((Gonna get cert updated XD; ))It had been just a day or two since the female had left the Pridelands to explore the lands beyond her home, her dark paws sauntered slightly through the long grass of the plains as her deep golden eyes watched the world around her.
This was more than she could've anticipated and just took it all in, as she listened to the sounds and took in the smells of the world beyond the Pridelands. Sure, the Pridelands were nice...but...just to see everything beyond it...she'd never felt so alive.
Her dark form stuck out like a sore thumb, along with her bright red markings as she wandered through out the plains with nothing but curiousity in her mind. And wondered what else she would see in this place.

Lounging in the sun Ekage mused to himself as his brown hues peered up towards the passing clouds overhead. Smiling he was silent, tail flicking every now and then, his white fur a great contrast between himself and the green and golden grasses that surrounded his frame.
This was the life he supposed...
...but there had to be something more.
Ekage had searched for his family for so long and they seemed lost to the wind, though he would always feel their presence at his side and in his heart always. He longed for a home, though where to go he was unsure, he wanted to fit in, he wanted to have a home.
He wanted to have friends he would see often, instead of him just passing through.

The female continued her trek till she saw a glint of white from the corner of her peripheral vision, ears jutting forward as she paused briefly to look over it before making her way slowly towards it. Curiousity seemed universal to all cats and she was no exception, that is until the scent of a strange male hit her nostrils and she paused her actions a few metres away from him. ...A rogue...
She'd been but a youngster when she heard the story of king Mufasa being killed by that rogue scoundrel, ever since she'd been very wary of strangers, the thought of them hurting her was frightening...but the thought of them hurting her family...that built up such a rage in her. And as she thought over it she couldn't help but let out a small, involuntary snarl while watching his lounging form.

Ekage smiled hwile he held his eyes closed, flicking his tail every now and then until he heard s snarl, soft, though still loud enoughf or him to register in his mind and his eyes snapped open, brown hues searching around to see where hte initial sound had come from.
Something black caught his attention.
Rolling onto his paws he stretched his forelegs, watched hte figure for a moment, had he done something wrong, or were they just angry for some unknown reason? "Hello...is everything alright?" he asked hesitently, though his tone of voie was softer, calmer, almost as if to sooth the others tensions.

Zira was shaken from her thoughts as the male spoke, raising her head above the grass as her yellow eyes watched him...she'd calmed down, she just still didn't look to happy. She'd never been very trustworthy and that wasn't about to change.
"Yes...but, tell me..." She started as she stood there, staring at him with an almost serious look upon her features. "Don't you find it foolish laying out here where almost anything could pounce upon you and make you it's dinner?"
Her words left no room for argument as she almost demanded an answer, staring at him as she stood there with her tail practicly whipping her sides.

Ekage raised a brow at her, chuckled and shook his head, "Not foolish no, not foolish when you know how to protect yourself out here," he said with a nod, white mane falling into his view for a moment, why was she so tense, he wondered if she was new to wandering around out here. Flicking his tail he watched her, and smirked, "Don't you find it strange to wander by yourself miss? Many could try to catch up on you, though from where I am, I believe you would be able to handle yourself if a case such as that presented itself to you," he said smiling.
He knew strength when he saw it.

The female perked her ears curiously at his words despite the fact that stern look was still on her face, still standing firmly with her paws not moving an inch. As he aknowledged her strength she felt a small smirk tingle at the edge of her muzzle, but she didn't allow it, she wasn't proud nor did she have an ego either and she continued to watch him... ...still she could atleast say thanks, he didn't look all that dangerous anyway...
"Thank you, I do try to keep myself as safe as possible out here." With that tone, one would've thought she'd been out here as long as time itself. Ohh if he only knew!
"So...can I ask the name of someone obviously so knowledgable in his own self defense?" She asked as her rear lowered itself to the ground in a seated position.

"Your quite wlecome, I am Ekage," he said lowering his head somewhat in a bow of respect, his deep brown hues still focused on her as he did so. He flicked his tail and settled it to curl about himself as he sat back, just watching her, she seemed very well suited out here, he wondered if she was a traveler much like himself.
"Are you a traveler miss? Have you been out here long?" he was curious, and he had a sincere smile upon his face.

Zira watched him closely, flicking her head as a fly agitated her sensitive ears and she took a very small, but confident step forward.
"If you must know." She started. "I've just started my travels not but a couple days ago." She said, still that thick tone of confidence as her tail moved back and forth like a speedy metronome.

Ekage eyed her but in a manner that would not be considered rude or creepy in anyway, he was merely watching her, watching her movements and chosen path as she had let her paws take a step closer to him, and he did not flinch away, or step away. Perhaps she was feeling more confident stepping near him, less nervous about him. "Ah I see, well then you'll have many many places to see that are truly wonderful," he said with a smile, shaking his head to paw at the fly that insisted on landing on his ear making it hard to reach with his thick mane in the way. "Many places, you'll have such a wonderful time."

The female watched him closely as he watched her, still standing her ground as he stood his and she cocked her head to the side. He spoke like he was an expert on being a rogue, than again, he was one and mentally scolded herself for thinking so stupidly.
"You sound wise to the subject of this." She said, tone still strong and determined as she watched him. "Tell me, how long have you been a rogue if you've even had a pride?"
She was so stern and strong in appearance, her dark form like physical shadow that seemed to stare him down. Both lions pelts contrasted so much to each other...but still, that didn't stop them from having a mostly peaceful conversation.

Ekage shrugged his shoulders while he watched her. He knew things, learned things as he went along in life, so he knew certain things, how to be, act, live, survive. It was all with life experience, all with life and what it had dealt to him since he was young, and old.
"I merely know things from experience, my family traveled with others, I've always been a rogue, never really had a set home per say, though my home was where my family is. I'm searching for them now."
Though he was tempted to find somewhere to go, somewhere to belong.
Somewhere where he wouldn't be a rogue all of his life.

Zira arched a slender brow at him before moving a little closer, the thought of a rogue intrigued and frightened her...but he seemed to be calm enough for now.
"I left my family..." She started as she looked over his pristine white form. "Just to see what was out here."
Her foster mother hadn't kept any of them out of her sight when she and her brother was a cub, she knew she loved them all, but her curiousity...by the ancestors it tugged at her. And now to finally be out here, without her family...it was exhilirating to say the least.
She then realised that even though she'd asked his name, he hadn't done the same for her...so she almost felt obligated to tell him.
"I'm Zira."

"Zira, an intriguing name with some edge behind it perhaps, though its not in my place to say," he said with a smile and a nod. Flicking his tail, rolling his shoulders for a moment as he sat, they were becoming stiff for sitting so long. Ah well, he just wasn't used to staying in one place now and again, but stopping to converse with others was so nice, he couldn't resist that temptation.
Though her leaving her family was strange.
He as separated from his family, so he had his own personal opinions on things. Family was so important, he wished to have that sort of thing again in his life.
Someday though, someday.
"There are many things out here, wonderful things, I've seen them," he said confirming his statement with a nod, "You'll have a wondrous time out here."
Though he wondered if she would ever travel back home to her family.

Oh his words deffinately got a brow raised from her, an edge to her name eh? She smirked at that and watched him closely as he spoke, however, as he spoke about how wonderful the lands were and what'd she'd see...hmm...she wondered...
"Where have you been?" She asked. Sitting there as he bright yellow eyes continued to watch him. It appeared as though she was relaxed...but still wary of him, it was a natural thing to be around new creatures they didn't know.
