Who: Mysidia & Ness
What: random encounter
Where: base of the mountains
When: Midmorning. Whenever around now works for Ness around now. Long after Xiang's birthday party.
Why: Making new friends!
It was wa beautiful day! But then, to the cheerful chocobo numa female everyday was beautiful. And why not? The sun was shining, the grape soda river was gurgling, she had a sweet mate and they had four wonderful pups-that-were-no-longer-pups, and her wings worked to carry her happily through the skies.
Today... she wanted to play in the not-snow of the mountains. Mysidia had stopped by the cndycane forest to see if her son Naoki had wanted to join her, but the large male was already fast asleep atop one of the large canes. Mys was not so slow as to wake him & chance sending him tumbling to the ground. She was a mother & did not want to chance hurting Naoki like that. So she was alone, singing a happy cheerful song to herself as she flew... then diving with an excited kweh into the white puffy landscape as she came upon it.

Ness was standing higher up on the mountain at first. She had been inspecting it as she thought the mountain was the best place for sliding. She was trying to see how she could use it. She was noticing some sides had slopes that were like slides. She flew down to get a better look from the bottom. She saw a yellow numa land. After trying to remember, she felt certain she hadn't met her before. "Hello there! Did you come to slide too?"

The female chocobo numa looked up from the 'snow' with a startled "wark!", white flakes dappled upon her almost golden colored fur. A smile lit her blue eyes as she spotted the numa that had startled her. "Oh! kweh Hello!! Slide? No I kweh didn't! But that sounds like fun!!"
Shaking herself from nose to tail Mysidia laughed and took to the sky to land atop the mountain by the other female. "Hi! I'm kweh Mysidia!"

"Mysidia, huh? I'm Ness. I come to the mountains to slide. Sometimes, if you get a running start, you'll slide down faster. I keep saying how one day I'll come out here and spend time smoothing a path down. Maybe we could use a giant lifesaver to slide down on or something."
Ness looked at her friendly. She wondered if this golden numa liked to have lots of fun too. And, then with a hop, Ness was flying down the mountain on her belly, with her tail flapping behind her like a flag.

"Nice to kweh meet you, Ness!!" Blue eyes got big with excitement at the thought of a good slide. "oooo!!! kweh Lifesavers!! Yeah!"
But whatever else she was about to say completely fled her mind as the other female slid down the hill. Mysidia squawked excitedly. "Booyaka!! Fun!!!"
Flying up, Mys eyeballed the slope. Then with a wild bird like cry she dove, altering her dive before hitting the ground and using that momentum for her 'run'. She squealed and kwehed all the way down.

Ness was extremely pleased to see Mysidia racing behind her. She rolled forward and sprung up on her feet. "That... was such... a rush! It was so great. We need to do that again...."
Ness got caught up with the rush of it, and she couldn't wait for an objection. She started to flap her wings and took off up high to the top of the mountain again. She had caught a glimpse of how Mysidia took off. She wanted to try it. With a strong flapping and pushing towards the ground, she hit the slope. She let out an unbridled blissful yell. "WHEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"

Mys squawked encouragingly at the other numa, then warked and leapt into the air to get of the way and get a chance to repeat one of her own. her blue eyes were dancing. This was so much fun! Maybe she should have stopped to convince Naoki to accompany her. The thought made the chocobo laugh.
For some reason she even drew her wings about her, which sent her plummeting back to the slope. She noticed barely in time -able to change the angle she landed only. But that was enough. Mysidia hit the slide with such force she speed down the mountain like nobody's business. It pulled a loud scream from her, but one of thrill & delight & excitement.

Ness had fallen off the slope into a side of the mountain that had lots of frosting in it. Ness had it all over her hair and tail. She sat up and stuck a paw in her hair to wipe some of it off. She sniffed at it. It sure smelled sweet.
She looked around and gave in to the curiosity. She stuck some of it in her mouth; and.. it was great! It was only when she stood up, she was able to realize her backside was covered in something white, fluffy, and wonderfully tasty. "oooh..."
She was glad to be out the way when Mysidia came barreling by. "Wow. you're good at this! I'm so glad someone else was here to enjoy this with me. Fun is always better when you share it with someone."

Mys looked up from where her slide landed her, blue eyes quite dizzy from the speed and thrill. She beamed at the other female & laughed merrily. "Yeah! Guess I kweh am!" The chocobo female looked surprised at that... she had not been trying. But then she rarely tried to have fun -she simply did. "Everything's better with kwehsomeone else! Mate or pups or kweh friends!!!"
Her smile filled her golden face, funny when her nose & muzzle were practically a beak.

"You said it! Friends really make everything seem better I think. I don't have a mate or children... but, I do have some friends. They keep my life plenty full as it is. Do you have a mate and children?" Ness flapped her wings a few times. She giggled when she would hear the "kweh" sound. She thought it was just the cutest thing she ever heard.

"yup!" Mysidia had lots of friends, and even though often there were huge lengths of time between seeing them to the chocobo female they were always friends. "I'm Ryuune's always-always! And the kweh marshmallow swan granted our prayers after kweh months and months and kweh months! Four pups!! They're all kweh grown now & wonderful!" Sometime while speaking Mys had flopped to her back off of the pressed snow of their 'slide' and started making numa-snow-angels in the candy snow.

"Oh!!!" Ness got down on the ground only a foot or so away, and she started to mimic Mysidia. "That looked like fun. I just had to come try this. This is so neat.. I never did it before."
Then, she thought about pups.. mates... things she was sometimes shying away from inwardly. She wondered how people knew when they were ready.. when the numa they chose was the right one.

The chocobo female blinked. She might have been around a decent time as far as numas went but her innocence was often still that of a young pup. If not for cleaning the candy of the land from his fur and therefor his horns she might never have discovered the feelings she had for Ryuune ran as deep as they did, though her mate seemed to have wanted her since he was a pup.
She giggled at Ness in the candy snow. "With your fur... you kweh match the snow!" Blue eyes twinkled. "A numa could kweh loose you around here!"

Ness laughed happily. "That is so sweet. Oh man... too bad some random numa doesn't come by. I could jump up and see if I spook them out. haha.. That'd be great... well.. maybe..."
Ness continued working on her snow angel. She looked at Mysidia. "Mysidia, how did you know for sure that your mate was the one for you. I mean. How did you know it wasn't just a crush.. but something real?"

Mysidia giggled at the thought of such fun, imagining the shocked looks on numas' faces as Ness popped out of the snow at them. She... she would have to come out of lemonaide. Or lemon merangue pie. Or maybe a banana cream pie.... yumm!!
The carefree female blinked, going still in surprise. "How did I kweh know? Not a crush?" Mys looked confused. "I kweh dunno. Ryuune just tasted good!" A happy smile, remembering that first time... by the river as they cleaned grape soda off of each other. Times before that, while Ryuune was still a pup, talking about what to wear for Halloween. Then she quirked her head curiously at the other female. "What's a kweh crush?"
