head in pleasant agreement. Her ears whirled for a moment as for a brief moment, her mind already was off and wondering where she would go from this point. But she did not keep it adrift long, for she turned her face towards Yero and grinned. "Of course, you should be with your family. I'm sure it must be a new feeling." Her tail thrushed politely. The wolf's ears flattened carefully as she gently bowed her head. "I would love to meet them. I shall stay in the area for a few days then. I do not believe I shall be so missed for a bit."

The female rose, and filled with a sense of purpose for a bit, allowed the male to take his leave without much remorse. It felt like a good day for a run, and she was quite pleased with chance to make new friends. Truthfully, she had none other then the bitter lone Kirra, and sometimes she questioned if the other wolf really enjoyed her company or not.

"Thank you. I look forward to seeing you again," And with a parting smile and a dip of his muzzle, Yero trotted off into the woods.
