Inari yawned, tail flicking her stretched his legs, muscles no longer tense he shook his head, mane falling into place, he hated it when his mane got too fluffy or unkempt. Smiling he trudged through the grasses, mind whizzing with ideas and hopes for the future, though he did wonder how Mrost was, how his family was, it had been so long since the last time he had seen them.
Too long in fact.
There was new life in the pridelands, cubs everywhere. Inari could see their small round fuzzy forms darting in the tall grasses, hearing their giggles, watching their parents watch them. It was a wondrous thing.
Family was wonderful.

Oddly enough for the male that hadn’t seen his family in a while, his one and only sister happened to be lurking rather close to him. Stretched out in the midst of a large field filled with the tall golden tufts of the savannah’s summer grasses, she seemed to be in her own little world. Those bright, sapphire blue eyes gleamed as she stared idly up at the clouds. It was unlike Kiasi to be daydreaming, but given her recent thoughts, it was a wonder she wasn’t acting giddy. Well, perhaps not so much of a wonder, Kiasi was an arrogant little princess and acting giddy would have probably have been beyond her.
As she heard the soft swish of grass that spoke of someone coming near, she glanced up half expecting to see Kubwa, or even that new lioness she had befriended – Eusi. It was with a little laugh, however, that she saw it was neither, but her brother. The brother that just happened to have Eusi’s mind in a fit. “Well, well, hello there stranger,” she called out in that beautifully elegant voice that she had mastered even as a cub. Well, perhaps she wasn’t as close to him as she was Chunuka, but family was family after all.

Inari stopped short when he heard a voice, he was ready to pounce on any intruder that had come in this far, but as he turned his head, his golden hues settled on the form of family, moreso, his only sister. He offered her a smile, drew closer to where she was, and sat back on his haunches, eyes just watching her, "Sister..been a while hasn't it?"
He wondered if she was still so close with mom, dad, his brothers, he hadn't spoken to any of them in so long.
He hadn't seen any of them in so long.
"How have you been?"

Kiasi smiled softly as her brother walked closer, tail flickering slowly beside her, up and down. She turned her attention to it for a moment, watching it with a mild interest, listening to him speak. She had never been very close to her brothers growing up, considering how much she disliked getting dirty and being loud, but she had been certainly been getting closer to one or two of them since she had sought out their company recently.
“Yes, it’s been quite a while, actually,” she said with a little smile. She still lived at home with their father, the little princess not bothering to leave even now. She was still just as pampered and spoiled as she had ever been. It was good being the only girl of a litter, especially when you got to be the apple of your daddy’s eye. Not to mention, their older brother had always indulged her quite regularly.
“I’ve been alright,” she said with a smile, glancing up at him with those deep sapphire eyes, “I think I may actually have found myself a male. About time, wouldn’t you say?” She smirked at the thought and glanced away, purring softly to herself. If he was anything like their brother Chunuka, he would certainly not appreciate the news.

Inari stayed silent, not uttering a word, not making a sound, trying to keep his breath slow and quiet as if he breathed too loud, it might break the moment they were in: sister and brother, reunited, in one way or another. Golden hues traveled over his sister, she had grown so much,t he markings of their father were upon her, surely she had grown wiser as well.
"Thats good, that you've been well" he said with a nod, hearing her next words hit home with him, he thought of Eusi, and he smiled, though his sister, though they weren't too close, he was protective. "That is good, I hope he's nice yes? I can't have some mean male be possessive of my only sister," he was showing he still loved her, but would not go as far as to possibly ruin her happiness.
He always tried to be a good son, warrior, and brother when he could.

She smiled softly as she glanced up at his eyes, head tilting slowly. He had grown much since the last time she had seen him, and she wondered idly what had changed within him. Though they looked little alike, the pair must have some things in common. Eusi didn’t seem to be the type of lioness to like fools, and from the talks she had had with the beautifully dark Pridelander, Inari obviously wasn’t a fool. It was a comfort to know that she wasn’t the only one in the family to have grown some brains.
“He’s very nice,” she said with a little chuckle. “He has a cub, but I can always look past that.” Well, that was a step up for the pretty lioness. Before, she would have turned her nose as any male that even mentioned he had a cub. She detested the little things almost as much as she did dirt. “Besides, he’s quite handsome, and he gets so flustered with me,” she smirked, shrugging her shoulders.
“I hear you’ve been up to your own mischief, hm?” she grinned rather wickedly as she turned her blue eyes onto him, quirking a brow. “Or so Eusi tells me,” oh, what was his luck that his new romantic interest happened to be friends with his little sister?

"I'm glad then, I can have a fool be with my sister after all," Inari said with a smile, and a smirk of his own. So her mate had a cub already? There could be many reasons for that, perhaps the original female abandoned them, was lost to the savanna wandering, or perhaps had passed on while giving birth to the only cub. Though that didn't matter all that mattered was that his sister would be the apple of her mate's eyes now, her and only her.
Or else there would be trouble.
Eusi...his sister knew her?
Great.
"I suppose so, Eusi is..different, from most I've met, we've been able to agree on some things others might not find right in their own morals," he said with a nod. Yes, strong since birth, trained to be strong, many would disagree from such a task.

“You know me well enough to know that I would never settle for a fool,” she said with a little smirk, her eyes sparkling as she said that. It was the truth, regardless. She would never settle for someone too far below her, and there were few that she deemed worthy enough to meet her standards. Besides, if she was going to be bearing cubs one day, it would be with someone she knew was strong enough to bring them up as they should be. She wouldn’t have her children being any less brilliant than Inari and Eusi’s own would be. It seemed that need ran in the family.
“Oh, Eusi’s very different,” she said with another of those mischievous little smirks. She glanced away towards the horizon for a moment before glancing back to him. “I think she and I will become marvelous friends,” she said with a little purr in her tone, though it was vaguely meant to tease him. Oh, she would know everything about the things that revolved around his future family. “I think my intelligence was half the reason she decided you were a good pick,” she said with a little laugh, her eyes twinkling at her teasing words, “strong and smart genes.” Oh, but he would be in trouble if they produced a princess too much like Kiasi.

Inari chuckled as he listened to his sisters words, he hoped that if he had cubs, that there would be more then one girl, if any, so that a single female might not deem herself as the gods gift here, he loved his sister dearly, though she looked upon herself in such a manner he would not want fr his children. His cubs would be strong , smart, and skilled, regardless of what his sister had to say or influence.
Nothing would change what Eusi and he agreed upon.
"Being different is always alright, and I would believe I have both of those qualities on my own without your help sister," he said with a grin.

Could you really blame Kiasi for being such a little princess in persona? After all, the moment she was born, she had been dubbed with the name ‘little star’ by none other than their oldest brother. Then, throughout their childhood, she had frequently been the apple of their father’s eye. Not only that, but she had disliked rough housing and dirt, and spent most of her time in the den with her parents. Pampered little princesses were adorable as cubs, and at least she had brains that made her bearable as an adult. She was just sort of bitchy, and that was sometimes a good quality in strong lionesses.
“You think so?” she said with a devilish little grin, her eyebrow arching in question. Oh, she liked to imply that he was stupid, but it was only good-natured sisterly teasing. That’s just how she was. She chuckled and shook her head, “no, no, I’m sure you’ve got some brains somewhere in that thick skull of yours.” Aw, but he should be used to her by now.

Inari huffed and quirked a brow t her, swaying his tail he sighed, would she ever just be nice and somewhat normal around her family? Seriously, Inari didn't have to put up with such talk, even if she was his sister. His sister would make an interesting mate, that he knew, an even weirder mother, she'd probably pamper her daughters as princesses.
Ah well, his children would be stronger then hers in the end, they'd grow up strong like him.
"'Course I have brains, and not necessarily by hanging around you either," he said with a grin implying that he hadn't needed her to gain the knowledge that he had.
They were indeed a strange siblings couple.

Well, that was obviously the big difference between Inari and Kiasi. Where Inari wanted strong, brave children, Kiasi wanted something much different. She wanted them to be smart, head strong, courageous. She wouldn’t settle for anything less. They would grow up to match their wit against Inari’s children. Who knows? Together they would probably be a force to be reckoned with.
“Well, I’m glad you do, otherwise I don’t think Eusi would like you very much,” she said with a smirk, quirking her brow at him. True, she didn’t know exactly what it is that was going on between the two of them, but she knew that Eusi wouldn’t have tolerated him had he been stupid.
Well, they were certainly a pair, weren’t they?

Inari gave a chuckle, and wondered how Kiasi would ever be able to take a mate that would tolerate her, however, Kiasi was certainly special and headstrong, she'd be fine, he assured himself, she'd be fine. Flicking his tail he stood and peered across the open clearing for a moment, flicking his tail his ears swiveled, he should head back to the den.
"I should go find Eusi, see where she went," he said with a smile, "Guess I'll catch you later sis," he said with a smirk, and he started padding off to find the black pelted female known as Eusi.
Figured that his sister would know Eusi...

She chuckled as she watched him stand, her gleaming blue eyes staring up at him calmly. Her tail wavered slowly behind her little paws, a small purr in her throat, though she did almost seem sad to watch her brother leaving. After all, she hadn’t seen many of her brothers lately and it was nice to talk to them – even if all she did was tease them constantly. “It was nice to see you again,” she said with a little smirk, “I suppose, if you’re going to be around Eusi a lot, I’ll be seeing a lot of you.” Oh, that was almost a taunt, but she did laugh at the end.
With a little smile, she pushed herself up onto her paws and began to trot off in the opposite direction. If he thought that she was trouble, being so self confident and over powering, then she wondered how in the world he was going to deal with Eusi. After all, she and Eusi were a lot alike, and she was probably kinder due to the affection she gave him being that he was her brother. She simply chuckled at the thought and was still doing so as she disappeared into the distance.
